Over the years I've discovered that 100s of very famous people have been cremated and their cremated remains, or ashes, have been scattered. I was sad and surprised when I discovered that they have no gravesites or final resting places to visit.
In this video, I share with you more than 50 of these famous dead people who chose, or their family chose for them, not to have gravesites. I think many of you will be just as shocked as I was to find out who they are.
Thanks for joining me today on another raod trip down memory lane and for sharing the memories!

This is fantastic Steve! A perfect tribute, awareness, and reminder of those who've passed and chosen to be cremated. I'm glad Find A Grave has memorials for those whose final resting places are other than burial. Excellent discovery.

Two days ago, I was standing at the graves of my great great great grandparents. They were born in 1821, and 1831. I find it amazing that I can do that. Everyone needs a final resting place even if it's the ashes.

I can see why some of the families or even the dead person decides beforehand they did not want to be at a ceremony or be in a grave for those very reasons you stated. Some of the names was a surprise. At least 3 from the Gilligan inland show & 2 or 3 from the Diffent Stoke show.

Steve....... When we pass over we do leave the memory of our lives with our loved ones. I viewed the very emotional scattering of ashes that you did when your mother passed. It was a very loving and sweet experience to have shared with you. Now I am certain that you can close your eyes and remember the sound of your mother's voice and the smell of her favorite perfume. My father passed when I was five. His grave is in Ohio. I can close my eyes and remember his loving voice calling me by the loving nickname that he gave to me. Thank you for this vlog. Best to your husband.

I never realized that there were so many famous people that had no resting place to visit. On one hand I can understand that the Families are thinking of the privacy and vandalism factor, on the other, those that would just love to visit or lay flowers have nowhere to visit. It’s a double edge sword. It is the Family’s feelings that you must take into account. I’m sure that, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s gravesite will be private and within good reason, the public will not be able to visit. Thank You Steve for sharing another wonderful video. Blessings to You and Jim.

Great video Steve. I wonder how many of these were their dying wish or the families decided to just so the fans couldn’t visit. What I find really sad is when I go to a celebrity gravesite and the family hasn’t even come to take care of it. Its like they were forgotten. Tony Curtis is buried here in Vegas and it doesn’t even look like anybody even comes from the family to take care of the grave. It’s depressing.

A couple came to mind that they were missed: Gene Rayburn, from "Match Game" fame, was cremated and scattered in his daughter's garden. Another is Jan Berry, of "Jan & Dean" fame; after he suffered such great brain damage after his car accident, he made a huge comeback with Dean Torrence thanks to the help of brain damage specialists, and this was in the '60's, before such great medical strides were made! He was paralyzed on his right side and had to learn to walk, talk, etc., again, but found out he could sing better than he could talk. He talked Dean into "one last ride" that lasted over 20 years! After his death, his body was donated to the center where he was helped, then cremated and given to his wife. Keep it up, Steve! I love your videos!

One name left out, though, was Bobby Darin (1936-1973). His body was left, as per his wishes, to the UCLA Medical Center. There is, however, a cenotaph someplace in Colorado, Boulder I think, placed by three Italian-American (as was Bobby) sisters who were his biggest fans. They went to several of his concerts and a couple of times when he headlined at the famous Copacabana nightclub in NYC.
      Thanks again.

What a wonderful idea for a video Steve. Maybe in the future some of these might change. I could be wrong but I originally thought Shirley Temple's family didn't have or didn't want a public burial location for her but later on did have one in Palto Alto (?) CA. It doesn't mention the public Shirley but more notes her family ties. I have always wanted a public resting place to visit for Cary Grant and Doris Day to one day pay my respects at. As a side note, that David Bowie mural was incredible. Again, this was a wonderful video Steve. Have a great weekend. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵

You forgot Bud Abbott, of the legendary Abbott & Costello comedy team. He sadly died penniless and upon his death his ashes were scattered over the Pacific Ocean.
Andy Williams' ashes were scattered in the small river "Moon River" outside his Moon River Theater in Branson, MO, among the koi fish that he had personally stocked it with. The theater still bears his name and is still home to a variety of live musical performances.

