I'm considering getting a Vilat M Pro for mostly smooth scenery and moving time lapse style shots. How well does it perform in those circumstances? I'm also looking at the DJI Mobile 3 and wondering if that's better...
The VILTA gimbals are as smooth and stable as any I have used. I didn't think I would use all the extra buttons but you quickly get used to them and it's nice not having to touch your phone all the time.I haven't used the moving time lapse style shots very much so I can't really comment. Honestly, it is really tough to buy a bad gimbal nowadays. They are all quite good. Do your research and pick one that best meets your needs and your budget and you'll likely be quite happy. I was there 2002--03, smartphones and vlogging equipments were not available at that time, I'm just using a digital camera those bulky Canon powershot s, anyway thanks for the info, I'm planning buying which you recommend for beginners on these models? btw I'm Lem from Philippines..

I found it to be jerky. I tested digital zoom using the knob and using my fingers with a reverse pinch for comparison. Both produced similar results. I don't know if it's due to the motion of the wheel, the movement caused by touching the device while shooting or just digital zoom in general. With care I could make it a bit smoother but it still wasn't great in my opinion but I'm picky.

Awesome! It's a great gimbal! I know there is an adapter plate you can buy that allows you to mount a GoPro in a smartphone gimbal. It's not made by Freevision, it's a third-party product. I can't think of the name of it but if you Google it you should be able find it. I have not used something like that personally but others have and it seemed to work ok for them. Steve, nice video. I have the original Villa M and matched with the iPhone XS, I do not get smooth footage when walking. It has a bumpy feel/look. Is there any way to rectify this?
Three axis gimbals don't full handle the up/down motion of walking/running. Gimbals are built to smooth motion on pan, tilt and roll axis only. They will dampen up/down motion a bit compared to no gimbal but it's not perfect. To get smooth shots while walking I modify my stride to eliminate as much as the up/down movement as possible. You will hear some RUclips Creator's talk about using a "ninja walk" while using a 3-axis gimbal. And it doesn't matter if your gimbal is a $99 mobile one or a $1000 rig for smoothing your DSLR footage, they all work the same. 😀👍

Do you know where I can get the FV Share app. I bought a Freevision gimbal a couple of years ago to use with my android phone .. it worked well Now I have updated to an iPhone, but for some reason the iOS version of the app is no longer available, which is of course very annoying. I can use it without the app, but there are now many features I can not use.
I just had the same experience about 6 months back. I believe Freevision is done as a company and so is the app for iOS. I literally just replaced my VILTA-M Pro last week because it no longer holds a charge. It was good while it lasted.
I use an iPhone XR (194g) with a Moment case (53.4) on the SE and M Pro without issue. On the original M, that combination exceeds the max payload. I use a Moment 18mm lens on the SE and M Pro with a counter weight and it seems to work fine. Of course though, that far exceeds the max payload. I have a query in to Freevision regarding using the Moment lenses and I haven't got a response yet.

Thanks! Good questions. As far as stability goes I couldn't discern any difference in stability between the three. They are all good. I kind of missed the VILTA-M's trigger at first but the same function is replicated on the SE by quick pressing the power button to cycle through gimbals modes, so it's not that big a deal. I got used to it quick. The VILTA-M is a more robust build compared to the SE but it's also heavier and more expensive. Good luck. 😀
Oh boy. That's a tough one but I would probably go with the SE. It's lighter, a bit longer (more reach), has the tripod legs and I like that I can store it flat even after setting the adjustment for my phone. It's all plastic where the VILTA-M is more metal construction but it's no different than most gimbals nowadays so I suspect it will hold up as well as any. It's also about $50 cheaper too. 😀

My dislike on how to face track, which button? There is none , so what is use of the buttons? Plus when you track and the person goes out of view , it will not re track , so not good gimbal
That is why it is alway best to watch multiple reviews. I rarely use the software or fancy features, I just want stabilized movement and that it does very, very well. Cheers! 😀
