Hi! Thanks so much! :) At the moment it's not, but you can still use the gimbal with 3rd party apps, it just means you'll have to touch the phone itself to start/stop recording etc. I think Freevision might be trying to talk to Filmic Pro though, so hopefully that will be added in the future.

Opinion: Pro vs SE? I have been debating between the osmo 3 smooth 4 and the freevision options. Your videos make me want to do the Freevision options. But I like that the other two brands allow for the Filmic Pro interaction.
I own the Osmo 3 and really like it. But I also had bought the smooth 4 and though it has a lot of features, it would not do a 3x3 pano like the Osmo. It was an app issue according to the company. Not sure when it will be fixed. I use that feature a lot therefore I returned it. Disappointed they have not corrected the issue by now. So, I am now going to try this model, the Pro version. Will see how it goes.
Thanks so much :) To be completely honest I haven't tried it with wide angle lenses much...only one screw on 16mm lens and the motor did show up so I had to slide the phone out a bit to the left and use counterbalance weights on the side arm, but after that it did work. I suspect it will be mostly the same with any gimbal in this form factor for the most part.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to try it on Android, but yea- you should be able to use it with something like Filmic Pro you just won't get the communication between the gimbal and the app for things like start/stop recording, motion time lapse, tracking, zoom etc. Straight recording should be fine though and of course all the follow modes on the gimbal should still be accessible.

Too cute! 🤗 Taking better videos of my kids is the main reason I'm in the market for a smartphone gimbal so that just made your review that much more relatable for me. Thanks! Can you fit the phone in with a protective cover on? I have a Pixel 3 with an Otterbox Defender case and I won't use a smartphone gimbal half as often if I have to go to the trouble of removing the case.
Hi! Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it :) It's hard to say about the phone case without actually trying it, but it might be tricky with anything too thick. It probably depends a little bit on the shape too, but ideally a "naked" phone would be best.
I bought my first gimbal a couple of weeks ago and now wish to get a small mini tripod, to hold it, say on a table top. Which would you recommend please ? You always see gimbals mounted on wee, small plastic tripods .. but are these the best bet. thank you
Hi! Recently most gimbals will come with a mini tripod, I'm curious which gimbal you got? In any case, depending on the weight of the gimbal, almost any cheap mini tripod on Amazon or B&H should do the trick.
Hi! Just as a first check- are you sure the phone was balanced before turning the power on? If not, the extra stress on the motors could cause it to shut down. That would be my best guess :)
Short and sweet! Well done Scott. I like the simplicity and compactness of the original Vilta-M. This new one seems like a direct competitive produce with ZY Smooth 4. To me, more buttons and dials = more points of failure.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I still do prefer the original myself just because I'm in the habit of adjusting everything by touching the phone anyway haha. It's fun to have the options for the dolly zoom effect and things like that sometimes though. It's very similar to the Smooth 4, but something about it just felt better... maybe the shape of the grip or the placement of the buttons... I feel like it's as compact as could be compared to how much is in there, but the Smooth 4 felt large and kind of clunky. Either way, I'm definitely in the same boat as you- simple is best and the original Vilta-M is just so small and well made, hard to dislike it :)

@@kromide3d Well I'm happy they could be helpful! :) To be honest, the Mini-Mi worked very well for me too, never really had any bad experiences with it. I do prefer the Freevision, but the Moza is a close second (or third at this point I guess since there's a second FV model now)
I am thinking about buying a gimbal and it seems nearly everybody talks about either the DGI Osma 2 or the Zhiyun Smooth 4. You would think these are the only two options on the market. I have a Nokia 7+ phone, but it always seems Android phones are not good with gimbals. Somebody actually suggested I take a look at the Freevision Vilta M, which is how I found your video. It does look to be good, I do fancy the full 360 degree tuning option. How would you rate the gimbal on Android ? Doing a bit more research, I see there is now a M Pro version ... Agh ! too much choice
Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting :) Unfortunately I haven't tried it much on Android myself, but I've heard it works decently- at least better than a lot of other apps do. The good news is that both the M and M-Pro use the same app so either way should be a similar experience. I love both gimbals- for me the simpler M works best but for people who want more potential creativity, the M-Pro is a great choice still. Smooth 4 was very large and the buttons aren't laid out in the best way, for me at least. They're a little uncomfortable to reach while holding the gimbal and parts like the wheel feel cheaper than the Vilta M Pro. I haven't tried the Osmo, but in the store it didn't feel overly impressive or special. I think people just enjoy that they've integrated with Filmic Pro, and I think they're the only ones at the moment. I've heard that Freevision is in talks with Filmic Pro but I don't know for sure, and who knows what will come of it. Hope that helps! Sorry I can't comment more specifically on the Android side of things.

