Gal Gadot was a commando in the israeli army. She doesn't know badass & beautiful, she IS!
Correction: Thor learns who he is. With Odin gone, he had has inherited the Legacy of Buri, the most powerful Asgardian ever. The Odin force just became the Thor force and with the sacrifice of an eye, Thor just equaled Odin's power, but he is not done yet.
James Howlett/Logan-Wolverine was dying, poisoned by anti-mutant food and his own depression. That injection didn't give him back his Berserker Fury, it just counteracted the food and the depression for a short time, allowing him to be a hero one last time.
All humans are mutants. If we weren't we'd still be a unicellular organism floating around in the ocean hoping on a lucky lightning bolt.
When Thor did held open the gates of Nidavellir, it was a God+ level feat.
The Asgard and the Norse worship 3 key virtues; courage, honesty and sacrifice.
They believed them to have supernatural qualities that can enhance your life.
What Thor was willing to do and what Groot did OP'd Stormbreakers forging!
Spider-Man's powers are based in his psychology. If he believes he's powerful, he's POWERFUL! If it wants to save people he cares about, he can bench press an armoured car one-handed!

This was one of the reasons why Garfield's Spiderman was, in some ways, much better than McGuire's -- McGuire is a far better actor, but the FX work had him actually looking like Spidey in the fight scenes -- e.g., shooting a web through Lizard's legs, pulling himself through, and then scampering up his back, all the while quipping wisecracks. The latter was better writing for Garfield and set a lighter tone that was more "Spidey"-like, even though Spidey has dark undertones, as well. These two things made Garfield's Spiderman not so much "better", as "closer to the comics", and better on at least some levels.
I think the Spideyverse movies are, by far, the best, however.

    • @nickbrutanna9973
      @nickbrutanna9973 6 месяцев назад +1

}}} I really loved how versatile they showed teleportation can be
Yeah, it's always great when the writers show they really comprehend the utility of a power that might seem unimpressive, but then they use it to tremendous effect.
Another example is Nicolas Cage in "Next" -- You would not think the ability to see a couple minutes into the future would be an awesome power to have, but they quickly show it is a lot more useful than you think, at the start of the movie.
Another example was the TV series Dollhouse, which was decent but unimpressive until about the 7th episode, where she takes on the persona of a dead woman. This showed that Whedon really and deeply grasped the full impact of the tech he'd created as the show's macguffin. It's not always easy, seeing the secondary and tertiary impacts of a technology. It was one or the things that made Robert Heinlein so awesome as an SF writer.

I wish I could agree, but most of the other scenes in this composition were more 'badass'. Hulk smash, Thor becoming god of thunder, black adam intro and V for Vendetta fight were definitely that. Wonderwoman, Logan and Deadpool scenes also score higher. The Spiderman stopping a train scene was closeer to 25 than 1.

I think people misunderstand why Spiderman stopping the train is number 1 for a lot of people. The truth is even thou its not the most amazing scene but it showed what a hero really is, they fight super villains but their true purpose is saving lives. Tobey Maguires spiderman in this scene was still fighting Doc Ock but stopped because many people would die even though he needed all his strength to continue the fight essentially giving up the victory for the lives of civilians. The only other scene I would put with this one was his fight on the bridge with Green Goblin when he just had to hang on for dear life saving MJ and a bus of kids while GG was still trying to kill him. All reasons why Tobey Maguire is my Fav Spiderman and really why Spiderman is my all time #1 Hero.

nightcrawler is, to me, extremely badass because they made him wear light colored clothes so they contrast with his dark skin and the smoke he leaves. this allows the character to move faster without the audience seeing only a black mess.

He gives his best, his fullest, his all to erve and save people, and the one woman he loves he...has FAILED? The tenderness as he carefully pulls her from the car. Ten the transformation from tormented tears to the scream of anguish and the pure rage on his face, refusing to let *this* death happen. I think Xmen 2's white house scene is the BEST action scene in history!! It's like a renaissance work of art from the music to the imagery, and picking 'Dies Irae' (Day of Wrath from Mozart's requiem mass) was spectacular foreshadowing!! I'm a little disappointed Nightcrawler's train fight scene in the new dark Phoenix wasn't in here. I think that one also showed his hidden talents in an amazing way, from snapping a guy's neck with his tail to slicing another guy's throat with it, and of course teleporting a woman outside the train only to disappear right in time for the train to hit her! All with a smile! 😈 It's such a change from his attitude in the cage fight with angel in apocalypse.

