looks great! your are more dedicated than i would be to something like that! The 90s is the least attractive era; so i understand it. i like the older grills also but the one on my 84 isnt too bad. still kind pays homage to the older style
Awesome video, but would I do this? Lol too much for me! I'll keep the setup in my 95 G-20 as is! Love the video! Thank you for going through it step by step! You gain another subscriber!
Im picking up a sweet bone stock '87 G30. It has that base model 80s grill which, i dont hate. But i cant decide whether to swap it to a 70s style or the style your van had on it before you changed it. My dad had a '77 g10 growing up and he loved it. I didnt get it 😂 but im almost 35 and now I get it too 👑
I have a 92 G30 that I have wanted to do this conversion on since I bought the van 10 years ago. I also wanted to swap my broken steering column and pulled in from my 83 parts van only to find out after I pulled my bad column out that the firewalls are different and the shift mechanisms are different.
Thank you so much for the video. Very detailed and I will definitely be using this, just picked up a grill and luckily all the other stuff needed. Any things you think you would do differently after driving it around for this long?
You swapped out the grille, looks good. While you have them, swap out the side markers. Then if you can find them, the taillights. Nice work on the polishing.
Yeah definitely I want to swap out the side markers and tail lights, the two that are on the RV are in very rough shape so I’m on the hunt for some decent ones.
Can you please tell me the part number for the original 1977 and down upper radiator core support hood latch plate that the grill attaches to that you're holding at 8:57 it should be engraved on it somewhere. Thanks
Gem brand bumper guards in chrome with the rubber strips are out there for the '78-'95 vans. They would blend in better with the look and they are taller, so offer more protection.
Sorry you feel that way my friend but in reality both those grills were on their way to the crusher so I saved them, vehicles really rust here in Canada
Dude I just got a 78 Chevy shorty and I have a 73 Chevy van that has a perfect grill and this video is bad ass step by step. Thank you
Thanks for watching, attached some pictures when you’re done
Thats strait up a good comment man
Well at least you got the most hard to find grill very rare.iv been looking for that spacific grill for 11 years.good job.
Sometimes these vans with the grill you want sit in peoples backyards broken down u just have to knock on their door and buy the whole van
GOLDEN INFO man! Thank you so much for posting this you have no idea how happy i am
No problem
Awesome video, super helpful to see all the differences between the vans. Will definitely be referencing this when I do my 93!
👍
Very detailed and awesome video man.
Thanks again
The camper was a good find. I’ve been look for bumpers for years now for my 74 G10.
Save the lower a frames too.. nice job..
Thanks

Beautiful RV.
Well Done! Very entertaining. Brings back memories of my swap. That's a pro job.

Lol
Do it
I love it, it came out great!
Thanks, yes it did it looks amazing
Very nice!!! How does the G30 ride compared to the G20? I can get a G30 pretty cheap, but I would think it would ride pretty harsh.
I love mine
Lord have mercy. Dude chopped this up.
Maybe I did but it worked in the end
Nice looking Grille!
Thanks, I love the way it turned out
That. was cool!!! Great job!
thanks and thanks for watching

It’s crazy how many differences there are.
Of course the old style is metal..... compared to new style which is all plastic three pieces.. Nice job...!!👍🏽
Thx
Great job! Cool video.
Thx 🙏🏻
LS swap the RV, maybe the van too. I'd love to have a G10 shorty again.
Thank you so much for the video. Very detailed and I will definitely be using this, just picked up a grill and luckily all the other stuff needed. Any things you think you would do differently after driving it around for this long?
No problem thanks for watching. Honestly it looks awesome and I wouldn’t change a thing, very happy with the results
Great Job Man!!!!
Thx

You can get the sidemarkers from Rock Auto for about 10 bucks a pop www.rockauto.com/?carcode=1029934&parttype=11720
I wonder how hard it would to convert that
camper van into a cut away work van
with a flat bed on the back?
Probably not hard but it's rusted out
Just subscribed and thumbed up your
video
Thanks

Hey sorry I couldn’t find any numbers on it not too sure but if you watch the whole video you don’t need it
Let me get that old grille even tho it’s probably long gone lol
Cracking me up.
👍
Great job. i missed the part as to why? looks good was just wondering
It just looks so much cooler driving down the road now
@@ProblemSolverGarage agreed
Od razu lepiej mu z tym przodem, mi się podoba. Dobra robota.
Dzienki 👍
Tengo una 1992. Saludos desde chile. Bro
Swap the bumper too. The rubber pads are a dead giveaway

impressive, thanks for sharing
Np 😉
I would have kept the RV intact and left your van original.
The RV is rusted out, but I’m still keeping it as a guest house and I put my front end on it which looks fine
If you still have the original 2 light grill. I'll buy it off you
Has anyone done it the other way? Round to square headlights?
I did, I put my front end onto the RV, similar process but I never made a video
If you want to sell the front bumper off the motor home with the brackets and upper grill mounting bracket let me know.
Hey no not selling anything I’m using the motorhome, it has the front end on it from the other van
Couple little screws!
👍
Why, why, why, original is way better. Just get it rechromed
Or even just spray it with rattle can stuff
you did ruin the very good looking front of the van😭
It looks way better now.
this video kinda made me mad. people out here trying to save old 70 chevy vans and cant find parts and youre hanging them on your 2000 dodge van.
it does look good with that bumper
Sorry you feel that way my friend but in reality both those grills were on their way to the crusher so I saved them, vehicles really rust here in Canada
That's vannin' mix and match whatever works, you already know this. Great vid.
You destroyed a beautiful old camper for that shity van
That camper was on his way to the crusher I actually saved it, using it as a guest house
And my van is mint.
