Go to 07:10 for start of the comparison footage. Thanks for these videos. As someone who likes to just grab the drone and go out and fly instead of worrying about tuning and building the drone the Avata looks great for a small backpack whoop.
God bless you and your entire family 🙏🏾
yep - till you crash it. Mavic 2 / DJI FPV user here, who thought the same before getting a custom fpv.
Great video. Both have great video. Connection is better on the Avata so I would lean to DJI but would be happy with either.
Awesome. Just took delivery today of the Avata. Your videos are making me happy 😝 happy flying buddy 👍
You should see a proctologist
@@captainthruster9484 why?
I love the banter between both of your personalities at the end :) Great review!
Very helpful review with that comparison video. I think DJI is about 10% less in image quality to that of the GoPro, but about 100% more in features and ease of use at a cost of courses. I don’t think I’m ready to go the DJI route for commercial work just yet but my Cinewhoop system is pretty well established right now.
Thanks for the great video. I think you did a great job comparing the two. One big downside I see to the Squirt that you didn't mention is that if you do have a signal loss on it your done. The Avata having the return to home for someone who just flies behind a building and has total signal loss is a great help.
Very good Video Ken great editing on the comparison parts of the video. Well done..
the camera actually looks usable this time. Now they just need a bundle with the controller and not that stupid hand thing.
@@PhilGerb93 range is garbage 🗑
@@PhilGerb93 nope the vr dildo range is terrible I have 3 Avatas I’m in the US I just added them to my fleet of my videography business, I only ever fly with the actual FPV remote
Yeah, this is better than the DJI fpv drone in terms of HDR.
That last footage, arguing with yourself was priceless!
Great comparison video Ken and a great outro.
Great site-by-side review and thank you for sharing.
Ken you nailed that end 🤣👌 would be great to compare complete price of squirt + GP bones vs. Avata.
Great comparison video, loved the ending confrontation! Both have a place in your toolkit and a a Slammed Squirt flyer appreciate what the Avata can improve on, will need to wait a while before hitting the buy button.
it flies very smooth unlike the bigger brother without any additional stabilisation or camera attached to a mount
WOW phenomenal comparison video, i have a long range quad with a Hero 8 on top and It does great for the intended purpose, I'm pleasantly surprised with the video quality and flight time of the Avata I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival, thanks for sharing this!
Great comparison, Ken, and Fantastic ending, lol. I have no doubt that they’ll be third party foam/light leak solutions very soon.
Ken the non-stop Avata coverage is outstanding. Nothing remotely like it elsewhere. The Drone Brews yesterday also was by far the most-in depth discussion about it. DJI needs to send you out to the fjords and waterfalls too, lol.
LOL 😂 that would be cool but I have terrible flight anxiety
Great video and that tree gapping was amazing! Expert flying Dobo! This gives me a little more insight to if I’m going to buy the Avata but I’m not just jumping on drones these days when they just come out. DJI has been really funny on how they sell products and that Mavic 3 release was a disaster lol
Thanks for the info it was excellent bro
When you hype a new tech, I just know it's true! Generally been hearing good things about the Avata and must admit I'm impressed with how DJI nailed it with their first cinewhoop.
I love 💕 your brutally honest approach to reviews and comparison. I had fun hanging out with you at TDA Fpv fest back in April, I hate that you wiped out on the one wheel pint x when you first got there and had to change your shorts 🩳 😆 but we all had a good time either way. Great video! Can you please do a Real estate/ interiors comparison? I would like to see which one does better in low light and in your opinion handles better in tight indoor spaces. I am looking to add fpv to my own RE video capabilities. Thanks!

Nice review, just wish you also did a indoor test for a cinewhoop.
And chapters would be a nice addition to the video.
Thanks for your work on this!
No chapters shall be added
Great video 🙏🏻🙏🏻 🔥🔥🔥
Great comparison!
If they do release a new Air Unit for customs builds that is even close to the quality of camera on the Avata it's game over for all other HD FPV systems. I won't even feel bad about pulling and replacing all my Vista's and Air Units. The overlay of the DVR is nearly identical quality.
