Sardines are the best bait .... where there is one there is more ..... where I live it’s illegal to relocate them..... if you trap them you must destroy them
@@RockstarBruski I want to thank you again for that technique, (which was new to me), because it did work. The problem was, skunks/raccoons would reach their hands thru the cage and sometimes manage to pull the string into the cage, thus making it harder to retrieve it when I came back. Maybe some additional smaller mesh wire in places would prevent that. I caught about 10 skunks and 12 raccoons since August 2020. Didn't get sprayed or bit or anything one time, fingers crossed.
This was really helpful. Thank you for posting. I would only suggest that you let the skunk out in an area with a whole lot less traffic, maybe on a an old farm road or in a State Park.
thank you and good suggestion on the old farm road. I did choose that area because there's a good sized forest there and the skunk walked straight into the forest well away from the road. :)
Skunks do not like citrus fruit smells so, you can try spraying any kind of citrus fruit juices or put out the peels all around the perimeter of your home/ property and it will repel them or even try petitory animal pee. I am not sure what all is available to get your hands on. However, to name a few: Coyote, fox, bobcat, cougar, mountain lion, badger and of course domestic dog.
Thanks for the tips. In our case we tried all of the tips you suggest and the skunks still showed up daily at our property. After we re homed the skunk we put up hog wire around the bottom of the deck so skunks could no longer make a home under our deck. So far no skunks for years other than those passing through eating pet food that sometimes we and our neighbors forget and leave out overnight.
Hilarious to put him on top of your van and bungee the box there. Hopefully it was a short drive on a back road with little traffic.....lol.Putting the trap in feed bags ahead of time works wonderful.....have trapped probably 60 of them in just the last few years and relocation is a remote farmland we also own 20 klms away. They stay calm...never spray cause they don't see a threat.

Good to know thanks! 🙂
relocate them make them someone else's problem - NOT
Im surprised you dont wanna get skunked, its like a complimentary spray of cologne to freshen you up!
Lol
Thanks for the 3 string technique, but I may try some sixteenth-inch cable, that will be tougher to chew through.
Good advice :)

Wow that's great! You caught a lot of them!
Was that dry cat food or the canned meat cat food?
Wet cat food

Yeah it was a short ride. A truck would be easier but i dont have one. Feedbags are a great idea thanks!
nice hydrangeas!
Thanks! The skunks seem to like them too! 😄
