      Jomashop seems like a good site to buy at lower cost but it is grey-market. I've yet to order off it but comments seems decent. The downside is that the warranty is serviced differently like through a 3rd party. Just some thoughts. The heart of any watch is the movement, the Omega is a derivative of the ETA 2892 (high end movement), the Helium escape valve is useful if going in deep water: the Helium may pop your crystal out!
    Your power reserve is sweet: even when not wearing your watch for a long weekend (3 days), you’re still in business. The additional gold bezel makes the tool watch more like higher end (Tudor to Rolex: kind of)

When you consider what's under the hood, I think the Oris is the better buy. You're right about choices with the different movements too as long as one can overlook the looser specs of the Sellita. • @anthonystevens8683
    @anthonystevens8683 2 года назад

    I have to agree with your views here Elizabeth but I'm a bit of an Oris fan along with some other brands. I've yet to see the gold bezel edge (thank you Oris for making this clear as it has a ceramic insert that isn't gold etc.) but I'll take a look at some point at the AD. I can say from experience that the calibre 400 is a cracking in house designed (not built, again thank you Oris for your honesty) movement, yes there is the time setting quirk that you set it 5 mins past the time to set then pull it back to take up gear slack (something I do when setting my watches anyway) so you don't see the 'minute hand twitch when inserting the crown. I love the slight fume dial fading to black at the edge and the dark surround of the date wheel. Personally I think the dial is the star of the show on many Oris watches. As for the bracelet I cannot comment on the 39.5 but the 41.5 it is extremely comfortable but I may get a genuine rubber strap to change things up. Your point on pricing is an interesting one that again I have to agree with, yes it's close to the Tudor and Omega offerings but neither of those have gold so if you compare like for like stainless steel the Oris still offers good value and that you have the choice of movement and size is a big bonus. Many thanks for a constructive balanced review.

    • @elizabeth_grant

Tudor omega when you sell brand recognition means value retention.. we have to remember we can go onto eBay and pick up an aquis with selita in great condition for a grand . If you never sell it’s inconsequential you buy what you want and can disregard value retention.

      @@mr.schultz2205 Sometimes I just work with what I have footage wise. It doesn’t have to be perfect as long as you get the idea.

    Not a huge fan of the aquas. The design does nothing for me.

    Love the color combo. Also glad they are using a more accurate movement. My Aquis with the Sellita movement isn't very accurate.
