The elevator fight is one of my most favorite fights in the entire MCU. It’s so satisfying watching Cap go ham despite being outnumbered and confined in such a small space. Also, throwing Rumlo into the ceiling of it and literally denting it is amazing. However, Age of Ultron had the best introduction scene ever.
After all these scenes of Cap destroying his opponents *with his hands* , Friday's line of "You can't beat him hand-to-hand!" has an even deeper meaning.
@@shadowx2229 Cap fights up close and personal because he's ready to die and everyone in his life he loved died decades ago. He's the only Avenger who uses a defensive weapon rather than an offensive one and he can literally see the blood on his hands and the repercussions of his actions up close. As opposed to Tony.
Captain America is the only superhero trilogy in which every sequel is better than the other. First Avenger, then Winter Soldier, then Civil War. Great films and beautifully orchestrated concepts which actually respect the canon material.
It will only happen if Cap wants it. Cap don't need to explode people's head. It's not depended on rating of film. Wanda brutally sliced Captain Carter to 2 pieces with that shield in Doctor Strange 2. Doctor Strange 2 was not R rated.
I think its more because he currently only gave a shit about bucky. At this point, Tony has had bucky attempt to murder him twice. Then he has seen Cap fight several soldiers for bucky. Then he has seen Cap fight against half the avengers with with the other half/extras (During which, Wanda let go with her powers, cap accidentally helped throw an explosive truck at tony, and they smashed a plane up against them, finally ending with vision accidentally hitting rhodey and him being horribly injured), again for Bucky. He then risks what little pull he has with the sokovia accords to go and help Cap and bucky (Who, by the way, was he was last captured.. broke out and murdered a shit load of people in cold blood). He then fights against both Cap and Bucky.. and remember, in this fight, bucky hasn't been holding back, every shot bucky has done was to signficantly hurt tony, and at one point tries to fire a gun at a helmet down tony. Tony was somewhere unsure as to killing Bucky or not, as he has a significant number of chances, but as steve had said "He wont stop", he knows that steve probably wants to stop him following Bucky. He asked himself "How far will Steve go to save bucky? He's forgiven the assassin without a second thought, he's split the avengers for it, he has gone on the run for it. He will probably kill me for it."
@@mellr0 i dont agree that cap only gives a shit about bucky at this point., cap is the only one that understands that bucky has basically been a POW since WW2. hes trying to protect bucky and tony at the same time. he knows that not telling tony is wrong but cap makes the difficult choice of not telling him.
The fight scenes from The Winter Soldier were 100% the best in the MCU. And still the first fight between Cap and The Winter Soldier is the best action sequence in the MCU, and one of the best in any genre of movie.
He's a soldier, a warrior, not a bad-guy cop like Batman. If the enemy need some killing, he'll oblige, though we know he's not a fan of it. But he'll do it when it needs to happen, and he'll do it decisively. That's the key here, decisive action. Put them down to stay down, then it's done.
fbiuzz did you see him in the first movie that wasn't savage Then he starts breaking bones in winter soldier I just admire the fact that he conformed to the present style of fighting
Actually he was, anytime you see a soldier flying through the air by Cap's punches, they probably suffering massive internal bleeding and shattered bones.
The winter soldier boat scene was when I fully realized how strong and badass Cap was. Before that, I thought he was just a guy that could throw a shield pretty good lol
To be fair, Captain America literally only had a week or so of combat training, so he is mostly relying on his superhuman attributes to get through The First Avengers and Avengers movie. Its in Winter Soldiers onward that he was able to combine his superhuman abilities combine with actual combat skill.
That is not a good enough reason to clarify the difference in choreography. Captain America took a super soldier serum that increased his potential to the peak of human prowess with only some feats of superhuman like for example, using his vibranium shield to cushion superhuman landing which would have easily killed any normal human beings. During Captains America service in WW2, he developed and learned plenty of viable close combat experience and leadership skills. You saying that he had only a week or so of combat training in between The First Avengers and The Avengers movie is silly because Captain America spent years with his Howling Commandoes raiding all of German and Hydra outposts. It was only until Russo Brothers directed The Winter Soldier that helped shine a new light to Captain America's mixed martial arts skills to the big screen and it was damn good.
I was not saying that Captain America only had a one week of training between First Avengers and the Avengers movie. I was saying that he only had about one week of training in the military BEFORE he took the super soldier serum in the First Avengers movie. Also during World War II, most of U.S military's hand-to-hand combat technique was just American Boxing. You can see in that all Pre-Winter Soldier scenes, Captain America almost always attack with his upper body or just use shield throw, it's only after Winter Soldier do we see Cap using mixed martial arts and spartan kicking people left and right.
+fbiuzz I actually respect that too, they could've very easily had Cap being some badass all around fighter with the flashiest moves, but no they went with the fighting style that was more inline with that was common during the time period.
I like the fact that we can his improvements in his fighting techniques throughout the years. You can see the difference and the massive improvements he has made in the Winter Soldier movie.
Which makes sense, since he’s a super soldier it also amplifies how fast he learns new skills, his fighting style in the first movie is somewhat different to the winter soldier style, because in the second movie he had to become familiar with more modern martial arts.
The fight in the Winter Soldier movie was so insane. Literally the best fighting I've ever seen in a movie, the 2 100 year warriors literally having a deadly fight was just amazing.
Fighting Cap must be terrifying. After years of facing humans who lived inside the realm of possibility, you suddenly have a dude who doesn't bother with guns and can send people *flying* with his punches. Henchmen have it rough.
AJ Nappy actually it isn’t, he does most of his own. They couldn’t even have someone stand in for him when he’s running because he has a very distinctive way of moving. There’s a lot of behind the scenes vids showing him practising with Bucky, and the elevator fight scene.

