  • Hey everyone, Wanted to help out some people with problems on these old bikes. Is your ATV running hot? running lean? excessive top end noise? your a DIY'r and do not have a gauge to check oil PSI on your ATV but want to check possible causes? this is a good place to start for low oil pressure! Good thing to clean for preventative maintenance!

    I just did this to my 99 King quad after viewing your video. There was definitely some sludge and foreign objects built up over the years.
    Thanks for the great video!
    How about a video on clutch adjustment? I haven't seen one on RUclips yet for the king quad.

    I’m gonna clean out mine this weekend! Also I did replace the front seal, easy job, you just need to separate the front ujoint in place, but once you make up your mind to do it, it’s a breeze.

      Not a problem. This is good to check for sure. When i bought mine i took the plastics off and pressure washed and cleaned everything. Checked wheel bearings, changed front Diff fluid. Change the oil and filter and you are good to go. Lots of other stuff that can be done of course.

      +Cdn Glenwood thanks for the comment! They are great ATVs and they really are simple and well designed. We just got nailed with snow here and i have been plowing with it. If you can find a blade for yours do it. They are great. Let me know what you need help with. I will be uploading another video soon. I have to ask CDN i assume is canadian, and glenwood, are you in northern ontario also? I recognize the name glenwood. Cheers!

    You don't need to remove the screen from the looks of it. Just clean it while its still in there? The reason I say that is I can't get the screws to loosen on mine so spraying it with air should do the trick for the big stuff.

    Hi there, Thanks for your help with the videos. My engine overheated the other day and blew the lower gasket so I had to take the cylinder head off to replace it. However im trying to figure out could a lack of oil pressure have caused the initial problem? How do I actually check my oil pressure? How can I make sure the oil pump is working? Thanks again

    • @Schneids15

      Hey so there is a port on the oil filter housing. I believe spec is only 4-5 PSI or so. It is worth checking to make sure it is clean.

    I just bought my 1996 KQ 300. So, I haven't performed any maintenance yet. But other videos seem to show only an oil filter behind the cover you removed, near the see-thru window. Where exactly is the screen located?

    • @Schneids15

    Hey there , I sask here what I'm looking at a machine with 2500 km on it, looks good and seems to run well , is that considered low or high mileage ? I know it's a loaded question because it depends on ownership and maintenance. But in general how it that for km?

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  Год назад

      Right on! I have been thinking of moving to Sask actually. Have to ask what part? I really like the south end.
      A snow plow on them is amazing. Pull out the pin on the diff lock so you can go into diff lock in low and high range and they are amazing. I plowed with mine for years (you should find the videos on my channel) a genuine old Suzuki plow can be picked up cheap usually. I like them because they have there own frame that spans under the atv and attaches to the trailer hitch. It is really strong.

    How can you tell if it has low oil pressure

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  5 лет назад +1

      You have to buy a gauge and test. They only run about 4-6PSI if i recall.