Scott Dumas thank you! Again for your reply. Yes the live stream is a different beast and I always don’t have a camera man so you can see where the robotic tracking is a great help for monologues. I’m also thankful you took time to reply. Their customer support is difficult and said they wouldn’t help me and I bought from amazon and not the factory.
I'm really sorry to hear that's your experience with their support :( I've had good experiences but I do think a few of the people that I've worked with in the past have left the company so I'm not sure how they're managing now.
It did work when I tried it but it's possible the phone model or current firmware could have a problem. If everything is up to date my guess would be a compatibility issue with the phone you're using. Let them know about it (via Facebook maybe, they're usually most responsive there) and hopefully they can address the problem.

I have a question that may be commonplace but, I am new to all this. Does the App that goes with this Gimbal enable you to switch back and forth from front and rear camera while you are in the middle of shooting a video?
I have the Vilta M but the motor overheats after about 30mins of consistent use. Have you heard of others experiencing this? Is the Pro version more resilient?
That definitely shouldn't be the case. I'd recommend double checking that the phone is properly balanced BEFORE turning the motor on and if it is you definitely should not have to deal with overheating motors. If you still do, I'd contact Freevision.

I felt like this is more ergonomically comfortable, the Smooth 4 is a bit big and bulky. Features wise, they're similar but I like the FV app better, at least in my personal experience using both. Less buggy, more logical and easy to navigate.
I mean, you can... but you will just lose access to things like tracking or zoom which requires communication between the app and the gimbal. The Freevision app is pretty decent though- not Filmicpro level but it does ok.
I haven't used the Osmo myself besides just testing it in the store so it's hard to say in detail. From testing 5-10 other gimbals though, the differences basically come in their apps and the design. What you see is basically what you get with the Vilta, and I'm sure the Osmo as well... if the features look like what you'd personally need/use then I'd say go for it either way. The Vilta app works well and again, with DJI's reputation, I'm sure their app works well too. There are probably small differences in other ways, but I've never seen anything too significant. Mostly, I love the Vilta series because they are a good balance of a solid app, well designed physical layout that's easy to access all the buttons, and smooth response to movement for a good price.
@@ScottDumas Thank you. Yes, DJI is well known and I am new to this gimbal world and never heard of Vilta. The other brand I have compared to is FeiyuTech's Vimble 2 which has a built-in selfie stick. But it seems that the stability on that is not as good as Vilta M and Osmo 3 from other review. Anyway, thanks for your detailed response.
@@dearbulls I would say the FV VIlta is closer to the Osmo than the FeiyuTech ...I have reviewed that as well and did not enjoy it nearly as much. It has some nice points but did not feel as well made or full featured. Just from what I've seen, I'd probably call it close to a tie between the Vilta and Osmo ...and I actually like the original Vilta M the best. It was super well made, small and simiple but worked amazingly.
I wish I could tell you for sure, but with some counterweights it might work. At least as well as pretty much any other gimbal on the market would, no worse.

To get the barrel roll I just tilted it forward and used the joystick to get the roll. Not as controlled as a dedicated and automated inception mode, but it works :)

Thanks for watching! I've never used the Osmo myself, besides in the store, but I'd probably say the Vilta M over the Atom, just because I got frustrated with the vertical tilt limitation. There are ways around it but they're both great so I'd have to be picky :)

@@tristan0129 I have tried the Atom, but not the Benro. I think if they're very similar, I would choose based on price and company/product reviews/feedback. I'm not sure which company has better support. In my experience, Freevision has been pretty good, support wise, and the original Vilta M is still one of my favorite gimbals overall. Less features, but solid and feels good, fairly compact. :) Choosing a gimbal is a hard and personal choice unfortunately haha. If there's anything specific you'd like to know though let me know and I'll do what I can to help :)
Not at the moment. Not sure if that will be introduced in the future, but for now you can at least use the gimbal itself (follow modes still work, for example) together with the stock camera or a 3rd party app like Filmic Pro, but the buttons won't control the app, you can't zoom or other software based things like that.

