❤Jason, B after old Gas Scrubbing , use little wire wheelind, the use 2 to 3 coats of a direct to metal primer, then 2 coats black brush on black paint, I've watched videos of guys using cheap paint, just as good as the way over priced POR 15, Jason B, Wichita, Ks 🎉🎉🎉
The big problem with custom work is that you learn everything and then the next one is different and you have to learn all over again. The upside is each time you add a little more to the old database. I love the early Chevy vans and I'm sure this one will be nice.
There are one of these vans sitting on route 8 north of Pittsburgh Pa. Its the short version. I pass it every day while I am working. I wish I had the money to build one.
I have some info you might be interested in. Love the build on the 67 cause I have 2 of those vans a 66' and a 65' I too am going to convert my 65 to 4wd and am watching closely to see how you have done things. But getting to the reason I'm posting is the power steering issue. I know you have mentioned electric power steering in your videos but here is a company making a kit for this van ( EPAS Performance ) hope this helps and keep on working on this van please !
Yes, we use oven cleaner alot. Just works better when you can heat up the stuff, like letting it sit in the hot sun. Thanks for watching and commenting.
🎉❤ Seth ask about cleaning a AXEL good 👍 cheap n easy, Up in Iowa my Farmer Family members, would use old GAS ⛽️ ,old gas, n clean up parts ext, even old Oil from the oil change, they would paint underneath underneath their farm truck frames axles ext, with that old oil to stop Rust from the Hard Iowa Winters, they use alot of salt 🧂 on the roads, Love u channel, Jason B, Wichita, Ks 😊
Are you guys still working on this? I've got a 67 chevy 90 inch wheelbase van that I'm planning on doing the 4x4 conversion. Its already got the 350 motor, 350 transmission, and 10 bolt rear end in it. I've got to find the front end assembly, a transfer case, and decide on front springs. What transfer case did y'all end up going with? Any tips you guys could give me will be appreciated greatly.
Hi! Do you have a plan for front shocks? I didn't see any in this video. I am doing a very similar 4X4 swap and this is my current struggle. Stoked for the next video on this build! Thanks for making these videos.
We will be pulling this shop soon to finish it. We have left to do and figure out on this one. Just keep watching and we will get those videos out there. Thanks for watching.
You know there is a front to back way that you put the crossmember in on the motors you can put them in backwards on the stock one the mounting pillars should angle forward what was exactly the reason to have to modify it ? I’m definitely gonna watch this bill from start to finish.
I agree with van to van differences being an issue with "kits" but are there any components that shouldn't be an issue like rear leaf perches, different cross member styles depending on setup? Just curious, and it'd be a big help for a lot I'm sure. Love the channel keep it up!
Can't wait to see this one completed and on the road! Do you ever use cardboard as a template when fabricating pieces? I've found it useful when I can't just measure cut and weld something together. Keep up the awesome content!
Yeah, can't wait to get it done too, it will be an awesome ride. It has sure been a learning experience. We do you cardboard from time to time. Mostly just eyeball it. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Sand blasters work good, but the media gets into everything... and would hate to get it into the axle housing. Watch Robby Layton painting the Golden Nugget from Matt's Offroad recoververy. They got glass beads, bigger than sand, inside the housing.
I had a grey primer 67 everybody called it my Scooby van. Mine wasn't 4x4 and only had 3 widows. I'd really hate to ever have a front end collision in one of those I'd imagine you'd lose your legs at best.
I did I did I subscribed and I liked the video the thing about that road Grime is over on Fab rats they've been using easy off oven cleaner they spray it on there and then hit it with the pressure washer and man you talk about slick boy
More damage than good is correct especially when you're using modern products to go back and replace something that is a higher likelihood of being a superior product than what you're putting in it you be changing stuff thinking oh I'm going to change it and be better but really you're putting something in it that will break over something that hasn't broken yet
Love the vans and shows
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Biggest thing I enjoy in a good channel is showing in detail what/why you're doing and how to do it. Yalls content is great. Well done
Thank you again. We will keep doing the best we can. Sometimes you get some wrapped up in working you forget to document. We are trying to get better.
The 67 is the first van l ever owned. 250 3 on the tree..lots of great memories. really enjoy your channel very informative content.. thanks guys..
Thank you so much. We hope to keep bring good stuff. Thanks for watching and commenting.
We can’t wait to bring this awesome van home
We are getting it there. This one has been a little of a challenge, but it will be one awesome van!. The videos will be coming soon. Thanks!!!

I would love to see that thing rolling down the road. Good stuff, thanks.

Oh yeah! This one has been a learning process. More on this one will be coming soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thank you. I completely forgot about those. They do work great. Thanks for watching and commenting.

For cleaning purposes on the axles, oven cleaner works great on a lot of this old caked on grease. Just rinse with a water hose….

Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, we will be going over pretty much everything we have found in our other videos.

oven cleaner and a propane torch.
Sand blaster might help with cleaning the axles. Just don't hit seals or breathers
Yes, we have talked about that. Just got to do what we got to do right now. Thanks for commenting.

@@greggoett Thanks for the info and thanks for commenting. I follow Robby and Matt both. Great channels.
That's true. I do a little here and there and it can be a mess that's for sure. But sure does it's job well and fast lol

Oh yeah. Probably why they quit building that body style.
Love to make my 2001 dodge a 4wd with parts from a newer ram , including the hemi motor
That would be an awesome build. Thanks for watching.