What a FANTASTIC mural of Bowie!!! Whoever painted that is a serious talent!
One that "got away" in your montage was Bowie's duet partner on "Under Pressure"....The LEGENDARY Freddie Mercury! I read Mary Austin has his ashes and she may have buried or scattered them, but she is never going to reveal it!! I like to think Bowie and Freddie are floating around in Rock-N-Roll Heaven somewhere! That's where I hope I end up some day...imagine the "concerts" there...LOL!!!

My mom's wishes to he cremated also, but my dad would just cry with her ashes on the fireplace mantle in the urn . So I suggested to my sister why not scatter her ashes in water where my mom was an avid swimmer. She was only 5' tall but swam way out like Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan). Everyone agreed, and on the day the boat my sister chartered had to go out 5 miles. My aunt my mom's sister said even though it was a cloudy day. When they sprinkled her ashes a ray of sun came through the clouds and that's where the ashes were,my aunt said it looked like diamonds glittering. I knew all was ok. 😌Mom was resting and at peace.

Thank you Steve. A lot of these you just showed I wondered about. A lot was cremated and like you said, thier ashes was either given to family or friends, scattered at sea. Or was privately buried. A lot of these I wondered and I'm shocked that fans have to place to go to pay respect to say thank you for whatever they meant to us in life. Lot of these are Big Names. Loved and Respected. I wonder if it was thier choice or thier familys..somehow maybe I'm selfish but I feel cheated that I can't pay respect to many of these.. for one reason or other I admired. They made me laugh, or touched my life in some way. Yes I be shocked that not only did they pass, but there is no wall of Remembetence, a plaque, a marker, nothing where myself and others can go and say thank you. Example Betty White. She was cremated and I'm told her ashes was given to a friend. I went she's not placed beside her husband. Betty was a Icon. Gave many of us a lot joy, her fans can't say Thank you. Yes I feel cheated in that Respect. I get where some famlies feel they don't want a place for people to go to member thier loved ones. I get those being buried on private property. Family don't want you tresspassing..but why can't there be a place with a photo, thier name for people like me to place a flower, say Thank you. Maybe in the Future. Family, Friends and Loved ones will think about atleast a place of Rememberence.. Once Again Thank You Steve. For letting us know. About these 50. You just answered my question. What happened to Bob Denver, Alfred Hitchcock. Why we never saw a final resting place. We know they passed, had some form of Memorial.Service. and that was that. These 50 people are not Forgotten. They have no final Resting place for those who Loved and Admired them to go and pay Respect. So now we know Why. 👍✌❤🕯💐to all those you just showed.🌻🦋✨💐🌹🌠🙏👏👏👏. Take Care. Be safe on the road. Always know you are Apperciated Steve.👍👏👏👏🤗❤. Love,Respect, and Positivity Always. Neita james. 🙂✌🖖🥰👋.

Cremation is a way of showing respect for our limited environment if everyone wanted a ground burial in a cemetery think of all of the green ways & Parks that have to be giving up

Thanks for honoring the celebrities who have no resting place, that is quite sad. My great- grandmother was a nurse for Larry Hagmans mother, and used to see him occasionally.

Hi Steve ! That was awesome ! Never knew they were cremated ! Maybe some of them have ashes at a family's home somewhere on a mantel.??! David Bowie very famous, you would think he would have a big elaborate stone ! Thanks for vlogging ,very interesting! Take care ! Deborah Canada

Steve, what you are doing is giving us the opportunity to remember. all of these amazing people. Some left this mortal plain on to next with family and friends by their side. Some left tragically. Regardless, their mortality may be gone, but their spirits live on. Thanks for sharing. The background music us beautiful.
