@@Donor-yp4mu You're much more likely to be stabbed by a deer or die from tick bite/lyme disease. More people die from hitting deer then deer that are killed by hunters. There is a war going on out there and you're worried about a few people killing a few people? Don't you see that the deer are winning? Everybody thinks they're just big bunny rabbits but they're dedicated and cunning to the point of suicidal attacks. You don't have to have venom to be dangerous. It sounds crazy but I think they're working with the insurance companies.
The skunk was just chilling. It was probably asleep when you went to let it go since they tend to be nocturnal. It got a good meal and had a nice safe box to sleep in.

There's a vid on RUclips where a guy stops his car as there was a skunk in the road with it's head stuck in a container and could get killed, the brave hero helped the skunk and didn't get sprayed.
Please don't recommend or buy from amazon, their employees are under so much pressure they pee in bottles at their workstation and avoid drinking water from fear of losing their jobs, and in 5 years 200 employees attempted suicide on the job. You can almost always find better prices elsewhere anyway.

I've used that trap. They are very good. I just wish one side could be made of lucite or something see thru. You can't tell if you've trapped a skunk or your neighbor's cat.

Easily relocated 2 big skunks in a regular cage trap. I approached slow with old sheet. Draped sheet over and into car trunk they went. Slow drive to friends house for the release. Ha ha, hah.

Hey Shawn, I've caught a lot of skunks with different traps but I've never seen this variety before. It's looks great. I usually use a Havaheart live trap or a tube style called 'The Skunker'. This one looks like it would work like a Havaheart which is great for catching skunks but it's much harder to keep them from spraying. You have to cover the trap with a sheet so they won't see you, the white plastic eliminates the sheet step. I just wonder how the plastic will last if the animal starts chewing. I know a racoon will tear the heck out of things when trapped.
When I was a Police officer, my Sergeant , who was a good ole country boy, used to see a skunk and stand perfectly still. The skunk, much like a cat would walk right up to him and brush up around his feet. He would reach down and pick the skunk up gently by its tail, as doing this prevents the skunk from spraying you. He would then put it up in a burlap bag where it be saved for other mischief. I wouldn’t have believed it, but I saw him do it so many times it began to look pretty easy, although I never got up the nerve to try it myself. You’d be amazed at how one of those skunks could break up a rowdy crowd of irate people without saying a word!
I throw a blanket over the trap and carry it to the creek and give it the swim test. Haven't had one pass yet.
That's what I've always done....if you're gentle and the skunk doesn't spray on the way to the creek....he won't spray while hes under water either!

Talking to my local fish cop this past summer about live skunk traps. He told me flat out he would rather I didn't relocate a skunk and make it someone else's problem. Take it somewhere safe and put some extra holes in it's hide.
Depends on where you live. I do it all the time, but it's easy here to get ten miles or more from someone's home. Skunks will normally travel 3-5 miles as a home range. Besides, where there is one skunk, there are others. Kind of like taking a bucket of water out of a lake and calling it dry.

I trapped 8 under my old house and drounded all of them in a big trash can full of water . NO Spray .
I trap and kill squirrels but on occasion trap a skunk. To release it, I approach the trap with a plastic tarp and place it over the trap, leaving the door end uncovered. I then open the trap door with a rope from behind the plastic. I also wear eye protection in case it sprays as it runs away.
Can you do a video about how you tamed the wild mice you caught? How long did it take? What about fleas and lice? Do you worry about getting bit?

THANKS! There are skunks all around here where I live. A neighbor down the street has them coming up and eating out of his dogs’ feed dish. Nobody has been sprayed yet. He has even given the kits names. I have warned him that skunks carry rabies.

standard havahart trap, trap mr skunk, chuck a blanket over it and tie a rope to it. Chuck it in the river and 30 mins later come back and use the rope to get your trap back.
Why live trapping?
So he could set it free in the Wild. He doesn't consider them a pest naturally but this one was causing some issues underneath his house that s why he decided live trapping.

If you use a syringe taped to a long stick, put acetone in the syringe and stick the skunk in the lungs with it, it will die quickly and not spray you.

Great video wonder if that trap is available in california. I actually caught a skunk today yet when I called to find someone to pick it up nobody would come except to give me a ticket and take my trap. Apparently in my county it illegal to trap and relocate raccoons skunks or opossum. I had some very strange conversations with a few people. Tried over 10 different places. They said relocation must be no more than a mile which to me doesn't seem like it would matter it will just come back. But I tried flip n slide bucket trap and caught nothing but I had rats. Caught 5 over 2 month period off of strawberries, cheese, dog food. I hope I don't have any more rats but I haven't caught any in a week so I think I might be good for now.

When you do get too close, just spray 3% vinegar, and kills the smell.... Works well on dogs as well. Work out in the wild and at one time there were about 4 running around at night, and just spoke to them. But once in a while you will get one that is psychotic.....
I can't stand skunks. They are miserable creators. I have been fighting a losing battle for the last 3 years.
I absolutely despise skunks with a burning passion because I have an extremely sensitive nose. If every skunk in the world dropped dead right now I'd shed tears of extreme joy.
I had to pull a yogurt cup off of a skunks head one time. I thought for sure it was going to spray me but it didn't.
I just grabbed the cup and he shook himself free. Then he turned around instantly pointed his backside at me but nothing came out.
I've had pet skunks that were not de-scented. They taught me a lot about them. Mostly, move slowly without any jerky movements and most times they don't spray. Skunks will bluff charge at you, but stand your ground and most times they will back up and leave. I catch and release quite a few, and every now and then I do get sprayed, but it's rare. There are many good points to getting sprayed though......you don't have to wait in line, crowded places suddenly open up, annoying people you don't want to talk to go away...….the list is endless! Ha!

Skunks ripping and scattering garbage, yes. Killing chickens, yes. Twenty in one night. Man is not only being who kills for sport. If one checks the internet., there are Skunk traps that are smaller and less expensive. Sportsman’s Guide carries.
I had as I'll skunk in my yard turning in circles and it wouldn't leave. I had to call a wildlife company out. The guy threw a home depot bucket over it and slid the top of a little ceasars pizza box under it, flipped it over real fast and put in his truck. It cost me 100$ for 30 seconds of work

I just caught a skunk in my trap this morning. I'm calling animal control to get the trap and the skunk out of my yard . I live in town too. The other day I caught a big Ground Hog .I took him to the country and let him go but, the Skunk is a very different situation.☝🙄