Yeah. I hated how they played Cap's fight scenes in The First Avenger, The Avengers (2012) and Age of Ultron way too safe. Those fight scenes were really forgettable ones in comparison to the Russo Cap fight scenes.
Age of Ultron's weren't that bad though.. Cap does some pretty moves even there, Whedon kind of redeemed himself after handling him so bad in the first Avengers movie.
@@RoxasTheBest89 AoU was definitely better fighting styles for cap than the previous films, but the Russo Bros really set the bar with winter soldier. It's just an all around great action flick.
That's the problem the shaky cameras and those edits..... if they can fight just show it without these things..... John Wick has a lot of violent fight scenes but did they do it with shaky cameras and lots of edits? No they didn't.... this is the reason why Jackie Chan hated the American editing because it's very obvious that they don't know how to fight without editing and moving cameras......
Cap's hand to hand combat is so satisfying to watch. Some of the best fight scenes ever made on the big screen. Fast, clean and effective. It never gets old.
Just realized the scene from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier where the new Captain America kills one of the super soldiers is what could have happened to Tony in that last clip from Civil War. Zemo is right when he says there can never be someone like Steve Rogers

If you look closely when watching the party fight scene from Age of Ultron, you can see that when Hawkeye throws Cap's shield, he has trouble throwing it upwards and can't throw it as fast as cap. This really shows Cap's strength.
You want to go further then the Russo brothers I'm sure they were also inspired by the fighting style in the crappy movie tie in game that was done for Captain America: The First Avenger
Whos here after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier? Also, at the end of this video, Steve could've easily killed Tony with his shield. But Steve knew that hes not the kind of person who kills anyone. Instead, he puts the shield on Tony's arc reactor so that the suit will shut down. And Steve walked away with his old friend, Bucky, drops the shield, and walks away peacefully, like what a true hero should. Whereas John Walker? When one of the flagsmashers killed his partner, John Walker became ballistic with rage, and so hes targeting every last one of them until they're all dead.. As a bonus, he even recreated the Steve Rogers version of Captain America: Civil War with the shield up, except John Walker actually killed someone from the flagsmashers. So Yeaaahhh....😬😬😬😬😬
i love the way his fighting style improved from 1940 to present day. From straight punching, kneeing and pushkicking to jiujitsu, spinkicks and other more advanced moves. It just shows that Cap was always improving and adapting to his new surroundings and opponents.
If you look some of the avengers concept art from 2012 it showed cap with visible ears and a different font A on his mask. Why didn’t they go with that. It looked badass
Definitely, he was built more powerful in the first Avenger too. By the time Avengers came around he looked like a pretty boy fitness model: too skinny. The First Avenger costume was the best one.
@@KUROSHURA The Avengers costume was actually a modified tactical suit from shield. It has insane functionality and protects cap super well. The only reason it looks silly is because Coulson was a super nerd for classic heroes. Hence the classic looking costume
I like to think after his fight with Loki and the invasion of New York, Cap realized his traditional way of fighting wasn’t going to cut it anymore. So when he joined Shield he undertook further martial arts training so he could fight smarter, not harder. Which compliments his “work smarter, not harder” style of getting things done.

What really gets to me is that at 12:08 Tony covers his face, he actually thought Cap was angry enough to go for his head and kill him there and then
I think its more because he currently only gave a shit about bucky.
@@mellr0 I love this analysis.

Dude's been through one of the greatest wars in human history, how can he not be savage?
fbiuzz did you see him in the first movie that wasn't savage
Then he starts breaking bones in winter soldier
I just admire the fact that he conformed to the present style of fighting
Actually he was, anytime you see a soldier flying through the air by Cap's punches, they probably suffering massive internal bleeding and shattered bones.
The winter soldier boat scene was when I fully realized how strong and badass Cap was. Before that, I thought he was just a guy that could throw a shield pretty good lol
To be fair, Captain America literally only had a week or so of combat training, so he is mostly relying on his superhuman attributes to get through The First Avengers and Avengers movie. Its in Winter Soldiers onward that he was able to combine his superhuman abilities combine with actual combat skill.
That and the elevator scene made cap look bad ass Af
That is not a good enough reason to clarify the difference in choreography. Captain America took a super soldier serum that increased his potential to the peak of human prowess with only some feats of superhuman like for example, using his vibranium shield to cushion superhuman landing which would have easily killed any normal human beings. During Captains America service in WW2, he developed and learned
plenty of viable close combat experience and leadership skills. You saying that he had only a week or so of combat training in between The First Avengers and The Avengers movie is silly because Captain America
spent years with his Howling Commandoes raiding all of German and Hydra outposts.
I think that's just attributed to the better choreography team XD
Endgame Cap is i think lesser strong than Cap before
cause of stress I think and exhaustion
Which makes sense, since he’s a super soldier it also amplifies how fast he learns new skills, his fighting style in the first movie is somewhat different to the winter soldier style, because in the second movie he had to become familiar with more modern martial arts.

Fighting Cap must be terrifying. After years of facing humans who lived inside the realm of possibility, you suddenly have a dude who doesn't bother with guns and can send people *flying* with his punches.
Henchmen have it rough.
I know it's all choreography, but Chris Evans will be a bit of a seasoned martial artist by the end of the entire Marvel series.
i like how u used "seasoned"
Well... Chris Evens is only "Fighting" when the camera is on his face... BUt the rest is his stunt double
AJ Nappy actually it isn’t, he does most of his own. They couldn’t even have someone stand in for him when he’s running because he has a very distinctive way of moving. There’s a lot of behind the scenes vids showing him practising with Bucky, and the elevator fight scene.
