I've covered courses on a freelance basis for royal mail and the number of times I 've arrived at depots and been able to walk straight in, find no staff in the sorting area and then wander from office to office trying to locate a manager or member of staff. Plenty of computers switch on with all types of info on display. On occasions when there have been staff about, I've not been challenged but with a shirt & tie, hi-vis, smart clothes and laptop bag they all think I'm a visiting manager. It is fair to say I have been to some depots where you have to sign in and go through security etc but they're not all like that, the worst being Oakham delivery office, even google street view shows the main gate wide open !
