Typical guitar shop add on sales hahaha
You want the 6 month warranty for 600 dollars??
metalmurcielago I turned down purchasing a guitar because they wouldn't sell me a new one and only the floor model. So then after getting some strings I noticed that the bill was $300 and the guy was still trying to ring me up for an insurance plan not only for an instrument I wasn't purchasing but it was an insurance plan turned down buying in the first place
The entire scene is a spot on parody of big box guitar stores.
Mans even learned his Scales. I’m proud of homer
I’m proud of this guy too ruclips.net/video/DqZS89jFCFg/видео.html
he noticed homer was dumb and immediatly decided he would be a perfect bass player
What are you implying by that statement
what do you have against bass players
Bass. Most under rated instrument in music.
I would love to learn bass.
And guitar.
And drums.
And keyboard.
And brush up my vocals.
And the saxophone.
And the clarinet.
And the violin.
And the xylophone.
I really like music.
Update: it's been 2 years, I can't play many things, but I've gotten half decent with my guitar and I've just started learning bass. It's been hard to find time to practice since I've been working full time and going through life, but I make time when I can and I do love it. I've got a long way to go before I start making my own music, but I'm getting there.
The Jam Man
Same.
The Jam Man what about the piano? Best instrument out there and most beautiful sounding
The Jam Man and me to but I already play the drums
What abour sitar? I want to play it
Same, I already know the sax and I'm learning guitar
Homer: *starts having fun and really gets good at it*
Marge: "WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!"
yup...
Every musicians wife when you want to go full time.
Every girl when a guy starts to be happy
Stay single Brother... No woman is getting n the way of my Strat
Maybe turn the amp down a bit
I love how every time Homer gets interested in something, it becomes his new obsession. And he drives everyone crazy about it, and takes it everywhere with him. 😄
TIL homer has ADHD
@@petepyrotechnic6150 my first thought as well after reading this comment
@Pete Pyrotechnic Makes sense since Bart also has it and ADHD is hereditary.
Is that not normal? Uh oh 🫢
The episode where Lisa's saxophone gets stolen and Homer replaces it with a jug is pretty good. He keeps making her play that sweet sweet hoedown music.
2:38 I love that the forks just transformed into spoons
It's called the power of bass 🤣🤣🤣
Off camera. There was probs a guy hiding behind the table. The power of special effects.
0:57 if the guitar guy knew his stuff, he’d be complimenting Homer for talking while still playing in time
He did tell him that he's one of the greatest bassists of all time
Anyone else that's bothered by the fact that he plucks the highest string (G) but the sound of the E string is played at 0:30?
Well, Jimi Hendrix played with his guitar the other way around. In this case, Homer's bass is still the right-side up. Oh well, I guess it's not that big a deal, I suppose the animators just decided to animate it this way lol
+Aaron Nitro I agree that is sooo fake and unrealistic....Sincerely, Wil E. coyote and every other cartoon character.
ryan49er1
Haha, okay that's a good point
Yes honestly
What are we supposed to believe, that this is some kind of magic guitar?
I love that he’s actually getting better as he goes instead of harping on “yOuR a LeGeNdArY bAsSiSt By PlAyInG oNe NoTe”
i was really close to picking up bass, but switched last second and bought a guitar
no regrets because i'd be happy with either
Lisa should know that Homer is a musician, he's been in Sadgasm and The Be Sharps.
+Alexis Lopez And that doesn't make him a musician?
+Yimello Lisa played bass in "Whacking Day", so I don't know why she didn't offer to teach Homer.
nowadays' simpsons writers don't know shit about the show. plus they are white guilt idiots and made the simpsons 1/60 black in an act of absolute fucktardation
whats wrong with that
They have sitcom.memory. like Groundhog day.
Must be hard to play guitar and bass with only 3 fingers
Cameron Ronan Welsh Beast people play guitar with their feet I'm sure it's not that bad
Bass don't easy
there is a 3-fingers technique actually, where your pinky and ring fingers act like one
Omg I found my old account 😂

Honestly, life would be so different if there was someone to encourage and believe in me like that dude who believed in Homer's bass skills
"Weak womanly fingers of a guitar princess" lmao
And played guitar himself(? Lmao
Funny, I have the weak, womanly fingers and I play bass, and the two strongest guys play guitar! Totally the opposite of ZZ-Top.
Ikr, go tell that to Zakk Wylde
LazyPick that man is a beast
I am a guitar player and I do have slim fingers but my hands are massive and my grip is hella strong.
Homer isn’t a real bassist. He’s actually practicing.