Yeah it’s going to be the Mike Tyson of air units knock out
Yeah a 300 buck air unit 🤣🤣🤣😅
@@GGrindelwald-iv2qn that’s not set in stone yet, but some people aren’t cheap and don’t mind paying for quality. Especially if you can eliminate a 150 gram GoPro from the front of every quad.
@@GGrindelwald-iv2qn cheaper than a go pro
@@meirvin you still nees to buy the new goggle 2 or hopping a retro compatibility with the v2
The skit at the end was great!!!
Thanks for this.
The one thing I missed was the cost comparison for the two systems. Assuming you bought a DJI system with goggles, battery etc. would this be more/less than a fully configured squirt with the goPro Bones?
Ken you are a content monster , I'm hyped about this release I haven't watched any other reviews apart from Ian s , stream and I'm still catching up with all your content on this drone. It's how it's done , respect .the mads tech team up
Loved the ending 🤣
Ken, I would love to know the total price of your Squirt, GoPro10 Bones, Battery, Goggles, and Controller to see TOTAL price comparison. Just to see how it stacks up. Great video...a LOT of work you did creating the side by side and all the comparison video. Appreciate the Herculean effort!
Avata's new O3+ video transmission was a major selling point to me. Thanks for the comparison! Really like the GoPro Bones but think the simplicity and solid range on the Avata (along with future firmware updates) are steps that keep moving the hobby forward. Now, let's just hope for some back-ward compatibility down the road. 👍👍
I almost missed it at the end of the video! That is some funny shit right there at the end. Great ass argument!
Great comparison. I think both do an excellent job. For me, the DJI would be better for a more stable flight. My fpv skills are still lacking where they need to be. Think I like the colors a little better on the GoPro, but both look great. Thank you.
Haha... the argument at the end. You sir earned a LIKE! Actually this was a good video, okay... you made a lot of excellent videos on the AVATA, I think you're top dog reviewing this thing. Thanks for the valuable insights. Cheers!
Dobo!!! DJI footage isn't bad at all!!! 👊🏽 Love the ending!!! 🤣🤣
Thanks Homie
I like that you wait for YT to render 4K before publishing.
Maybe a bit of low/twilight comparison next time? One of the reasons I use a GoPro on my DJI fpv is the really bad low light capabilities. You say - and I've seen on YT - that the Avata is much better but I've yet to see low light.
Is it YT or does the Avata mush up the grass more? Otherwise it's really good.
Trippy spin around those poles!
Hi Ken, great video as always, Im looking for the avata for real estate Im wondering if you think It would be the best option to start with that and then maybe get a cinebot 30 with the o3 system or just skip the avata an get in in a cinebot
Hi, amazing comparison and love the video that you have made. Can U please make a video of dji goggles 2 vs v2. Would love to C the difference between them as well
Yes, thank you, Ken
Always wanted a cinewhoop, but it was too complicated for me. DJI just nailed it. I will be buying one soon.
Sweet comparison! Thanks!
Question tho, are the goggles you've been using the DJI V2 goggles or are they a different brand? I find it interesting they came out with newer goggles for this drone but you can only get the higher frame rate by flying with the older V2 goggles.
The Avata looks very cool. I have never flowing FPV before.
The ending was legendary 😂😂
Wow! Thatvwas an amazing video! I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm a new drone pilot. I've been flying RC airplanes for over 30 years, but this drone hobby is Amazing and alotnof fun. I'm starting out with the Mavic air 2 as intro to the hobby and so far it been great. I've met alotnof really nice people in this hobby!. You have a new subscriber. I will also be joining your channel soon for more interesting stuff ✌️
What’s your thought on geofencing with the Avata? Also your thought on remote ID with the Avata? I see the Avata as something I’ll need in 12 months assuming the Avata has it built in.
Can you control the go pro remotely with the custom build? If not, I think that would be a huge win for the Avata.
just think that transmission system is coming in O3 Air, it stamps all over hdzero walksnail etc
Great content! I’ve just missed any comments on the price range, would you spend the same amount of money on these two?
excellent outtro! ha ha
Wow where did you get those custom parts for your v2 googles ??
what's the noise levels like between the avata and the custom build- i've heard the avata is loud, but idk if that means just loud compared to a mini 3, or loud compared to similar cinewhoops
Hey Bo!