Hi! As far as I know there is no integration for FilmicPro with the Vilta M Pro yet. Hopefully they will update that but for the moment you won't get any communication between the gimbal and the app :(

Thanks so much! The Pro does indeed have portrait mode :) This gimbal in particular was sent to me a couple of months ago, before the final production units were made and ready to actually sell. From what I was told, mine was identical to the final product except the materials on a few parts of it but nothing that would impact the review, just small revisions they were planning I guess. Does the SE also have Portrait mode? How would you compare these two? Build quality definitely matters to me also. Thank you again!!
The SE does have portrait mode, but I'm not sure about build quality. The original M was incredibly well made, the M Pro is also pretty nice but I think the original was a little nicer (a very small difference). I suspect the SE is almost the same as the M Pro, so not quite as solid as the original, but still the same or nicer than most others on the market.
That's one of the few I haven't had a lot of hands on experience with, but from the little that I have I'd say the Vilta-M/Pro is better. The wheel gives you more precise control over things like zoom, there are more buttons to take control of settings directly (which are honestly wasted on me because I always forget to use them) and to me, at least, it feels slightly better quality. Not to say the Osmo 2 is bad, but I personally would lean towards Freevision, either the original or the pro.
I haven't tried it myself but you can use it with 3rd party apps and keep all the functions of the gimbal itself (it will still stabilize the camera, you can use the different follow modes, move it with the joystick etc), but you won't be able to use the buttons to stop/start recording, do motion time lapse or things like that.
Scott Dumas So if go with iphoneXR, which one is better without any extra weight? M, Mpro or SE? I know it's been long since M had released but it seemed to be pretty classic?
@@ellenyzs2269 I haven't tried it myself, but without any extra lenses or anything they should all work ok I think. For me, I still love the M... like you said it's classic in a nice way... small, so easy to bring along, awesome quality build and stabilization and nice and simple. I don't personally use all the extras the Pro offers so a simpler version is the best for me.
I can't remember what's in the app exactly without the gimbal in my hands, and I'm guessing there's a good chance you did already try this but- if you haven't, try calibrating it in the app. If you do that carefully it should help. If not, is there manual horizon correction available? I know some apps have had it but can't recall about the Vilta...
Sorry to hear your experience. I know from time to time with different versions of the app compatibility with different Android phones can be affected and it's hard to get it working all across the line. They should take the user input more seriously though, and in my experience they have. Sorry again to hear your experience.
The Freevision Vilta-M Pro is very smooth and I like all the features that it gives you. However, the app doesn't always work properly so those extra features were useless. I paired it with my Galaxy S10+ this week on a family trip and the bluetooth connection, wireless charging, manual controls were glitchy and no 4k 60 fps support either was a bummer. Come on Samsung! Lol I shot a whole day with the kiddos thinking I was at 60fps. On my 2nd day I figured out that to get 60fps I have to use the phone's set-up instead of the Freevision's app. What is also weird is that my record button on the gimbal does nothing. I record by either pressing the camera button or by pressing the button on my screen. They really need to fix the app! On the plus side it's very smooth. Even as I ran the footage came out very smooth. This gimbal makes me want to shoot more video. It's light and feels really good in your hand. If Freevision fixed their app and Samsung released 4k 60fps to 3rd parties it would be nearly perfect. Thanks for the review bro and keepem coming.
Hey thanks for the input :) Yeah, from what I've heard gimbal apps in general can be frustrating for Android users. I guess it's trickier to design something that works with the huge range of phones available with different levels of permissions on each as to what they can do. Hope it gets worked out though. I'd actually suggest you let them know exactly what your experience with it has been through Facebook or email, they're usually pretty responsive and the try hard to use feedback like that and address the problems, at least with what is within their power :) Glad to hear it's motivated you to shoot more video though! That's a success in my book haha. Hope you continue to enjoy it :)
Great review! but the app does not work on my Huawei p20 pro😡so I can't use full functionality of the Gimbal and if I can't what's the point of having one so I guess I will be returning it without even trying it☹️ so sad that everything on the market is iPhone oriented! Why😠

