Shields made of different materials were used depending on what was needed for the shot. Rubber shields were used for when Captain America punches people with it. For scenes where he put the shield on his back, magnets were used to keep it in place. In many of the scenes where he is seen throwing the shield, Chris Evans would mime out the actions of catching and throwing the shield, with the shield being added later, using CGI.
So, let me get this straight? The blue ray guns were made by "harnessing the power of the gods". And the shield stops those rays while everything else gets blown up or vaporized. So they're trying to tell me that Captain America's Shield > the power of the gods?
@MagicD Same explanation they gave for why Spiderman doesn't beat thugs to a bloody pulp every time he beats one. Because he pulls his punches against regular humans. He holds back, because he's either been ordered to, or simply because he's got enough compassion to. After all, if he killed every human he fought, he'd be just as evil as the villain he fights. Comic book rules, man xD
They could have easily saved it with a few flamethrowers coming at different timings and he just rushes one of the flamethrowers using the shield to block or by throwing his shield at the other flame throwers before they start flaming up.
Ok.....people, he got caught on purpose. Honestly.....whats easier?? Breaking down a door and fighting a bunch of ppl to find ur enemy, or pwn a few ppl and be ESCORTED to ur target??
The shield absorbs vibrations (hence the name vibranium) but there it is bouncing all over the place and wouldn't that cut the enemies face up if you're the strongest person in the world throwing a thin piece of metal in someone's face
The shield is a win!

@tacticalmarine I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!!! I DID THE EXACT SAME THING!!! I WAS DYING!!!! It was just so unnecessary. XD XD XD XD
LOL same here I am like why not try and kill him? instead of creating a trap around him? it was a bit idiotic.
@TraneDisorder Humans aren't that frail. Plus they're wearing armor.
Hydra soldiers not even pointing the flamethrowers on Cap. facepalm*
Those flamethrower guys are so stupid they could have tried to burn him but no instead lets do a Fence of Fire and trap him...
Everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
FLAME ON!
wait a minute
This is so me in a free for all lol XD
Lol!! fence of fire, fence of fire!!

So no one wanted to shoot
Tried this with my garbage cover at a kids party once and the neighbours called the cops
Probably best scene in the whole movie
