YES SAME! My chinchillas like to take them to a safe place to chew cuz usually their friend tries to take their stick even if they have their own. Haha just so cute!
That’s a fav in our house. I bought a huge bag like oh yeah this should last a month. I think it was 2 and a half weeks.
I'm surprised how little my chinchilla sheds. I am endlessly cleaning dust and poop but not hair. I let her out to play every evening and she is trained to get back in her cage herself, because she gets a half of one of those shredded wheat pieces. Shredded wheat and apple sticks are her jam.

Absolutely fantastic, detailed and informative to the max. Makes me think I should be sat here with a pen and paper taking notes. One thing I’ve definitely decided is I’m going to take 2-4 weeks building play pens and runs for them before I buy them. I’m quite the woodworker (more in building guitars but I’m sure a lot of those skills are quite transferable.

Regarding wheels ... chewy has started to sell a 16" diameter all metal wheel which is nice.

It's called Brytin Silver Surfer Chinchilla Exercise Wheel, Silver Surfer by Brytin. It costs 99.89$ as of today...normal retail price 120.35$. And I said 16" diameter which is incorrect. It is 14" diameter which is the smallest size acceptable for chinchillas...it is an aluminum wheel. Item number 236636 for anyone that cannot find it. I personally don't have it but I know a few people that do. I personally think it is over priced... I have gotten all 7 of my chinchilla wheels from pandamonium pets on etsy.

Chin Villain I absolutely love pandamonium pets. As you know buying appropriate and safe chinchilla supplies is rather costly. I have only made 50 of my numerous ledges I have in all my cages lol. I have spent right around a grand (probably more) per cage haha... 😂

What I did to bond them was to clean the whole cage then put them both in the cage and that’s been months ago they love being together they cuddle all day and at night they jump alot

I know this is an old video but hopefully you can offer some help. I have 2 male chins, and they chew up EVERYTHING!!! I’ve tried to give them wooden shelves and hides and they demolish all of it. 😅 To top it off, their cage reeks of pee a few hours after changing it. I’m hesitant to add a litter box because they destroy everything else.
I love them but maaaan they’re a full time job. 😖😂

I know this is two years old and my first video of yours (March 15 2023- a mental note to myself) but I heard Cheerio's are actually unsafe since it has chemicals that cause cancer due to the weed killers they use to grow what Cheerio's are made of.
Do chinchillas need Timothy and orchard grass or is Timothy hay just fine? I’m buying from small pet select
You can just feed Timothy hay! I add orchard grass hay as an extra.
Does bass equipment pans work on critter nation cages too?
Yes, they fit in Ferret Nation and Critter Nation cages

What about hay bales?
My chins like dry hibiscus and apple sticks! Where did you buy your water bottle and how did they learn to use it?
I LOVE these waterbottles cuz they are easy to refill and they are usually no leak! I use to get them from JouetPets on Etsy but they changed the shipping location range due to the pandemic, but i found another etsy store with them called MeowChin www.etsy.com/listing/771156378/glass-top-fill-water-bottle-no-drip
As for them figuring out how to use, it took a couple days. So what I did was I placed the new water bottle in the same spot as the old one so they would associate the location with water. But also i added the old bottle into the cage incase they couldnt figure it out just in a new location.
What kind of bedding should you put in the litter box area?
I would use either pine or Aspen wood chips. Avoid anything that expands when wet. I would also add a few blades of hay and some bedding that is already saturated to encourage them to use the litterbox. I have also seen people disinfect a larger smoothe stone and place that in the middle of the litter box. This also encourages them to use the litter box. They like it cuz it's something to squat on kinda like how a toilet is for us Haha.
Can they drink well water?
just a little not plastic water bottles do house more bacteria and can be harder to clean because they are like bad bacteria and possible mold incubators so glass bottles are always the better option

I give my chinchilla goji berries. Should I stop?
I have to use the dust bath to get him back into his cage everyday, is that okay? When I get his new cage I will try a treat maybe 🤔 I am so afraid I'm going to do something wrong, if I put less dust so it won't dry him out is that okay lol he definitely knows the word bath lol
It should not be a huge issue if you need to use a dust bath everyday to get them back into the cage.
Hii! I was wondering if you have this problem to, my chinchilla has a smaller cage and somehow poop gets outside of the cage (like piles) and I have no clue how to keep that from happening
Edit: oh and do you have any tips money wise? Because I'm only 12 and can't find anything cheaper but still good quality
They make poop gards which is wood that attaches to the walls of the cage to keep the poop in. They also will make shelves with poop guards to help with this as well. You can find them on Etsy or DIY them.

Hi I was wondering, do you know why chinchillas tug on their water bottle? My boy has developed this habit and I am concerned he might hurt his teeth. Any ideas?
Hmmm... not really sure. Could possibly be out of boredom or he just generally likes doing it. Maybe try getting a guard or a different water bottle?

Is paper bedding safe for chinchillas?
Paper bedding is actually not safe since it expands when it gets wet. So if they ingest the bedding it could expand in their stomachs and cause a blockage which is fatal. Many people, even on RUclips, suggest that you can use it if you have enough toys in the cage to preoccupy them, but this is false. Your chinchilla will still at some point put the bedding in their mouth regardless of how many other accessories they could be chewing on, and it only takes one time for it to go wrong. So it is better to be safe than sorry and use either aspen, pine, fleece, or tile!
Question, does it have to be the ferret critter nation? Or will the regular one (the one for rats) work? I think the only difference is bar space but I'm not sure
I think you might be talking about the difference between the Ferrent Nation cage and the Critter Nation cage. Both of these option work great. The only main difference is the Critter nation has horizontal bars and the bar spacing is smaller.
Are goji berries good for chinchillas?
They can have them but very rarely. Goji berries have a lot of sugar.
