I have visited many recycling center's over the years and I have never met a member of staff with an ounce of brain cells.
I cannot believe he really believes that something like "council permission" to film in public exists.
In my experience it’s usually a mistake to overestimate either the intellect or the integrity of anyone wearing hi-vis, especially if they’re employed by the local council. They assume virtually everything, but have neither the intelligence nor the knowledge to make any statement whatsoever with any certainty. They are the types of people that are gratified with the least possible information, and totally convinced by their own delusions.
Remember, around 80% of people, many far far smarter than that fool, allowed the government to mandate that they had a pointless medical procedure, and not only believed that it would protect them, but simultaneously believed that someone who had NOT had it could endanger them…!
So ultimately it doesn’t matter what they say they think, or whatever they actually think, because essentially, they don’t think. 👀🙄🧐😎😜🙈

Everyone and their clueless opinions. Most flytips are from cowboy builders or council estate jobseekers. Working people tend to pay to have items taken away if the scrap lads don't get it first.
This council refuse site isn't a public refuse site. The things taken here are rubbish bags the litter pickers accumulate or random items like microwaves that are picked up by the workers driving caged vans.

It would NEVER get to court, the council lawyers would have apoplexy watching the video , starting with no signage , he crossed NO barriers or gates, never identified himself , had no visible ID , NO idea of what law or even policy he THINKS he is enforcing .
Filming IS allowed on council land without a permit ( ONLY if it has been commissioned or for commercial use would you need one )
(My understanding of You Tube is it is NOT deemed commercial use , as if you put it up and no one watches the adverts , then no money will be paid to you . )
If you enter a commercial arrangement to create a film , you get paid by the client on delivery of the film , this is not the case with You Tube as You Tube never commissioned him to make a film nor to upload it , and YT never offered him any money to make it or upload it.
These council workers are legal loose cannons , and it’s local tax payers that will pay for their ignorance and STUPIDITY.
As poorly conceived approaches to a member of the public go, this is by far one of the most ill conceived i have yet seen!!!

Council land is public land it's owned and paid for by the public and is held in trust by the council meaning we are the beneficiary of anything the council holds is for our benefit. That said we never agreed for it to be put in a trust.

During the covidiocy I had to dump some bags of household waste at the recycling depot in Derby, but because they had ridiculous rules in place limiting the number of people allowed on site at one time, there was a long queue of 20-30 vehicles blocking the industrial estate!
After waiting in line for 20 minutes I parked up and walked into the site with two big bin bags full of the usual detritus of human existence.
As I did so I was harangued by multiple hi-vis monkeys shouting “No Pedestrians Allowed!”, “You’ll be in trouble when the manager finds out!”and warning me that I would be banned from site”!! So I just ignored them, walked past the gatehouse and straight to the household waste skip and threw them in.
Needless to say the Covids didn’t get me, I wasn’t in trouble with the manager, and I wasn’t banned from the site. Just ignoring them seemed like the best option. They apparently all have the same foul, entitled, assumptions fuelled attitude, and believe they possess powers that not even the pork have. Ludicrous behaviour.

Most certainly, I worked in one a few years ago, had to pay a token pound for a hoover for example, so that we couldn't be accused of stealing. The amount of working tvs that people throw out is unreal.

As a council employee myself. The vast majority do not know the difference between common law and civil law. Most are good people they just don't understand what is and isn't allowed. Don't be too harsh on them lol we do jobs most wouldn't.

Fact of the matter is... Nothing should be going there that isn't waste. This is the problem. People take things there that are VERY much sellable and useful and the workers have first pickings of them. There are workers that make second incomes from ebay by selling items. Plus they nick the scrap metal and sell it on. Before the council ran them, they were even more corrupt. The ONLY items that should be going there should be waste and recycling.
