I agree, we will miss you! Enjoy your time off. I absolutely love grilled sandwiches and soup, this was perfect for the time of year.I especially appreciated the game plan at the end- so helpful! I'm looking forward to making every single one of these recipes for my family.
Aw thanks for that :) The whole "time management" of cooking is so key. I feel it can really turn people off to cooking/entertaining because no one ever tells them how to do that :) And then after a few stressed out parties they don't go back into the kitchen! LOL! So I'm trying to change all that :) 1 video at a time!
WOW! These all look SO GOOD! I live in Michigan & we're expecting a big snowstorm over the next 48 hours. Watching this makes me want to run to the store & get some of the ingredients to make a co u old of these soup and sandwich combos while we're stuck inside during the storm! Also we have a favorite baked potato soup that the ham & cheese sandwich would go really well with. Thanks so much. Glad I discovered your channel.
I LOVE YOU! Your recipes are great, when you make italian food you do the right surf (I'm Italian) and you always say when something is just INSPIRED from Italy or France. Plus your family is wonderful and it reminds me of my childhood, coz my parents are beautiful and in love just like you and your husband, my mom is a chef and we are 2 daughters just like yours. Love you!
Dear Beth, it's been less than 48 hours since I stumbled across your channel. I cannot express how much I love watching your videos. You make cooking look so easy and enjoyable, I feel warm and fuzzy inside every time I listen to your instruction. As a matter of fact, I'm having a Beth's videos marathon right now. All of your videos are filled with so much passion and love. I just want to show you my appreciation and please keep up with the extraordinary work. With lots of love from Belgium. Van
It's so awesome to read how one can prepare the food to be hot when guests arrive! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! You are the best...wish you had a show on the Food Network. No chef does this...tell you how to execute it to keep it hot. Thanks again!
Aw, thanks Van. That's so sweet. I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! You have such a beautiful country :) I bet it's a bit chilly there now compared to our California weather! I was there in January once and I've never felt such cold!! LOL! But I had a great time none the less! Just love the Belgian Moules Frites and gaufres! :) Happy Holidays!
I tried the fennel tomato soup. It is awesome! I added some cream before serving and some fennell leaves as garnish instead of thyme. The cream helps balance out the tang from tomatoes and you can smell the thyme added during cooking. All in all .. best soup ive tried so far
Great idea and great video! Can't wait to try this. I think I might host a party where everyone brings their own soup and sandwich creations, to lessen the work and cost. Thanks, KinCommunity!
The croque Monsieur with potato and leek was absolutely divine! One thing was though that I actually used sweet potato instead of potato, it added such a beautiful sweet and salty combo!
oh my goodness the corn chowder is soooo yummy! I just decided to go and make it right now because I had all the ingredients on hand and it took less than 20 minutes - you're right beth - the potatoes are perfect for adding that creamy texture! thank you so much!
Hello Beth! Thanks for your videos, they give me a lot of ideas for cooking at home, one of my favorites is how to cook a scrambled egg, of course I knew how to , but my toddler loves this new texture and flavor.I´ll keep watching to learn more!
Kin Community you are definitely my mom away from home. As a college student and a food enthusiast I really enjoy the simple, delicious recipes. Thanks for the inspiration! -Maya
Thank you fro answering my question. I plan on doing this for Christmas. Being 12, not many people will respect you as a chef/baker. Not even family. I hope I finally gain their respect on Christmas! By the way, this channel has saved my life! So many things I didn't even know were that easy to do! :D love from NYC!
Hello the style in which you entertain and decorate the food and meals has brought the standards of serving to the next level. I always look for ideas and ways to make home look beautiful and meals look amazing and now i am happy to have subscribed here. We don't eat pork and neither do we drink any alcohol . please is any recipes are made with those ingredients could you give us another option? or alternative?
You know it's so funny, I have never tried one of those immersion stick blenders but every time I have a soup recipe video with a blender people always ask me about that! LOl! I'm so old school, I just so skeptical that they work as well! Do they??
This is fantastic! Thank you! I love the idea of experimenting with grilled cheese and soup and such, but by the time I actually think about doing it, I'm hungry and can't think because I want food right that minute, so it's always the ol' stand-by. Definitely have to go shopping to try these out now.
I was actually skeptical about it working as well. I love to make black bean soup with chipotles and I recently decided to add baby spinach (just for some extra nutrition). I used a stick blender just to try it and it worked surprisingly well! The soup ended up being very smooth. Maybe give it a try? It might cut time and save on bowl clean up! Thanks for the response! I'm hooked on your videos!