Thanks so much! :) I appreciate that I haven't been able to try the SE yet unfortunately, I think the extra price would just come down to the extra features, if you think you'll use them- a wheel to control focus, full control of the menu from buttons on the handle. Me, personally, I could live without those things, but they do help for a lot of people and there are some things you just can't do as well without them. My personal pick is still the original M, I just like how compact and well made it is, but the SE does have some extras like wireless charging I think so that could be nice to have as well. Sorry if that doesn't really give you a clear answer? haha... let me know if you have any specific questions :)
@@ScottDumas Thanks for your reply and opinion. The SE doesn’t have wireless charging, its panning angle is 320 degree. it also doesn’t have the trigger button like on the M and M Pro. I never owned a gimbal before so I’m not sure if I can live without the trigger button and 360 degree panning angle. What I wish the Vilta M has is the Potrait and Landscape swift. Thoughts?
Ah got it, sorry- I don't think the lack of the trigger will be much of a problem, another button will take over the same function. The trigger might feel a little more natural or easy to use, but it's not a big deal at all. If you do want to quickly go between portrait and landscape, that might be a bigger problem. With the original Vilta-M though, you can do it, you just have to hold the handle of the gimbal out to the side. If you go more than about 45 degrees to the side, the phone will automatically switch to portrait mode. You might get more tired holding it that way, but it is a very quick way to get portrait orientation if that's what you want. Being able to turn the actual clip to that orientation on the SE or Pro will be very nice though if you plan to use it that way very often. As for the 320 panning angle limit... honestly I don't think it will be too much of a problem unless you want some very specific type of shots. I've hardly ever taken advantage of the full 360 degree rotation and I wouldn't miss it frankly. Maybe some other users would disagree but that's me. Overall if the landscape/portrait thing isn't a huge point, I'd still recommend the original. It's tiny and very well made. If you do want the turnable phone clip though, the SE might be a nice choice. The Pro might be overkill... it's nice, no doubt, but it might be overkill. Let me know if that helps! :)
@@ScottDumas I agree with you about the pro that might be overkill, those extra features (wheel, buttons) are nice to have but I can live without those things. Your advice helps a lot, thanks so much for that. Now it drops down to Vilta M and Vilta SE. Do these specs really matter to you: Vilta SE: Tilting Angle: 320, Rolling Angle: 315 Vs Vilta M: Tilting Angle: 115-125, Rolling angle: 45-90. Sorry if my question is a bit too specific haha. @@suncai Haha no worries at all of course... I've never been bothered by it at all, to the point that I didn't even realize the Vilta M was that restricted to be honest. For some people it might be more limiting but for me not at all :)
I'd go with the Vilta Pro myself. I think the Smooth 4 is great, feels well made, has a lot of features etc... but it wasn't as comfortable in the hand, it's larger and in terms of features I wouldn't say it has more, at least not in any significant way. The feel of the focus wheel on the Vilta Pro is better as well, if that's something you find yourself using, and it has an annoying issue with some weird angles that I find in Zhiyun gimbals but not Freevision's. Neither are bad but I definitely wouldn't feel the need to switch :)
I'd have to double check to be sure but they do have different "responsiveness" settings- for running, walking and action (I think those were the choices) You can tweak your follow speed settings even further manually if you'd like too
@@ScottDumas it actually does have sport mode. Yup imma keep this and not go with the smooth 4.. The only pro of the smooth 4 is the white color option and the filmic pro integration ... If they add filmic pro that will put this gimbal over the top

That's because of the wide angle lens added on the phone. I just used the phone's standard lens. If you use a wide angle lens with this or pretty much any gimbal that can be a problem Sliding the phone more to the left side and using a counterweight can help and I've done it myself with this gimbal.
I actually just finished a giveaway that did feature a gimbal as a prize, but at the moment I don't have anything going on. Stick around and maybe one will come up again sometime :)

