Loved Larry Grayson he was so hilarious bless him. Loved him in shut that door R.I.P LARRY thank you for all your entertainment xx Thank you for your information very informative x
What an absolute wonderful man Larry was. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Nuneaton and still have family there. As well as having members of my family in this very graveyard. Larry lived around the corner from me and I would see him most days walking his dog. He never failed to say hello when passing. Nuneaton still misses him ♥️
I used to absolutely adore this man. I was a child and he really made me laugh. R.I.P you great man x ❤️ The Generation Game was one of my favourite shows ever.
I admired Larry throughout my childhood. After learning more about him, I am endeared to him profoundly. A lovely, lovex, humble, genuine, gentle, missed unique gentleman. Bless you sweet man, always in our hearts, mind, laughs. X
Lovely tribute Paul.... Met Larry years ago while working at Birmingham Airport in the baggage hall. There was a baggage delay. Spent ages talking to him, a lovely quiet fella. RIP Larry
Thank you for taking the time to find one of the people who made me laugh as a kid. He famously never rehearsed a lot of the things he was asked to do on The Generation Game as it helped the contestants look better. He was the best one to present TGG and with Isla St Clair made it a must watch. RIP Larry - now shut that door!
He truly was a funny man bought joy and laughter to a lot of people thank you for doing this you really are a dedicated and respectable man RIP Larry Grayson ❤️
Larry Grayson just got on with his life whatever his sexual preference. Something todays idiots should do instead of harping on about it . RIP Larry a very natural entertainer who made it all look so easy. Very well done & tactfully done as ever Best wishes & thanks for all your hard work .
There was a reason people didn't go on about being gay in the past . It was illegal . You could be arrested, put to jail and/or chemically castrated for being caught engaging in of age, consensual, gay and lesbian sex . Im not refering to child abuse which is a diffrent issue altogether . Read the story of mathematician Alan Turing to see what i mean . en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing My uncle died at 89 years old 3 years ago . He was gay . Never once did he come out . We all knew it and my family never had an issue with the 2 partners he had in my 47 years of life .
The tragedy about his generation of gay comedians is the they actually believed the worst kind of homophobic propaganda about themselves ... he once told his agent that he was a walking talking mistake. I know he isnt popular with the LGBTQ+ rights movement but I adored him, I have warm childhood memories of my nanas reaction to him watching The Generation Game.
As a kid growing up and watching him on tv he made me laugh. He had that naughty glint in his eyes. Oh the days! RIP Larry but I think you are around somewhere! xx
i meet larry once he came to visit my partner who was his driver when he lived in torquay he was a very nice man the same on tv as he was in person just perfect god bless larry.
I thank you so much for this amazing footage Larry Grayson to me and millions of others was a beautiful soul a terrific comedian I have loved and admired Larry all of my life thank you Larry for the fun times and terrific memories you are to dearly loved to be forgotten ❤️
Lovely tribute from you Paul to a Comedy Giant much missed he always made us laugh, he made the Generation Game his own always made the contestants feel at home such a kind gentle man. Over 18 Million viewers every week to watch his show, he would fill 2000 seater theatres wherever he appeared I'm afraid we will not see his likes again but what a legacy he left behind, he loved all the Classic Hollywood Films and loved talking about them. Thank you, Larry, for all the laughs, a legend in his own time gone but most definitely not forgotten. Thanks, Paul, so lovely top see Larry's final resting place, I hope he is still having a ball up there! RIP. Will you - "Shut That Door!"
A lovely man, genuine, caring,a very funny man,sad to see the grave has no flowers on,we shouldn't forget them because they've passed, thank you 😊 for a great video xxx😊❤️
If you ever get a chance go to Camberwell new cemetery there is a grave there belonging to Freddie Mills the boxer next to him is Cadillac Johnny and the Richardsons the rival gang to the Krays
Larry Grayson was a comic legend I will always Remember his catch phrases " shut that door " and look at the muck in here and his very camp humour and him in the Larry Grayson Generation game and his stand up comedian talking about his friends "Slack Alice " basically he was a iconic comedian and host of game shows many many happy memories I have of him a true legend in every sense of the word such a funny man who could make the audience's laugh without resorting to profanities true legend Larry Grayson R..I.P 😍😍🌈🥰😍
God bless Larry Grayson. A wonderfully talented man who gave so much joy to so many. My children now laugh at the antics I found so endearing and funny so many years ago. X
Very respectful video. I was talking to someone at a party years ago who had met Larry Grayson several times and he said he was a wonderful man who never said a bad word about anyone.