Thanks for the video.
Do you know if the goggles of the avata work with dji fpv.
Could i get the avata and build my own cinewhoop and fly both with the goggles of the avata. One at a time of course:)
LOVE the ending! lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Both look awesome 👍😎. Looks like my hood. Weeki Wachee FPV.. we gotta ripp

“If you use a MC you shouldn’t be selling your footage” 😂😂😂😂.
But great content man your real estate playlist may have pushed me to pursue a more cinematic approach and hopefully accomplish what you have. Appreciate your content 🤘🏼
That Facebook thread took a left turn 🤣🤣🤣
Do it man pursue some cinematic stuff, it inspires me to film it and add flair. You’ll do really well
@@OriginaldoBo anything to do with the new systems is like adding gas to a fire. I personally think everything has its respected place in the hobby / industry. Either as a “toy” or a tool if something like the MC makes the job easier or less stressful for some than to each their own. Anyways appreciate you man I’m looking forward to learning some more from you
In the settings for the custom mode (M mode) can you set it up so that it's basically like S mode but uncap the max speed?
Thanks for the video! Is the improved transmission of the Avata related to the new Goggles 2? If I use the Avata on the current Goggles V2, do you think I can expect improved transmission as well?
yes,it's actually better penetration on the V2s
I’m on fence - want to get my first fpv style drone. would you say go for this cinelog 35 (w my go pro 9) or the dji avata?
I have zero drone building experience so this DJI Avata excites me!
What motor do you use on the squirt? You have the stl for 3d print squirt duck? Thanks for the video!
I want to build a whoop but how can I achieve flight time similar to the avata?
Thanks for the Vid, very interesting. Would be nice to see some Acro capabilities of the Avatar. Nothing crazy, just a Split-S over a tree or a power loop.
check Potato Jet he already looped it
nice stuff Dobo, you're not using nd filters are you?
Just putting around no but.. the minute I’m doing something for a purpose I put them on
Re transmission what if you use the old v2 goggles with avata? Will you still get better transmission compared to the squirt? Also can you do an indoor flight comparison with super slow flying?
Psst... let's just say that this might not be GoPro footage... Hopefully I don't get into trouble... facebook.com/100000682149555/videos/575951780847434/
Hii, may I know what background music you used while the drones are flying? Started at 7:15
I am totally FPV ignorant so maybe a dumb question, but what were you seeing in the goggles with the custom, was it a different camera or the signal taken from the Go Pro itself. I have a Mavic 3 and plan to attach my Go Pro 9 to it just for the point of view from the top of the drone. I have attached it to my Air 2 once and like the video, but didn't try to live stream from the Go Pro.
Can you add normal and sport mode to a custom?
5:08 caught me completely off guard lmao thats mad
how close avata can be to my homemade drone. that is a lot of confidence.
The DJI footage looks great to me, but I think the pros will still strap on a GoPro. The wider field of view just grabs you,, plus the ability to tilt the camera a bit different from the pilot's view. Ending was great.
What amount sound differences.
Haha. The ending is funny af
Good Video
Would like to see a cost comparison.
Don't usually catch your videos, but given I'm British, you calling the motion controller a 'wanker' has made me want watch the next one lol
Only my UK 🇬🇧 people will catch that
Is FRsky bad? (I'm new)
I've had the dji fpv drone for a while now was going to sell it but kept it, sadly fly it really safe but now I'm thinking about the avata since its $630 and works with the controllers and goggles I have. Since its more durable and safer from hitting people or anything really I can now practice more crazy with it. I've been flying on the sim forever practicing crazy moves (liftoff) but want real experience. Might go for it around Christmas idk
I'm in the same boat. Exactly what I'm thinking. I need the FPV for motorsport because of the speed, but the avata would be extremely helpful when filming indoors. I could use it instead of my heavy gimbal...well...most of the time as the Blackmagic footage is way better than a GoPro or DJI....
I've been building/flying quads since the CC3D days, but ultimately switched to tiny whoops due to the convenience and safety aspect. I was excited when the DJI FPV came out but knew it still would be too dangerous to fly regularly for anyone not living in rural places.
