      If you are setting a temp you might be baking instead of toasting. The toast mode has you set the shade level and number of slices. Check to make sure you’re using that setting

    Sorry but the turning the wall switch off is a lame problem. Using clear tape is a reasonable solution. Does Hunter have a remote wall switch? If they do its definitely your solution. Did you try connecting to Alexa? Apple is not known for spending resources on their apps! I tried connecting my lights to Apple Home and ran into the same issues youre having with multiple fans. Also, I stopped using Apple Home due to it losing connections to several different utilities. Hunter has its own phone app how is that working? You have to diverse if you’re serious about having a Smart Home!

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks 7 дней назад

      Well, Apple home works just fine and the fans also are now working well too. And you are right that in all of life, making sure light switches remain on is not a big deal. BUT as for a smart home product, that is not so smart of a design. Choosing where the smart features reside is a filter I didn't investigate well enough. Smart switches and dumb fan is a far better set up.

    • @richardb7093
      @richardb7093 7 дней назад

      @@MrAndMrsBanks once again, as others have advised, its all about the power control switch! You’re given 3 options but the one you’re looking has to be a wall remote switch. Minka Aire has one and it works great (unfortunately the loud hum of fan was a deal breaker). The switch allows the fan to be off yet still can still be remotely controlled.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks 7 дней назад

      @@richardb7093 Hey thanks for watching and engaging. I'm not sure we are all that far off on our conclusions. However, this is a review of the Hunter smart fan. Having a different brand fan is not my solution as I already had purchased this one. So I have to figure out the best way to use this one. And so, the light switches are left on at all times (or I need to hard wire them and put a plate over the boxes). If I had to do it all over again I would get the Lutron Caseta switches and a dumb fan. The Caseta switch is in effect, as you state, a wall remote, however, unlike a remote it can be added to the voice activation of any version of a smart home. So again, unless I am missing something, we are essentially saying the same thing. yes?

    • @richardb7093
      @richardb7093 6 дней назад

      @@MrAndMrsBanks Nothing is perfect. The Caseta requires a hub and the Hunter wall switch remote requires a battery. A battery!! Should win the WTF Design award…Is the fan quite? Does it meet your fanning requirements? As of now its my 1st choice after installing and returning 2 MenkaAires due to noise..

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks 5 дней назад

      @@richardb7093 Hey! I feel the fans are quiet. I like it well enough and happy with the fan itself aside from the smart home concerns. But nothing is perfectly without the 'white noise' and we like that. So you might feel otherwise.

Make sure the aluminum is not touching the top heating elements. *Do not wrap the crumb tray in aluminum foil* ."

      I hope it works well for you. Remember to keep the tray in under the basket when air frying. For the bacon we used the tray, so you should be good there. There are 'dedicated' air fryers that might perform better for that use, but the magic of this oven is all that it does and it does do well for air frying too.

    Wow. Haha. You really are blatantly honest but also able to admit when you are wrong about certain things which I appreciate. Totally agree that some of the materials and finishes for DVC are trending cheaper - hope that stops but am not optimistic. I feel like if your first room had been the non ADA room with the monorail pool the overall tone and enjoyability of your stay would have been so different. I think it wouldn't hurt (if you are willing) to pass along your comments to DVC about how the ADA rooms fall short and why. Yes I get most people have shorter stays at DRL but some people like to have drawers and you should get significant amount of them like you said regardless of ADA or not. I'm glad you were able to see the size of the non-ADA rooms - they are actually on the medium to larger size for DVC (more square footage) than deluxe studios at Bay Lake (no surprise), Beach Club, Boardwalk, Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek and Saratoga. I wish California didn't have the TOT but you're going to pay it no matter where you stay so hopefully you do return to Disneyland. You said if Aulani were to have TOT you would immediately sell your points. Well now that you know it does I hope you don't. Same as CA - something you just have to pay. Makes our trips to FL seem cheap in comparison - haha. Appreciate your review and yes totally check out the 1-2 bedrooms - they have a little of the build quality issues but mostly are just gorgeous and spacious... but yeah about that TOT. A Lot! haha Thanks Banks family - see ya around the parks.

      I do not get much smoke. Do you keep the tray in under the basket? If not the drippings would be falling directly on the heating elements and that would cause a lot of smoke. If you do have the tray in, then I am not sure why this happens. Others have commented they have this issue as well.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks 2 месяца назад

      hello! Thanks for watching and asking some questions. ECVs cannot ride on sand, so you would need to park on one of the paths and then walk to lounge chairs and water. That was one of the limitations we were trying to show on the video. As for dining rooms, usually they as for you to park the ECV outside the restaurant and then walk to your table. If you are unable to do so I have seen them let you ride to your table (or as close as you can get) and then transfer to your chair. Either a traveling partner or the waitstaff would then move the ECV to the parking area and then bring back to you after the meal. I hope that helps.