Such an interesting video.Larry was a favourite of mine. He was good friends with Noele Gordon from Crossroads. They enjoyed a lovely friendship for years.
My mum and stepfather ashes are scattered in the Garden of remembrance nearby Lerrys grave. I spoke to Larry a few times in the town when he was walking his dog.fame came to Larry later in life and it never whent to his head. He stayed close to his roots RIP
Someone has taken very good care of that stone..it’s beautifully clean and polished…I always try and do the same for my parents stone, so appreciate when other people do. It’s sad to see graves in disrepair , no flower etc. Thankyou for finding his grave for us…he gave a lot of pleasure to many audiences. RIP William (Larry) 💐🙏
Used to love watching him on Saturday night telly. I remember him also on The Good Old Days.....Loved his sense if humour. Not like the stand up of today. His comedy was more innuendo......Always rememberd with laughter ....Thankyou Larry..
Brilliant comedian my brother painted Larry's house my brother was a proffessional painter and decorator. Larry told my brother a few days before he died that he was getting pain.
I worked in a car wash when I was 14.larry drove in and had meg richardson driving him.he gave me 5.00pounds .I thought I had won the lottery. ❤️This was 1970.im 66now.
He was a truly truly lovely gentleman, I remember him and Noele Gordon at the Grosvenor club on hagley road a very discrete members club “ code word for gay club “ and the pair of them really was great fun and extremely down to earth people who stuck together like glue . Brilliant times and many a party went pack to Nolls place up Handsworth Wood .
@@interestingplaces1 Can you go by the Chichester Crematorium and Garden of Remembrance and do a video on Thora Hird (1911-2003)’s grave please? Thanks.
Very interesting video Paul, I always wondered where Larry Grayson was buried, many thanks for all your hard work you put in to bring us these interesting video
I used to love him on The Generation Game. At one point he lived in the hills in Torquay and drove a Rolls Royce. I listened to a podcast, I think on BBC sounds about him. He said that it took him 40years to become an overnight success. I also remember when he was in hospital and was then released. A few days later press called Isla St Clair to say they were sorry about Larry. She told them he was gone and recovering only to be given the news that he had died. Apparently in his dying moment, he stared into the corner past everyone, sat bolt upright and then passed away
It's sad to think that no matter how popular or great we are, we all end up in he ground (or cremated). Larry made us laugh, yet there is no special privileges, we are all the same after death. RIP Larry.
Great video Paul. Such a funny man Larry was. He was a very good friend of Noele Gordon (Crossroads) I can remember when Noele charector was getting married, Larry was there guedt starring pretending to drive the bride and groom's car. (Apparently he couldn't drive) Larry just looked into the camera nose in the air turned his head the way only Larry can and pretending to drive off, that's was so funny. And the Generation Game, never the same. Thank you Paul, any chance of you doing Noele Gordon's resting place? Google say Ross-on-Wye.
Just a BTW the guy I worked for bought Larrys house on Hinkley Road Nuneaton. He then had moved down south to Torquay but I don't think he settled there, missing his home town.
Hi, I'm an amateur genealogist and I had a look at Larry's family tree to work out who Mary E Roberts is - as you asked. OK so here we go: Jim Hammond was Alice's second husband - her first husband James Catliffe died in WW1 (in 1916) but before he died he had two daughters with Alice - Mary Elizabeth Catliffe and Florence Alice Catliffe - Roberts is Mary's married name. This means that neither Elizabeth nor Florence were Jim Hammond's biological children either. Hope that helps.
Larry Grayson was the best thing that ever happened to the generation game, is camp comedy and innuendo was second to none. Aways fondly remembered