Opinion: Pro vs SE? I have been debating between the osmo 3 smooth 4 and the freevision options. Your videos make me want to do the Freevision options. But I like that the other two brands allow for the Filmic Pro interaction.
I own the Osmo 3 and really like it. But I also had bought the smooth 4 and though it has a lot of features, it would not do a 3x3 pano like the Osmo. It was an app issue according to the company. Not sure when it will be fixed. I use that feature a lot therefore I returned it. Disappointed they have not corrected the issue by now. So, I am now going to try this model, the Pro version. Will see how it goes.
Awesome video. What about phones with super wide angle lenses? Does the motor part of the gimbal get in the view?
Thanks so much :) To be completely honest I haven't tried it with wide angle lenses much...only one screw on 16mm lens and the motor did show up so I had to slide the phone out a bit to the left and use counterbalance weights on the side arm, but after that it did work. I suspect it will be mostly the same with any gimbal in this form factor for the most part.

There is manual mode included in the app and for the slow motion shots I shot in a higher frame rate and slowed it down in post :)

I hear app crashes on android? M Pro apparently the same. Can I use gimbal features through Filmic Pro, especially manual mode?
Unfortunately I haven't been able to try it on Android, but yea- you should be able to use it with something like Filmic Pro you just won't get the communication between the gimbal and the app for things like start/stop recording, motion time lapse, tracking, zoom etc. Straight recording should be fine though and of course all the follow modes on the gimbal should still be accessible.

Too cute! 🤗 Taking better videos of my kids is the main reason I'm in the market for a smartphone gimbal so that just made your review that much more relatable for me. Thanks! Can you fit the phone in with a protective cover on? I have a Pixel 3 with an Otterbox Defender case and I won't use a smartphone gimbal half as often if I have to go to the trouble of removing the case.

It's hard to say about the phone case without actually trying it, but it might be tricky with anything too thick. It probably depends a little bit on the shape too, but ideally a "naked" phone would be best.

Hi! Recently most gimbals will come with a mini tripod, I'm curious which gimbal you got? In any case, depending on the weight of the gimbal, almost any cheap mini tripod on Amazon or B&H should do the trick.

Hi! Just as a first check- are you sure the phone was balanced before turning the power on? If not, the extra stress on the motors could cause it to shut down. That would be my best guess :)

Short and sweet! Well done Scott. I like the simplicity and compactness of the original Vilta-M. This new one seems like a direct competitive produce with ZY Smooth 4. To me, more buttons and dials = more points of failure.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I still do prefer the original myself just because I'm in the habit of adjusting everything by touching the phone anyway haha. It's fun to have the options for the dolly zoom effect and things like that sometimes though. It's very similar to the Smooth 4, but something about it just felt better... maybe the shape of the grip or the placement of the buttons... I feel like it's as compact as could be compared to how much is in there, but the Smooth 4 felt large and kind of clunky. Either way, I'm definitely in the same boat as you- simple is best and the original Vilta-M is just so small and well made, hard to dislike it :)

@@kromide3d Well I'm happy they could be helpful! :) To be honest, the Mini-Mi worked very well for me too, never really had any bad experiences with it. I do prefer the Freevision, but the Moza is a close second (or third at this point I guess since there's a second FV model now)
I am thinking about buying a gimbal and it seems nearly everybody talks about either the DGI Osma 2 or the Zhiyun Smooth 4. You would think these are the only two options on the market.
I have a Nokia 7+ phone, but it always seems Android phones are not good with gimbals. Somebody actually suggested I take a look at the Freevision Vilta M, which is how I found your video.
It does look to be good, I do fancy the full 360 degree tuning option.
How would you rate the gimbal on Android ?

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting :) Unfortunately I haven't tried it much on Android myself, but I've heard it works decently- at least better than a lot of other apps do. The good news is that both the M and M-Pro use the same app so either way should be a similar experience. I love both gimbals- for me the simpler M works best but for people who want more potential creativity, the M-Pro is a great choice still. Smooth 4 was very large and the buttons aren't laid out in the best way, for me at least. They're a little uncomfortable to reach while holding the gimbal and parts like the wheel feel cheaper than the Vilta M Pro. I haven't tried the Osmo, but in the store it didn't feel overly impressive or special. I think people just enjoy that they've integrated with Filmic Pro, and I think they're the only ones at the moment. I've heard that Freevision is in talks with Filmic Pro but I don't know for sure, and who knows what will come of it.