Love this! Thanks for the video :D
I will address a plot hole you call out at 20:40, regarding Thanos' strength.
There is actually great explanations for the power level differences amongst the fan community. And it does actually make a lot of sense, which I thought you might appreciate:
It all comes down to the infinity stones, and how they affect the wearer. They are incredibly powerful magical artifacts, claiming a physical toll over whoever is carrying them. The more stones you carry the more magical powers you'll have, but the weaker you are - physically. And this makes sense, right? Now, you don't need to read further, and can just insert this into whatever power level plot hole you can think of, it generally explains it :)
    Examples:
For all the past and early encounters with Thanos, he is carrying at least 2 stones. In the big fight against Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Spider Man, Mantis and Starlord in Infinity War, he is carrying 5. So much weaker physically, to the point that he bleeds, but magically strong enough to go up against Doctor Strange, which he does.
In endgame, and in the scene you are showing at 20:40, Thanos has no infinity stones. He's at his peak physical strength, in a way he has never been portraited yet in the movies at this point, a type of strength that goes perfectly against our own raw strength-type of heroes, such as Iron Man, Cap and Thor.
Another "plot hole" example that isn't really a plot hole: In the end of Infinity War when he has all but 1 stone, there is the scene where is slowly walks over all our heroes to get to Vision, handling everyone with easy using magic. Even besting the magical and infinity stone-infused Wanda. In Endgame, carrying 0 stones during the big final battle, Wanda is more or less about to end the saga by tearing him apart with magic, which he can't deal with with raw strength alone. Saved only by "Rain fire" and huge sacrifices to his own army.

The train scene was f-ing phenomenal. I will always remeber the line "He's just a kid..no older than my son." It gets me everytime. It really underscored what it meant to be a hero, to be willing to sacrifice everything give everything just because its the right thing to do. "because with great power comes great responsibility". That and the realization that he's unmasked and putting his family in danger once again, but able to trust in the goodness of his fellow everyman New Yorker because we're all in this together. Both poignant and uplifting.

V is a riff on an iconic Bonfire Night character in Britain, and everyone knew who he was and what he meant.
When I were a lad, anyone could wear a grey pasteboard (papier mache) mask of him; they were available anywhere in late October. This was on of the the points of the comic.
People sometimes get locked up for wearing a Guy Fawkes mask today, unfortunately.

I get not wanting to include two Quicksilver super-speed scenes on the list, but I think him evacuating the X Mansion in X-Men: Apocalypse should've made the cut. It was not a good movie, but it did manage one excellent scene. I'm also a bit disappointed the Strange v Strange fight in Multiverse of Madness didn't make the list. That movie had its ups and downs, and that part was a major up.
And while it doesn't really count as a 'superhero' movie, I'd like to give an honorary mention to... well, basically every fight scene in the original Pacific Rim, but especially Gypsy riding to the rescue against Leatherback and Otachi. In a movie absolutely full of badass scenes, that one is easily my favorite.
And I guess if we're bringing up not-superhero movies, I also have to mention the the first half of the Casa Cristo race in the Speed Racer movie. Again, the movie has badass action sequences (mainly race-related) for days, but that one takes the cake. I mean, where else are you going to see a dude jump his car into the air and punch another driver in the face? And as if that scene wasn't enough already, it's closely followed by Pops' epic beatdown of a ninja and subsequent delivery of the single greatest terrible pun of all time (Can you tell I love this movie? Because I fucking love this movie).

I actually agree with a majority of this list. That Spider-Man 2 scene is absolutely deserving as the top spot. It’s not just ‘badass’, the two kids telling Peter that they won’t reveal his identity is just outstanding. I personally liked Pattinsons Batman, and I’ve never known why it got so much hate, it’s my favorite Batman movie after Bale’s Dark Knight (which is a literal masterpiece) and that’s a huge accolade. The scene shown here from the movie is PERFECT. The old muscle car as the Bat Mobile, the pouring rain, the upside down shot of him walking as a slower version of “Something In The Way” playing in the background - it’s all spot f*cking on.

For the most part, I have no problem with your list. The one exception is your pick of scenes from 1978's Superman. Maybe it's a throw back to seeing this movie in the theater during it's initial run (yes, I was a pre-teen back then), but the scene where Superman catches the helicopter and rescues Lois Lane still gives me chills. It is a vastly superior scene to the one you chose. The scene you chose (the turning back time scene) always seemed to me a cheesy solution to a story cul-de-sac where a writer went.
