Can anyone help me out. I got my daughter a chinchilla a few months ago and the cage we got has a plastic tray at the bottom that slides in and out. Our chinchilla started chewing holes in the corners of the plastic tray and can now escape through them. Anyone have any suggestions for a cage that doesn’t have that plastic tray? Please and thank you

A lot of people take the plastic out and put tile down it gives them a cooling surface too

Hey! If you're looking for a whole new cage, my chinchilla has a MidWest Homes for Pets Critter Nation cage, which many other chin owners recommend! They also make a Ferret Nation cage with the same dimensions, just slightly different bars, so that would work too. Because these cages are so popular, many brands make metal pans for them, which is an awesome choice because of how toxic plastic is for chins. You could also use anti-pill fleece for the bedding and wrap it over the plastic tray it comes with.