Scott Dumas thank you! Again for your reply. Yes the live stream is a different beast and I always don’t have a camera man so you can see where the robotic tracking is a great help for monologues. I’m also thankful you took time to reply. Their customer support is difficult and said they wouldn’t help me and I bought from amazon and not the factory.
I'm really sorry to hear that's your experience with their support :( I've had good experiences but I do think a few of the people that I've worked with in the past have left the company so I'm not sure how they're managing now.
Have you tried tried the panos? I have this gimbal and the 3x5 does not work. It either fails with error or if it works it doesnt show half the image.
It did work when I tried it but it's possible the phone model or current firmware could have a problem. If everything is up to date my guess would be a compatibility issue with the phone you're using. Let them know about it (via Facebook maybe, they're usually most responsive there) and hopefully they can address the problem.

I have a question that may be commonplace but, I am new to all this. Does the App that goes with this Gimbal enable you to switch back and forth from front and rear camera while you are in the middle of shooting a video?
Hi! No worries... it does have the option to switch the cameras but not while recording (at least on my iPhone X)

I have the Vilta M but the motor overheats after about 30mins of consistent use. Have you heard of others experiencing this? Is the Pro version more resilient?
That definitely shouldn't be the case. I'd recommend double checking that the phone is properly balanced BEFORE turning the motor on and if it is you definitely should not have to deal with overheating motors. If you still do, I'd contact Freevision.

How would you rate this against say the zhiyun smooth 4?
I felt like this is more ergonomically comfortable, the Smooth 4 is a bit big and bulky. Features wise, they're similar but I like the FV app better, at least in my personal experience using both. Less buggy, more logical and easy to navigate.

I mean, you can... but you will just lose access to things like tracking or zoom which requires communication between the app and the gimbal. The Freevision app is pretty decent though- not Filmicpro level but it does ok.

I haven't used the Osmo myself besides just testing it in the store so it's hard to say in detail. From testing 5-10 other gimbals though, the differences basically come in their apps and the design. What you see is basically what you get with the Vilta, and I'm sure the Osmo as well... if the features look like what you'd personally need/use then I'd say go for it either way. The Vilta app works well and again, with DJI's reputation, I'm sure their app works well too. There are probably small differences in other ways, but I've never seen anything too significant. Mostly, I love the Vilta series because they are a good balance of a solid app, well designed physical layout that's easy to access all the buttons, and smooth response to movement for a good price.

The other brand I have compared to is FeiyuTech's Vimble 2 which has a built-in selfie stick. But it seems that the stability on that is not as good as Vilta M and Osmo 3 from other review. @@dearbulls I would say the FV VIlta is closer to the Osmo than the FeiyuTech ...I have reviewed that as well and did not enjoy it nearly as much. It has some nice points but did not feel as well made or full featured. Just from what I've seen, I'd probably call it close to a tie between the Vilta and Osmo ...and I actually like the original Vilta M the best. It was super well made, small and simiple but worked amazingly.

I wish I could tell you for sure, but with some counterweights it might work. At least as well as pretty much any other gimbal on the market would, no worse.

To get the barrel roll I just tilted it forward and used the joystick to get the roll. Not as controlled as a dedicated and automated inception mode, but it works :)

@@tristan0129 I have tried the Atom, but not the Benro. I think if they're very similar, I would choose based on price and company/product reviews/feedback. I'm not sure which company has better support. In my experience, Freevision has been pretty good, support wise, and the original Vilta M is still one of my favorite gimbals overall. Less features, but solid and feels good, fairly compact. :) Choosing a gimbal is a hard and personal choice unfortunately haha. If there's anything specific you'd like to know though let me know and I'll do what I can to help :)

Not at the moment. Not sure if that will be introduced in the future, but for now you can at least use the gimbal itself (follow modes still work, for example) together with the stock camera or a 3rd party app like Filmic Pro, but the buttons won't control the app, you can't zoom or other software based things like that.
On an email, they told me they were in "conversations" with filmic pro..we shall see.

