•Dark Souls get lot of things from Armored Core Generation 1+2 games.
•Most valuable - *core* of story about infinity circles of world reborn and one very skilled/determinated enough man what will choose in what direction will move next age.
•Also: Stamina wha mostly used for movement, build building with "Frames"/"Sets" of armour what can work well together but player can mix their parts as well.
And of course: *Lore talling based on messages or item description, what was made by mixing same features from Armored Core 1 and King's Field.*
Dark Souls is new mutation/evolutionar adaptation for FromSoftware DNA, *but Armored Core are one of basic and from it valuable molecules in it what let Dark Souls even born.*

@@dsaBOSS I have heard about that and think I remember with at least one of the first AC games...some shit about R1 and R2 being how you look up and down? Something like that. Though I think what made the controls hard to control isnt the layout, but the sheer pace you play at. From what I understand, the older games played a fair amount slower and steadily ramped up to the insane speeds of AC before they slowed it down a bit with 6.
Hopefully I'll knuckle down and play the older games through emulation and see for myself....assuming they work at all, FA on emulation will have you unable to move or phasing through the ground for instance.

Pre-rebalancing Balteus and Sea Spider just were not 'hard' for me but they weren't fun either- they were just overtuned slogs that went against the smoother difficulty curve Yamamoto said they wanted the game to have.

TBH I find AC on AC fights more annoying in AC6, because the AI so obviously cheats. Inflated AP and damage, input reading, hitting shots I'm sure you'd never hit in PvP with how leading isn't perfect (but it sure is for them).
They aren't HARD to beat if you just cheese. Even if you don't you can win by just being aggro as hell. But it never feels like you _outplay_ them.

Inflated AP and dmg? Ive never seen evidence that suggest that
Input reading yeah a bit maybe, some are more noticeable but if you play into your builds strengths most AC fights are a lot less challenging than some would expect (without cheesing). Also there shouldnt be a network issue in Pve so what you see is what you get.
So far Ive only had 1 ac fights which annoyed me and it was Coldcall. I dont why but I had to redo him a few times, but Id like to chalk that up to skill issue when I was doing S rank attempts

Pre-nerf, i feel like most of his attacks are dangerous. Mostly because of the missiles and attack frequency. even a lightweight build needs to be smart to dodge those, at least most of it (i tried this with nachtreiher frame, so i know). In the middle of that missile swarm whooshing past, clanking and exploding when they hit you, he shoots you with a beeping cannon that you may miss the audio cue on because of the missile sounds (took me 3 tries to actually realize the beeping sound is an indicator of him about to shoot, and not me getting hit). All this is also while he shoots you with gatlings and scattershots
Post nerf, his damage is nerfed, his missile tracking is severely nerfed, and his attack frequency gets cut in half, so you just gotta dodge the beeping cannon and prepare to dodge the flamethrower. The missiles cant hit shit, his gatlings and scattershots cant track you and deal no damage.
Edit: well, i reset my data once to see what the post-nerf experience is like (copied original save somewhere and overwrote it with new game so i dont have endgame gear and all that), but i've beaten the game in 1.0 and thus know most of the boss patterns, so that's going to skew my perceptions a bit, so take my opinion with a grain of salt

@@aze0012 It's really noticeable. Learning his weaknesses after the first encounter is a factor. After the nerf, Balteus and Radahn are sharing the same boat.

@aze0012 I beat the game before the nerfs. Some of the the original boss battles were insanely hard.