Oh I love this! I like a chunky corn chowder! My dad makes the best! Being from the south, well, we like hearty stuff! LOL....so I think I would just puree a portion of the soup for bold flavor...keep the other half a lil chunky, cutting my potatoes a lil smaller for bite size ease....and then put my puree back in the pot and go from there! I love your ideas. So sensible and easy! You are amazing!!! Be blessed! :)
Aw thanks! I have to say I have mixed feelings about this one because we shot it in the dead of August when it was 103 degrees outside, with no air conditioning! And there we were making hot soups all day! LOL! My crew was ready to kill me! Ha ha ha. But the food was great and that pie is hands down one of my favorite desserts!
looks so good but before i put the filling on the bread i add butter on the bread, i know lots of butter but taste so much better and it helps the filling to stick to the bread. try my caribbean grilled chesse with callaloo, garlic and onion mix with a english cheddar cheese. thanks for sharing...
Oh my gosh, I'm going to do this for our bday month! My son, husband and my birthday all fall on the same month. This is easy (hopefully) and I can relax!
Great question! Regular paprika has an earthy taste, where smoked paprika has a really great smokey taste. Kind of like the smokey taste of great BBQ sauce? It's a really awesome thing to create a smokey flavor without lighting up the BBQ! Great on a baked potato, in ketchup, or soups :) Enjoy!
this is exactly what I was looking for! Im having some new friends/neighbors over for lunch with their babies next weekend and was at a loss of what to make! You never fail me, Beth! :)
I so agree with you regarding Butternut Squash and that goes for so many other recipes -- people push some recipes to the extreme where I feel I am looking at a Bizarre Foods episode, LOL!!. Lastly Kudos for making the Corn Chowder with Vegetable Stock!! It is such a pet peeve of mine when people make a vegetable based soup with chicken/beef stock. So when true vegetarians come along they can not eat it! Thank you for being mindful of this! From a girl raised Vegetarian. :-)
Hi Beth, I'm a relatively new subscriber and love your formats and all the recipes look delicious! I will definitely be trying these great cheese toasty and soup combos. Thank you so much for sharing!
Beth, you know that, I love this section video so much, who will not like grill cheese with soup, fantastic! Really really thank your hard and your kind of love to sharing your recipe, love you Beth MOM ^3^
I'm salivating watching you make these soups. Where do you have the recipes we can print to make them. You are a bit fast for me to write them down. Your videos are really good. Thank you.
Hi Janey! You could absolutely make the soup today and reheat it for tomorrow! That works great! Thx also for your kind comments :) RUclips is actually more fun because this way we can actually chat about the recipes! Can't do that on TV! LOL gotta Love YT for that :) But appreciate where your sweet comment is coming from, so thank you xo
For the tomato fennel soup, you could probably put the bay leaf and tyme in cheese cloth, tie with string, then let the string hang over the top of the pot but close to the burner so it is easy to get everything out. It is called a bouquet garni.
Yum! This is perfect for today! I'm going to make these as well as pop tarts for the ultimate going away party! Wish I could attempt macaroons today....not on then mood though
I actually dragged those back from France Ha! Wrapped in dish towels, and kept them in a backpack as a carry on. I know crazy! But I just had to have them and they were so cheap! I have seen ones similar at Williams Sonoma too :) But not as cheap! :(
I agree, we will miss you! Enjoy your time off. I absolutely love grilled sandwiches and soup, this was perfect for the time of year.I especially appreciated the game plan at the end- so helpful! I'm looking forward to making every single one of these recipes for my family.
Please make these videos again it's the only thing that calms me down when I get anxiety. These actually make me really happy

I think it's really cool to see that you take a lot of your inspiration from your husband's French roots.

It's so awesome to read how one can prepare the food to be hot when guests arrive! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
You are the best...wish you had a show on the Food Network. No chef does this...tell you how to execute it to keep it hot. Thanks again!
Here's a good grilled cheese/soup combo; Blue cheese and tomato on dark rye paired w/a loaded baked potato soup ^_^.
+Melissa That sounds like a delicious combo!
Just thought of another great soup/sandwich combo; An antipasto grilled cheese on Italian bread w/roasted tomato, red pepper and basil soup :).
Aw, thanks Van. That's so sweet. I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! You have such a beautiful country :) I bet it's a bit chilly there now compared to our California weather! EVERYTHING YOU MAKE LOOKS DELICIOUS
It's a subtle flavor thing. It just gives the soup a richer, deeper flavor. But not critical if you don't have one :)
Hey Beth!! I love the stories attached to each of your recipes!! You are my favorite person on RUclips :)
This still my all time favorite menu 💕
My favorite sandwich and the soups looks delicious. I will make all of them
Really? OK I must get one! Anything to avoid cleaning one more bowl I'm all for! LOL! :) So glad you are enjoying the videos!! :)
