    Tip O' the day for basket cleaning:
    Place your "air fry basket" in your "sheet pan". It seats perfectly. Soak using your favorite concoction.
    Plain 'ol water removes pizza/ tator tot funk.
    It is a perfect soaking pan. Litte water needed.
    I use a spray oil before cooking.
    Also: When it comes time for advanced cleaning I'll probably use th same trick with a hand brush, just a little water, and every degrease spray I own.
    P.S. Why doesn't Ninja sell replacement pans at the store?

    I learned a little trick; you boil up a little bit of water and pour it into the pan when you're done cooking. That losens the fat, so you can pour it into a container. When you've saved up a decent amount, you can just boil the water away and you're left with pure bacon fat. Liquid gold that you can use when cooking those special meals.

    Great video though I would caution anyone that when using parchment paper to always be sure you’re not exceeding the temperature that the parchment paper can handle. Parchment paper that I can find at my local store can only withstand temperatures up to 420 and not 425 but again it’ll depend on where and what brand of parchment paper someone is able to get ahold of at the time. Overall, I plan on trying this method out at least once because those bacon look delicious.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  2 года назад

      great reminder. I am using the paper with the bacon as a tray liner that quickly gets covered with grease, so no chance of it scorching and catching fire. But to be sure, use foil if you prefer, or just wash the pan. ;) Hope you like the bacon, it really is delish.

      I use magic erasers. But depending on your 'need' to have things spotless inside, it will aways take a long time. No shortcuts there. These ovens are small and because they re deep, it is difficult. but there are things that can help - make sure you use the baking sheet below the air fryer as a drip tray. It catches a lot that then you don't have to clean up. And when possible, cover in some foil or at least 'tent' with foil.

      Hi, thanks for watching! So I am not entirely sure. Likely a couple things. The ends are more exposed, smaller and so cook faster. Also, I do observe things on the edges, when using the sheet pan, do cook faster. I suspect the air has to circulate around the pan causing hotter sides. When cooking on the rack directly I don't see that happen.

I tried to cancel it (after I remembered I ordered it), but I had waited too long. Good thing is, QVC will take it back whether you use it or not. Bad thing is, you didn't get your commish. =/
    Anywho.... The complaint I do have about the "Inspiration" guide uses too many pre packaged, supermarket items. I'd be happy to make a pound of good asian, home made meatballs one weekend and freeze them in smaller batches. The trouble is, I don't have specific instructions for this appliance. I'll figure it out, and send you my results. I have no desire to woman a new youtube cooking channel. It's too much work.
    I do have a suggestion, though. When you need to break for 15-20 mins while yummy treats are cooking, I'd love to see examples of water color paintings or something else and then you can tell us tell us which video(s) to watch.I'll finish watching your cooking video (I don't want to be rude), and dash to the suggested videos. just a thought. Did you make it to the end of this comment? Congratulations! =D

    does the bacon make a mess inside the Ninja with all the grease?

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  2 года назад +2

      It's not been our experience. As the bacon is raised and grease drips into the pan, the bacon is not sizzling and popping grease everywhere.

      @@lghrigsby1 HaHa, yes. thanks. Actually a lot of people cook bacon in an oven, especially when you want to add sugars and spices. Not really that unusual.

      I also belong to a Facebook group for recipes for soup makers (the electric device). A woman recently suggested we use a large saucepan instead. I suggested she find a FB group for large saucepans! 😂

      In instructions for the Ninja type XL they put wet paper towels in the tray that absorbs the smoke and smell. Going to try that today and pray I don't electrocute my Ninja.

    That's an awful long time to cook bacon. I thought air fryers were supposed to be faster.
    I just lay it in a shallow bowl, cover with a paper towel and throw it in the microwave for 3 or 4 minutes. Then I can pour the fat into a jar to save and use for cooking.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  8 месяцев назад

      I'm glad you commented. There are many ways to accomplish the same things. If speed is your greatest value, then of course use the microwave. But some find microwaves to dry foods out and speed is not at important and as I am showing ways to use this particular oven, then this is a good method.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  Год назад

      yeah really. I know a lot of people save it for future use, but we don't do a lot of frying and so it just gets old and in the way. But of course if you will use it, by all means don't toss it!

    Delete this mess. You should have used aluminum foil. Also if you had the oven at 400 you wouldn’t have the burnt ends and also soft bacon at the same time. You totally botched the reasons for covering the pan. Ugh

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks  2 года назад +7

      Hmm. I’m glad you watched but our method works for us just fine. And we try not to use foil too much as it doesn’t breakdown in landfill. ;). The paper works great to prevent burned elements on pan to clean.

      air fry would be good too. they both work. We chose bake as we used to make it in the full size oven and just moved it over to the ninja using our same method. Just experiment to see what you prefer.
