Yeah, basmu is a cool gun. I kinda like to use it sometimes, as it's not the strongest one out there. I rolled my riven with crit chance and magazine capacity, with negative something I don't remember.. Makes the crits highly consistent, and my only build is about the same as yours (the viral one) except I think I run hammer shot instead of bane. I just hate bane mods in general, cos it's annoying to swap them around between factions, and they do nothing against some enemies like acolytes and sentients. Overall even with my setup when the gun has way more quality of life, it still preforms well enough. Also one really bad thing about the gun is it's low accuracy at range or when not ads'ing. That said, I prefer to go with merciless arcane.
You didn't mention that the reload mechanic heals you as well as resetting sentient resistances. Which makes no sense btw, same as shedu, its a sentient weapon that has a crippling effect to sentients but whatever.

I use my Basmu as a Cold-debuff and lifesteal option. It's really absurd how busted it can be with 100%+ status and the new Radiation mod too. I don't have a Riven for it, and this has done just fine for me.
Picked this gun up during the event using Rhino as a Mr 11 and was nuking the steel path effervo because the dots and spread was just too much I can’t imagine if I was able to forms and properly build it what I would’ve witnessed
I've had it since scarlet spear, and never understood how good it is. I will definitely be trying it out. It does help that I have a really good riven with -reload

I dont know to be honest. It feels like almost everything could work. My ideal would probably be multishot/crit damage/damage to grineer and a negative which isnt too far from what I got. But status chance is good, base damage is good since you dont want elemental damage on it because its gonna get less DOT procs and therefore less total damage. Crit chance will improve slash procs but i am personally using arcane avenger to force the crits to happens so i dont need it. There is a lot of theorycrafting when it comes to riven for this gun since its so different
@@darkmugetsu6572 this gun has high disposition so adding elemental to the riven will give too much damage to elementals and therefore not proc its innate elec/heat and lose damage. Your riven needs to avoid elemental damage

Nourish is the general choice with energy nexus you can pretty much infinitely spam tempest barrage. If you were to use guns with him mainly then this basmu setup and xw would do miracles with his innate corrosive buffs by replacing his 4 and using precision intensify. For even more damage on this basmu as well you could use purple shards for +electric primary damage. I actually use blast for the alt fire paired with the topaz ones for shield charging. Having 2 of them and alt firing into a crowd pretty much gives your entire shield back instantly it's pretty whack
in all of your builds ive seen u using serration and galvanized aptitude together, does their damage stack or u just use it for killing the first enemies?
Not all of the builds, just some guns that have multiplicative gun CO from aptitude. On this gun specifically the DOT procs im looking for are produced from the gun itself as innate heat and electricity therefore serration becomes extra valuable here to boost these dot procs
I never thought I would see the Basmu this powerful I will say, what does the build look like rivenless? A bane and extra CD can add a lot of power, and not everyone can use/is willing to use rivens If you run it on Xaku or Rhino you could probably add another elemental buff like Nourish> Since Saryn's Toxic Lash works like Xata's Whisper I imagine she could make this gun pretty insane Frost for some reason grants multiplicative CC to the primary fire.
Interesting bug with frost. I think you wouldn't want any damage buff ability on this gun though because it will then give you way less chance to proc heat or electricity and therefore lower the damage of the triple DOT so for rhino its a no. But i think if you go nourish xaku and use the build i normally use on rhino that could yield insane results
@WispGraxx saryns toxic lash works similarly to xatas whisper and doesn't overwrite any elements it just adds forced toxin damage procs so you can still proc all the other DoTs
But sir deadhead does not stack, if the enemy dies to a status effect, unless its a status effect that can deal headshots (gas & electric) see bleeds and heat cannot.
You are correct, on the roar build i actually have merciless and brainfarted. But on xata's whisper i think the damage is enough to grant you a bit of stackin

I have been using the Basmu since its first release with the event where the prints would drop from the missions that combined planetary team and railjack team. not really used any other primary since then unless a sortie where I am forced to equip a shotgun bow or sniper etc. Sadly whilst this is a great video it means that popularity of the weappon will increase and then DE will nerf the riven dispo which right now is pretty good.
give it a little while and other youtubers will take note of your excellent review and wake up to a weapon that is every bit is good as you have demontrated it to be....but not meant in any way a cromplaint. the Basmu truly does deserve some attention and your video as i already stated was an excellent show case of what it can do. I use it in Stell Path the netracel missions and hour long arbitrations without any downside ....plus i never need to worry about ammo conservation of mod to comensate for ammo deficiencies.....also keep up the good work :)@@WispGraxx
You kinda saw it on the last 2 heavy gunners i shot at the roar test but why would I do that when the whole idea is the synergies my build has with the abiltiies? I built around what kind of damage my abilities provide so why would I use the gun without these abilities

god rolls to me are rivens that can condense elementals so you can have more mod capacity to fit on additional ideal mods.