Zack Russell lmaooo
Soyum lmaooo I play bass, drums, and guitar. It’s just funny to hate on it
Soyum you’ll love it. Yamaha has a bass that’s only $200
@@soyum4476 lol! I've been playing bass for 35 years.
Fwiw, lots of bass players ARE the shittiest musician in the band. Bass player sterio types are not without reason. However, most of those "bassists" are failed guitarists.
There are plenty of us who play bass because we love the sound/feel/roll of bass. For those of us who wanted to play bass (and didn't get pushed into it), sky is the limit. Good bass makes a band sooooooooo much better.
Good starter bass! Enjoy it!
It's odd how little Homer seems to know about music given that he's met George Harrison, toured with the Smashing Pumpkins, and won a Grammy.
+GdoubleWB You don't win a Grammy by knowing anything about music.
+GdoubleWB Don't forget about basically bring Kurt Cobain and creating Grunge.
+GdoubleWB It's because Homer's severely demented, if you haven't noticed.
+Doom Dope I just thought it was the writers getting sloppy after almost three decades worth of episodes.
GdoubleWB That's the most likely reason :)
i love the effect when he taps the string and his entire body just starts to wobble :D
Plays with finger.
Sounds like pick.
somesh kadam if you're playing through a shit amp with a callused finger itll sound like that
Maybe he has nails

Every time I've seen this clip I'm impressed with Homer's grooves, they're simple yet talented, perfectly believable for a talented beginner
I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar...

Have you tried Yousician ?
I tried youscisian and I don't think I learned anything
Nico.Anonymous Yousician sucks watch Marty Schwartz on RUclips
HAHAHA i understood that reference
I've begun with Yousician and it helped me a lot actually, in my opinion it's a great way to start (but not to master) the guitar.
I love how it's properly shown with four strings even though everyone in the Simpsons universe has only three fingers and a thumb.
One diget for every sting
yeah properly with four strings... that are somehow in reverse order
In their universe a 4 string is the equivalent of a 5 string in ours. That’s how good Homer is!
I've been playing bass for 20 years and the thing that finally got me to use my pinky to fret consistently was learning guitar last year, I think a three fingered person could bass it up pretty good.
You could play bass with 3 fingers
Maybe one of the most impressive things Homer does here is keep a consistent 80bpm tempo without metronome 10 seconds after picking up a bass for the first time lol
The fact that the guitar store has more than 3 left handed guitars is legendary
I have been playing for 30 plus years, and looking at a left handed guitar to me always looks weird.
@@VoxRox1I'm a lefty and trust me, it's extremely weird for me too. Whenever I see footage of myself on stage I'm like "What the fuck? Who on earth holds a guitar like that?"
@@luciel3893 I'm a lefty guitarist who learns from RUclips videos. On the rare occasion I see Hendrix or Tony Iommi or some other lefty I have trouble understanding what I'm seeing . The mirror effect of right hand players are easier to learn from.
possibly a nod to the fact that the bass player of this is left handed, hes friends with my family and he actually used to play both guitar and bass left handed when they were right handed, pretty cool dude
@@luciel3893 Same here. I also notice it when I see people throw left handed... as I do. It just looks goofy as hell sometimes.
I have so much respect that they put so much detail into the bass like even just the pickups usually artist don't know a damn thing on how instruments look
it's the main idea of the chapter it must be well detailed xd
Check out the anime K-On, as far as detailed instruments go. They put every last detail into them, right down to the logos on the headstocks.

Oh, and Metalocalypse.
Matt Groening is a big music fan.
Gotta love how Homer just playing the E string still has more animation frames than the guy playing guitar
To be fair his first attempt at playing though simple melodically has perfect timing and an even attack. Anyone who could do that straight away probably would be destined for great things :P
The simpsons could start a band:
Liza @ sax
Bart = drummer
Homer = bass
And marge on death vocals
Satyr Horns lol
Eventually they’ll be able to play their own theme so g
Remember the old episode where Bart try's plays electric guitar?

Armani Rodriguez 13yo girl plays bass, better than u
The Jenga/bookshelf gag is hilarious.
Homer actually understands music.. he was in a barbershop quartet th Be Sharps with their one hit single Baby On Board.
Funny how the new Simpsons eps repeat or completely ignore the canon--which is their best material! Pretty soon they'll be doing a Mr. Burns Rosebud or explaining Homer's mom's disappearance again
Sadgasm
"Baby On Board. something something Burt Ward"
Also he has shown multiple times in a lot of different episodes to be a very good pianist
And he did rock camp

I think the part when Homer is shaked by the vibration of the string he played is what describe what it feels to play bass the best
