Just the simple fact that Callaway priced these irons at Individual Irons From $300 each iron and Sets From $2,100 compared to TaylorMade at $1,400 per set, with the numbers being almost the same across the boards, I can't see how to justify that big price difference for really no performance difference. Just my thought.
@@embersgolf makes sense! I’ve been playing for a year and thinking about upgrading clubs. I have pretty decent ball striking but stuck between p790s and the Ai smoke. Which ones would you prefer? Don’t really have any opportunities for a fitting where I live.
@@matthewsims8944absolutely spend the 100 bucks and get fit for clubs before spending 1200+ on irons you might not like and don’t fit your swing speed, tempo, feel etc. I originally wanted P790s in the stock stiff shafts and ended up being the best with the Apex Ai200s with Xstiff custom shafts. I have never played better since I put them in the bag.
I saw a review on the black titanium infused Apex irons, and the black finish was wearing very badly. Cobra's King Forged MB/CB irons seem to be the only black irons with a long-lasting finish.
That’s our channel… there’s piles of guys out there reviewing clubs that can stirpe it. You should watch them. We review products for the average golfer, what happens when you miss hit them. Much more realistic point of view

But whatever, it’s your channel. I just wanted to see what these can do if struck well. How do you fit people when you can’t hit well? Maybe it doesn’t matter.
I’d take this over a scratch or 4 handicap complaining about the lack of “feel” on a GI iron or lamenting how “these aren’t for me”. I’d much rather see how they perform with a more “average” golfer.

Did you guys use the ‘21 P790? I saw the more v shape chrome on the back towards the toe vs the ‘23 more straight chrome band heel to toe on the back.

I have these with axiom shaft. Nice clubs but the coating gets off so quickly. After one round they look like the would be 1 season old 😂

They aren’t apples to apples. The smoke are gonna closer to the qi irons

There isn’t a black finish out there that hold up like chrome
I'm not sure why, but for some reason, black clubs feel softer and better to me... 🤷