    I just wanted to point out one inaccuracy in your video. The way they do the transient tax at Disneyland Hotel is not coming to The Grand Californian. In fact The Grand Californian has always had the transient tax, but it’s built into the dues. When they built The Grand Cal, they worked out a much better deal so the tax is lower and it doesn’t have to be paid separately…. That’s not changing. I’m not sure where you got that information. What’s crazy though is that the dues at The Grand Californian, even with the transient tax included are cheaper than the dues at Disneyland Hotel without the transient tax… when you add on the transient tax the dues at the Disneyland Hotel are over $12 a point. It’s also less convenient than the grand Californian because you have to pay them at the end of your trip. I think the main reason that the taxes is cheaper at the grand Californian is that they have to be paid by the owner, regardless of whether or not they stay there. At Disneyland, hotel if an owner stays at a different resort they don’t have to pay the taxes on those points… so they are higher so that the government can still get paid. ;) The Grand Californian is a much nicer hotel and has a much better deal when it relates to taxes and dues. It’s also getting a full remodel next year. If you’re interested in DVC at California, I recommend buying a resale contract there… however The Grand Californian is the most valuable DVC resort. It’s the only resort that Disney does not sell directly, and the resale value is usually higher than the direct price. (that’s why Disney doesn’t sell it). Also, Aulani already does have a transient tax that has to be paid separately. It always has. It’s much much lower than the Disneyland hotel though.

    • @MrAndMrsBanks
      @MrAndMrsBanks 2 месяца назад

      I am aware both the Aulani and GC have a transient tax that is significantly lower. I hope I am wrong, but don't think I am, that the GC tax is going up. When I was inquiring about the huge cost in the tax with the front desk, the rep there told me that on Jan 1, 2025 it was increasing at the GC as well. Anaheim has passed a new fee structure and as city tax is not part of an owners contract it can be levied at any time. Again, I'd be happy if I am wrong. But if I'm not, I won't be staying at DVC CA again.

      @@MrAndMrsBanks you're both right, the tax is built into owners of VGC annual dues, but the dues can and do increase. The main difference here is paying for the room tax after your stay. Those who use VGC points at VGC currently DO NOT have to pay a tax at checkout, it's paid in dues. This can change at any point if the state/city pass new laws/regs/statutes ... I actually called DVC to confirm this information.

    Someone gave me one of these Ninja Toaster ovens that is also supposed to be an air fryer. As a long time user of air fryers I believe this unit is poorly designed. It is too large for most kitchen counters. As someone pointed out it is very difficult to clean. I have tried heating Pizza and the cheese drips all over the heating elements which will result in burnt charcoal that is impossible to clean. I haven’t tried air frying chicken but I can only envision a Smokey disaster when the drippings make contact with the bottom elements. The unit is very narrow so it would be impossible to roast a chicken or other large piece of meat. Additionally, the unit does not shut off when you open the Door. BTW that pizza that you cooked is not fully cooked or browned the actual time it take to heat a pizza is the full 20 preset minutes. Tray baked lasagna also does not look fully cooked. In all I would give this toaster oven a 4/10. I don’t recommend this product at all there are much better options on the market.

      When using the air fryer or frankly anything that would drip, keep the black tray in. That will help. It doesn't help you, but the newer model is a bit taller and one can cook bigger items. Most people cut a chicken to lay it flat. (spatchcock). As with any oven, you just need to learn how it works with time and temp adjustments. As you can tell from all my videos on it, I love it. And the fact it flips us is what makes it good for saving counter space.

    I have the air fryer model, yesterday I spent and hour with 4 or 5 SOS pads to get some really bad grease at the back, worked quite well, didn’t get every bit off but it is certainly a lot better

      yeah, I think just a bit of elbow grease, as they say, is what it takes. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Thanks. In 2024 still a valuable review … great tip about parchment paper. As definitely can’t use aluminum….

      Glad it was helpful! Yeah, even though it is 'years' old, the machines are the same still. I did review the newer model a year later, so hope you will check it out as well.

    The fan is nice, BUT the app sucks and Hunter customer service is slow and terrible. I've finally got it to work with alexa, but now the original remote no longer works. My other smat fans, not by Hunter, were easy to setup and the original remotes still work. Never buying another Hunter fan again.

      Yes, as the video shows I had set up issues too. But it all works finally for me and my remote also works. But the wall switch is still my frustration. I'm sorry your remote doesn't work. Id suggest their customer support, but you and I both know better. lol.

    You are so lucky that you can cut down oak trees we live in California in the San Diego area. We are not allowed to cut oak trees. Unfortunately we have about 25 on our property. I hate them. They make a mess. We did have them all thinned out very expensive, but at least we don’t have as many leaves falling anymore.

      We had to get a permit. In general one can't remove them here either. But it was a danger so the permit was granted. I was of course very sad. Being from CA cutting it down was 'painful'. LOL