You are going to have alot more options building your own, plus gopro 11 bout to drop and alot of other cool cameras i hear...
Longtime love you
Ahhh but it's not like you can't add those cameras to the Avata. However, you'll never get the transmission, FPV view of the Avata on a DYI build. At least not until DJI releases the new air units... You also won't get the safety features, RTH, ADS B, Remote ID, etc. Not to mention the ability to change your camera angle/settings mid flight. Both options have their positives and negatives but from a features standpoint, the Avata wins hands down.
@@westmichiganaerials2205 for newbies yess
@@westmichiganaerials2205 you can have all those features on a custom build however it would be exponentially more expensive.

d all the things BotGrinder hates... He loves to crash. The Avata is great though. Better at some things, not so much on others.
Hi Ken it looked to me DJI was a better flyer. You was taking more risks with it and it looked fantastic in tight spaces. Great vid keep up the great work you do. Thanks
Yeah the DJI I felt more confident with 💯
@@OriginaldoBo Yeah, I was going to comment on the same thing, so glad I read through comments. Your confidence flying the DJI was obviously significantly more. I've seen and read so much about how smooth and predictable the DJI flies, especially on altitude (throttle). For me anyways, that confidence and ability to thread through branches and other obstacles like that comes from confidence in altitude control. In general, direction is easy, precise elevation control not so easy. I think this is where DJI shines from what I've seen.
How come you did not comment on the price at the beginning of the video ???
Would’ve loved it to share the same battery as the dji fpv
With remote I.D being a thing now how is this going to affect flying drones?
I do want the Avata, just can’t afford it right now. I just got my Mini 3, so it will have to wait.
Question: noob here. My only concern about about building a cinewhoop is the batteries. Like you said if you walk away you may not have a house to come back to. I like the avatar’s long flight time. My question is can you “gut” the avata and use its internals to build a cinewehoop?
Nice smooth fly style not as reckless as I thought you were going to unleash lol. Big interest in the fpv side of things. What’s the top speed of the avata?
60mph in Manuel
@@OvertheTopShot nice
Awesome comparison of the 2 videos. This is great where you don’t need any action cameras on the Avata. DJI did it again ken. Those smart bastards🤣China!!!!
What's the price difference?
Let's go Ken
My very first impression was that the GoPro footage looked better, but after a while I changed my mind. You are the color grade master. I would have to see the final edit. I can say this though. Not having to attach a GoPro is a huge advantage for DJI. Take $500 off the top just for that if you are new to the hobby. You don’t have to buy a GoPro or anything else. That’s money, space, SD Cards, batteries, charging cords, and the bones is expensive, but pretty useless for anything but mounting on a drone. DJI is worth it if you can just find a radio. Motion controller is alright, but if you are serious you need to be able to fly the drone in full manual with the sticks in many situations.
These are both out of camera no grading
Hi, FPV newbie here. So the goggles on his drone, part of the DJI Fpv system, they are just the old goggles, right? Like the ones you can get in the midrange package of the Avata?
TLDR: I have wanted to get into FPV for a while, but I’ve never really had the time to do stuff and I currently have a dji mini 2, and I’ve heard the avata is a perfect middle/transitional drone for that. I even heard someone say it is for people who really like flying drones like mine that don’t go to many places and end up getting bored quickly (which fits me exactly).
Yes his goggles are the v2’s which are the same as the midrange avata bundle.
“You can throw this on a charger and just walk away” really bad advice 😂 😅
Súper
whats cheaper?
what foam are you using in your V2 googles?
Newbee drone foam it’s damn good
Ken just one question since the Avata has Lithium-Ion batteries does that make the Avata easier or more difficult to travel with. I ordered the Avata and so did my fly buddy
still lithium
So, this is my understanding : the Cinewhoop FPV drone is great option for all you geeks who like to build, add, adjust, tune and play, etc. with your drone. If you are something like a regular customer, who wants to have all-in-one fully functional no-bug and fool-proof solution, then you should pick the AVATA. This will work well for any beginner-type user of FPV drones like me.
