i think a good way to balance out the shotguns is to either have low attack/hi stun or hi attack/low stun. rn having both hi with only a 1-2sec reload makes them way over powered.
The zimmermans should just do less or at least equal damage/stun to the starting shotgun as a tradeoff for their longer range instead of being straight better
Actually the best way to balance shotguns is to do it like EVERY OTHER GAME IN EXISTENCE and have every other weapon simply outrange them. In every other game the shotguns are as overpowered in close range as they are in AC6, but in AC6 you're only ever fighting in relatively close range, and assault boost combined with shotguns is busted, and you can't fly backwards.

Did u know, that when Swinburne starts begging, and u get the option to accept or refuse, u can actually accept it then after words, shot him, its an instant death, u won't see the circle thing to shoot at him, but if u just aim at him then shot, as soon as u accept, he dies instantly. I found out about it when I accepted him then accidentally press R2 ( I play on PS5)
Its cute that people have multiple builds. I have one that works on everything. Second play through is easy now. I beat all new Arena enemies in less than 30 seconds. Doesn't matter what build they have. *Except the worm, need to swap out shoulder weapons for the needle thing
Armored Core is way more fun when you have more builds. Sticking to one singular build isn't something that makes you cooler. The whole thing about this entire franchise is customizing and making loads of cool builds to try shit out. It's not about beating stuff fast with one build it's just fun to create a lot of wild stuff for fun. Like yea, one build *can* get you through an entire game but sometimes it's just fun to whip out some weird machine for the hell of it. Especially in the older games that had more parts than AC6.