Ich versuche das seit Wochen, aber die besonderen Funktionen wie z.B..Zoom mit den Drehrad funktionieren bei mir nicht! Meine ganze Suche hat bisher noch keine Lösung hervor gebracht! Und da FiLMiC Pro doch das meiner Ansicht nach beste Programm ist mag ich es auch nicht weglegen.

Hello Scott, I would be very interested if you managed to connect Vilta: M-Pro with FiLMiC Pro? I've been trying this for weeks, but the special features such as. Zoom with the wheel do not work for me! My whole search has not brought any solution yet! And since FiLMiC Pro is the best program in my opinion, I do not like to put it down.

Hi! As far as I know there is no integration for FilmicPro with the Vilta M Pro yet. Hopefully they will update that but for the moment you won't get any communication between the gimbal and the app :(

I don't think it is unfortunately. I believe you should be able to use FP with it of course, but the gimbal and app won't connect/communicate.

Thanks so much! The Pro does indeed have portrait mode :) This gimbal in particular was sent to me a couple of months ago, before the final production units were made and ready to actually sell. From what I was told, mine was identical to the final product except the materials on a few parts of it but nothing that would impact the review, just small revisions they were planning I guess. The SE does have portrait mode, but I'm not sure about build quality. The original M was incredibly well made, the M Pro is also pretty nice but I think the original was a little nicer (a very small difference). I suspect the SE is almost the same as the M Pro, so not quite as solid as the original, but still the same or nicer than most others on the market.

How does it compare to the Dji osmo mobile 2?
That's one of the few I haven't had a lot of hands on experience with, but from the little that I have I'd say the Vilta-M/Pro is better. The wheel gives you more precise control over things like zoom, there are more buttons to take control of settings directly (which are honestly wasted on me because I always forget to use them) and to me, at least, it feels slightly better quality. Not to say the Osmo 2 is bad, but I personally would lean towards Freevision, either the original or the pro.

I haven't tried it myself but you can use it with 3rd party apps and keep all the functions of the gimbal itself (it will still stabilize the camera, you can use the different follow modes, move it with the joystick etc), but you won't be able to use the buttons to stop/start recording, do motion time lapse or things like that.
Does it work on iPhone11 pro friend.
As far as I know it should. I haven't tried it myself but I don't see why not :)

For me, I still love the M... like you said it's classic in a nice way... small, so easy to bring along, awesome quality build and stabilization and nice and simple. I don't personally use all the extras the Pro offers so a simpler version is the best for me.

My Vilta-M is not getting perfectly horizontal. It's almost always disalligned, no matter what I do. I don't know how to fix it.
I can't remember what's in the app exactly without the gimbal in my hands, and I'm guessing there's a good chance you did already try this but- if you haven't, try calibrating it in the app. If you do that carefully it should help. If not, is there manual horizon correction available? I know some apps have had it but can't recall about the Vilta...
Vilta M Pro doesn't work with my S7 even tho listed compatible. I get a static image and audio only in playback. Support just said "try mode 2", #smh
Sorry to hear your experience. I know from time to time with different versions of the app compatibility with different Android phones can be affected and it's hard to get it working all across the line. They should take the user input more seriously though, and in my experience they have. Sorry again to hear your experience.

The Freevision Vilta-M Pro is very smooth and I like all the features that it gives you. However, the app doesn't always work properly so those extra features were useless. I paired it with my Galaxy S10+ this week on a family trip and the bluetooth connection, wireless charging, manual controls were glitchy and no
4k 60 fps support either was a bummer. Come on Samsung! Lol I shot a whole day with the kiddos thinking I was at 60fps. On my 2nd day I figured out that to get 60fps I have to use the phone's set-up instead of the Freevision's app. What is also weird is that my record button on the gimbal does nothing. I record by either pressing the camera button or by pressing the button on my screen. They really need to fix the app! On the plus side it's very smooth. Even as I ran the footage came out very smooth. This gimbal makes me want to shoot more video. It's light and feels really good in your hand. If Freevision fixed their app and Samsung released 4k 60fps to 3rd parties it would be nearly perfect. Thanks for the review bro and keepem coming.
Hey thanks for the input :) Yeah, from what I've heard gimbal apps in general can be frustrating for Android users. I guess it's trickier to design something that works with the huge range of phones available with different levels of permissions on each as to what they can do. Hope it gets worked out though. I'd actually suggest you let them know exactly what your experience with it has been through Facebook or email, they're usually pretty responsive and the try hard to use feedback like that and address the problems, at least with what is within their power :)

Do you have an American samsung? Because I read that the american uses another cpu which doesn't allow for full 3rd party app control.

