I do no claim to be a harp player yet but I did post a couple of things I made up. So I love that you encourage making videos. It is like making a document of my own progress.
OK, Christy-Lyn. I think that I may try this, this academic year (2021/22). It's not my first instrument, and I feel totally inadequate, but you are right. You are a great motivator! I also like your arrangements.
Thank you, that is very kind of you :) I'll see how it goes - if it turns out ok I'll upload it to youtube and let you know :) I haven't been playing that long, so it won't be very impressive. But I really want to grow as a harpist and I think your are completely right, making videos will help me do that.
Wonderful! It's amazing what recording videos can do to motivate yourself to keep going. Are you planning on uploading harp therapy videos regularly? :)
Great points Christy-Lyn! I've started recording myself a lot more, and really see where I was off tempo, and/or technique. So, it's a very effective teaching tool and everyone out there playing an instrument should incorporate it with their practice time. I'm hoping one of your next topics will be how to calm the "jitters" before a performance, which can sometimes be debilitating. Thank you! Slainte, Gloria🎶🎶😍
I just use my iPhone 6plus camera to record on and upload on RUclips capture. For me the videos are a way I can share my harp playing without actually playing in front of an audience. It may take me 2 to 15 takes to get it were I like it. But then it's up there for ever.
That's great Laurie! It also takes me MANY takes to get a performance I'm happen with... sometimes even more than 15! Let me know if you have any other questions to assist in your video-making :)
Yes, many takes!! I'm tired at the moment - it's hard to be coherent. I'm not sure what 3link chain you're referring to, could you try to explain please?
when I download links then sometimes there is a C and a reverse C with a horizontal line in between. I interpreted it as a 3-link chain. your concert 1 did it the other day as well. I tried later and then it was gone so I could download it.
Why don't you continue with your weekly Harp Help videos? I liked to watch them although as a non-harpist. I could not really take use of it. But it was interesting to learn a bit about everyday's life of a professional musician. I hope, you are fine.
Thanks so much for your encouragement and concern. I'm definitely going to continue with Harp Help, I just took a little break because things were rather busy and overwhelming with my music at the moment. But there will be a new video this Thursday! I'm so pleased you enjoy watching them even though you aren't a harpist. Do you have any other ideas of Harp Help videos that might be interesting for people to watch who aren't harpists? I'd like to keep helping harpists but it would be fun to make the videos entertaining for others too :)
Is it cheating to give you 5 thumbs up, because that's how I feel like on the Harp......5 thumbs and no fingers. I never got those strings on, yet. Having trouble knowing what to order. I made some progress, but it's slow.

Very inspiring message. Thank you for that.

That’s wonderful!! When you’re ready to get started, I have a free video series on RUclips called “How to play the harp: start here” 🥳💕
Really great advice, thank you!...think I'll have a go at creating my first video this weekend. eek!!
That's wonderful to hear!! Please let me know if you have any difficulties and I'll do my best to help out :) Will you upload to RUclips? :)

This is great! I wanted to share my harp therapy videos and it keeps me motivated as well to keep up with therapeutic music.

You had quite a few takes. I appreciated the information. thank you. Why do some video's have this 3link chain on them

Bad advice.
Why?
