Searching for this amazing Bass Player after 15 years, One of the 1st video of Bass ever seen on youtube, His playing style still sounds cool. Still watching on 2024.
:) I'm almost in tears....overwhelming love & respect for this man. I went to school with someone who could play like this, and it's been nearly a decade since I last watched my friend's hands dance across those strings. There's one particular memory, vivid & crystal clear, that still crosses my mind almost daily. In ten years, this is the closest anything has come to evoking that feeling. ...I think youtube just hugged my soul:)
Watch Kameron Nikpour In Australia You'll love it and also say the same thing Six years, I hope you get to read my comment, just subscribed to you too, should have done it a long time ago
This is just funky. That’s all that has to be said. Like a lot of y’all, I heard this when I was a teenager and really made me take up bass. It’s been 10+ years and I’m thinking about getting a bass again.
There was a study a few years back where a very famous musician played a very complex piece on a million dollar violin in a subway. People don't appreciate music unless they're told is good. Critics run the world because people have closed their minds. People who can understand and appreciate music are almost as rare as the pros that play it.
I remember recording this video. It's been a while since my brother Fernando uploaded it. I sent Gustavo an email telling him about the millions of views of his video. He said "thanks Diego, if I ever see you again I'll give you a free album" Then he asked me about the girl that he dedicated the song, Emiliana. Great guy, thanks for all the comments.
I'm so proud because I hope to learn a lot of techniques by him!! He's my favorite bassist and I really admire him, and I would like to add that he has good vibes to share with everyone!
Coño, este tipo es una bestia!!!! Me encantó su estílo y se ve que se lo estaba gozando! Ese es el propósito de la música! Qué humilde el hombre. Que Dios lo bendiga.
10 years ago i was here and i'm only a kid back then , and this morning don't know why this vid pop up inside my head and then here i am again after 10 years and he's still so amazing definitely will come back again (11/10/2018) .
because hes a bass player. Take it from one who was actually good at one point.... its a disrespected instrument no one but fat loner guys care about. Wish I spent my time on drums or guitar
***** am I? How many BASS players successfully run their own side projects. Singers and Guitarists do it all the time. There was Sixx AM but where did that go. They were pretty good but seriously a "famous" bass player is not enough to support a band. Look at Snake Pit, Slash is enough to stimulate that. Many singers go out on solo projects. Bass is a lonely instrument and bass players are usually weirdos and unstable and unfortunately those who are actually good and cool people get lumped in with the losers who "just cant play guitar".
you're a bassist, exactly why you care about bassists. Now go ask someone on the street how much they care about bassists and how interesting they feel they are. Sorry bassists just have a bum wrap, thats how it is.
Bassists are majorily bums because the mass of them who pick up the instrument are slackers who just want an easy instrument they can sit in the back with and be considered part of the band. Most never strive to actually become "good" and sit there playing root notes behind the guitar barely ever doing even a fill. I know this because I play bass, drums and some guitar but bass primarily. Look in the media the bass is always the butt of the jokes. Many TV shows, movies and video games mock the bassist. Why do you think this is? Do you think it was just picked that way? No, its because they are mostly lazy slackers and unless you are a VERY basscentric band (primus) you really wont get noticed. Ever notice at comments people love the guitar solos and drum solos but could give a crap if the bass ever solos, which 99.99999999% cant even do. If you are looking for ANY recognition, do not play bass. Dont get me wrong I Love playing my basses but its not a very rewarding instrument if you EVER want to be considered an actual integral part of the band. Also your last comment is almost unreadable and makes little sense.
***** Oh yes how did you know, I was raped by a bassist. Luckily it was a bassist though so he had NO IDEA what he was doing and was AWFUL at it. It was actually a forced blow job. I tried to stop him but he just started blowing me and wouldn't quit. I tried to tell him "YOUR DOING IT WRONG" and he didnt listen. Just sat there in his own world, doing the same motion over and over like whacking at that third fret on the E string. Yes maybe instruments compliment each other but for the effort why not let people know. If you play bass you will be the least paid, get no recognition and NEVER be famous. Wish someone told me. All I ever heard was youll always have work and everyone needs a bassist. Well thats simply because NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY BASS.
This was one of the most inspirational videos to me as a beginning bassist 16 years ago I had no idea what was even going on But I just realized now I can transcribe this and learn it and finally I will achieve my final form :’)
Vo iD Getting paid money to practice. Why would you practice in the house if you're good enough to make money from donations even when you're just fucking around?
Stephen Pruszenski I believe both these young gentlemen have been blessed by Jesus Christ with phenomenal talent and I will gladly listen to whatever they decide to produce for us.

I favorited this video back in 2007 when it was uploaded and I've come back to listen every so often ever since.. This guy is amazing!

This guy made me pick up a Bass guitar around 10 years ago, I still play it to this day ;) Big up to Gustavo Dal Farra
One of the most melodic bass lines I've ever heard. This talent is very rare.
I remember watching his playing video almost 20 years ago, and now it suddenly comes to my mind. still great bass play.

I remember finding this video back in 08 when I first started playing. I was so stunned that somebody could play so good. Such an inspiration
This video inspired me to start playing bass back in 2007. I've been playing for 15 years now
It’s crazy how good this is. He’s still laying down a groove and adding solo-y parts, while remaining true to be the bassist of a something larger
Look at the pedestrians in the glass reflection! They do not even pay attention to what he`s doing! True music is so underrated...
yet he's got 13.6 million views on youtube so you're wrong
That's because this video was uploaded 11 years ago

Amazing talent in the midst of unappreciative people... T_T
Jesse Johnston Or you know, maybe people in a subway have a place to go and can't exactly stand around no matter how much they might want to.
UbarSkwerl Excuses... if they were really interested they'd stop and look, at least for a minute.
Jesse Johnston Yeah, I'm guilty of that.
Nice, the bass is so awesome.. You play solo, but you have everything. You have the percussion, you have a bass, you have a normal guitar...
Years later, and I still love this.

Why does this video have over 1000 dislikes?
Because some people just don't have good taste in music
coz that showz that he's 1000times better than them..!!
Why did all of you focus on the dislikes when just above the bar there is a great bass player to watch?
Over one thousand!!!!

Is this an actual song?
no he made it up but hes amazing
The song is called Rushed Love by Gustavo Dal Farra
Dave Barnes he is gustavo dal farra
brinderpal singh ,,,which means it's a song...
Dylan Lanphear maybe..
To this day one of my favorite bass compositions. So much feel, it takes me on a journey.
Whats the song he's playing?
He is playing his own song - Rushed love
i think its Sandstorm by Da Rude but im not sure
***** lol you have not been on the internet for a WHILE. That question comes with consequences.
Its not darude sandstorm exactly its actually a remix but someone created a bass version and a salmon version
And a sardine version out of a can
its not him, its the magic of the 5th string. buy one and you ll play like him instantly :D :P
I don't think so,its difficulties to play this
I try to play this song,it is same too,Why not him?!
Sure i'd like to see your video response with the 5th string.. It'll make your fingers flow like magic
You make it sound so easy. It takes practice and a lot of people just happen to be born to be more musically-inclined than others...

I never grow tired of this video. One if the most delicious pieces of art i have ever heard.
Jesus Christ is alive. he's living in Venezuela.
Dammit, Seinfield. Why'd you have to remind me of SeinField? *sighs* Time to go back and watch all the episodes...
Neuro this song does remind me a lot of that bass line in SeinFeild. I always wanted to learn that little riff...
I have found Jesus, and he plays bass.
it's been seven years since I've been playing and watched this video and still how this guy grooves 👏👏👏👏👏