Not directly... you could use it of course but you wouldn't get any communication between the gimbal and the app for things like motion time lapse, tracking etc.

I haven't been able to try the SE yet unfortunately, I think the extra price would just come down to the extra features, if you think you'll use them- a wheel to control focus, full control of the menu from buttons on the handle. Me, personally, I could live without those things, but they do help for a lot of people and there are some things you just can't do as well without them. My personal pick is still the original M, I just like how compact and well made it is, but the SE does have some extras like wireless charging I think so that could be nice to have as well.

The SE doesn’t have wireless charging, its panning angle is 320 degree. it also doesn’t have the trigger button like on the M and M Pro. I never owned a gimbal before so I’m not sure if I can live without the trigger button and 360 degree panning angle. What I wish the Vilta M has is the Potrait and Landscape swift. Thoughts?
Ah got it, sorry- I don't think the lack of the trigger will be much of a problem, another button will take over the same function. The trigger might feel a little more natural or easy to use, but it's not a big deal at all. If you do want to quickly go between portrait and landscape, that might be a bigger problem. With the original Vilta-M though, you can do it, you just have to hold the handle of the gimbal out to the side. If you go more than about 45 degrees to the side, the phone will automatically switch to portrait mode. You might get more tired holding it that way, but it is a very quick way to get portrait orientation if that's what you want. Being able to turn the actual clip to that orientation on the SE or Pro will be very nice though if you plan to use it that way very often.
As for the 320 panning angle limit... honestly I don't think it will be too much of a problem unless you want some very specific type of shots. I've hardly ever taken advantage of the full 360 degree rotation and I wouldn't miss it frankly. Maybe some other users would disagree but that's me.
Overall if the landscape/portrait thing isn't a huge point, I'd still recommend the original. It's tiny and very well made. If you do want the turnable phone clip though, the SE might be a nice choice. The Pro might be overkill... it's nice, no doubt, but it might be overkill.

Vilta SE: Tilting Angle: 320, Rolling Angle: 315
Vs
Vilta M: Tilting Angle: 115-125, Rolling angle: 45-90.

@@suncai Haha no worries at all of course... I've never been bothered by it at all, to the point that I didn't even realize the Vilta M was that restricted to be honest. For some people it might be more limiting but for me not at all :)
Vilta PRO vs smooth 4? Which one? I bought the vilta pro but I feel like the smooth 4 has more features
I'd go with the Vilta Pro myself. I think the Smooth 4 is great, feels well made, has a lot of features etc... but it wasn't as comfortable in the hand, it's larger and in terms of features I wouldn't say it has more, at least not in any significant way. The feel of the focus wheel on the Vilta Pro is better as well, if that's something you find yourself using, and it has an annoying issue with some weird angles that I find in Zhiyun gimbals but not Freevision's. Neither are bad but I definitely wouldn't feel the need to switch :)

Does the freevision pro offer phone go mode or sports mode? Where it adjust super quick to movements?
I'd have to double check to be sure but they do have different "responsiveness" settings- for running, walking and action (I think those were the choices) You can tweak your follow speed settings even further manually if you'd like too
@@ScottDumas it actually does have sport mode. Yup imma keep this and not go with the smooth 4.. The only pro of the smooth 4 is the white color option and the filmic pro integration ... If they add filmic pro that will put this gimbal over the top

That's because of the wide angle lens added on the phone. I just used the phone's standard lens. If you use a wide angle lens with this or pretty much any gimbal that can be a problem Sliding the phone more to the left side and using a counterweight can help and I've done it myself with this gimbal.
plz can anybody help me to stop the sleeping mode?it keep telling me sleeping mode is on press power button then it works for 3 sec then it stop
Is it balanced correctly? If the balance is off it may go into sleep mode to avoid overworking/damaging the motors.

Why does the Vilta Pro cost less than the Vilta M?
Probably because it's newer so less R&D than the first, and slightly cheaper (not necessarily in a bad way) materials. Just my guess though.
