Ive been trying to plan a sophisticated yet atmospheric Halloween dinner party for adults, and this menu is absolutely perfect! Thank you for sharing!!
Agreed! But why did you remove her recipes? I don't see a section to search them either (I'm guessing a recent website update, but it's super bare-bones). Is she no longer a part of the Kin Community? I only see other digital creators listed...
I love this idea and theme. I did it a few years ago and everyone loved it. I'm actually going to make this again this year. It seems like a lot of work but if you follow her make ahead instructions, it comes together well.
This was so super helpful! I've been searching the internet for days looking for some yummy dinner ideas for Halloween, but everything I could find was based off of the gore factor. This is a sophisticated Halloween dinner that's pretty simple to pull off. I also like the tips at the end for when and how to prep.
Courtney Perry Oh good!! Glad to hear you love it. Thanks so much for watching and hope you have a wonderful holiday. Make sure to let us know how it goes!
Sure bittersweet chocolate would be fine, but you may want to increase the sugar 1/4 cup, if not using any semi-sweet chocolate. I'd reco the bittersweet baking chocolate like Nestle or Ghiradelli. In your baking aisle of your grocery store. They usually come in 4 0z bars. It's a GREAT cake for a bday! Enjoy!
Yeah! You will love it! I'd say you could swap out the alcohol for Sparkling water (lime flavored would be great) or plain would also do the trick. Enjoy!!
the perfect way to se, if your meringue is ready, is to rub some of it between your fingertips. If you can feel some grains of sugar, you need to let it whip up for longer.
I am throwing a halloween party this weekend, and I had my food menu planned out... Now everything is completely erased and changed to replicate this video. What an amazing video, she's so talented!
Flourless cake? Marvelous idea. I made the mushroom last night and doing the cake and topping today. I used Nutella instead of cocoa. I can't wait to see how my coworkers will like it.
Sure sparkling water works, or ginger ale would be good too. Hmmm, how about some hummus and pita chips? That would be a nice savory item to balance out the sweetness of the drink. If you search Hummus on the Kin Homepage in our video search bar, a really easy Homemade Hummus recipe will come up. Or another great one that will also come up with that search is the Greek 7 layer dip, another great appetizer idea that can be all store bought. Enjoy!
@thecandyqueen187 sure for the pumpkin punch, just replace the sparkling wine with sparkling water, and for the stew, just omit the wine. Both will still be good! And can I just say, I'm completely impressed that you are 11 and making this menu! That's about when I started cooking, and it's been a joy in my life ever since! Keep at it and good luck with the party! (Let me know how it turns out :)
Oh yes that would be a great one! Yes we need to put that one on the list! Something that might be similar, that I'm planning for Christmas, is a "Christmas Tea", complete with scones, tea sandwiches and little pastries. That would be a good menu for a bridal shower. You can look for this menu in early December. Stay tuned!
My favorite video of yours . I loved at the end how you told us how to get the look, so awesome, and the Merange mushrooms dusted with cocoa powder was my favorite thing about the video!!!!!! I will do this some day[:
This is such a great menu and theme. I started thinking of doing dinner and a show, i was thinking of just turning my whole house into like a halloween party with dinner and a show. Youve inspired me Beth. Thank you. Happy Halloween 🎃🎃🎉
I'm so with you on that! I almost didn't do a Halloween eps for the very same reason (too many artificially flavored food) But then everyone kept asking for one, and I just didn't have the heart to let everyone down, so I figured I'd do a Halloween "au natural". Fun and tasty! (And vote noted: side dishes!) Thx! Beth
Sure, you could swap out the mushrooms for some potatoes. I'd use a mixture of or red and yellow potatoes (the little ones) maybe 5 each? Boil them first until done, then quarter them, and add to to the stew at the same time you add the chicken. Enjoy!
Well I'm not sure that would work, since pumpkin puree is actually made from cooked (roasted pumpkin) You should actually buy 2 pumpkins if you want to do that. Be sure they are the "eating kind". Hallow out one cut into quarters and roast in a 400 degree oven until tender. Then scrape out the flesh and puree. OR you could just make a nice mulled cider by simmer apple cider (non alcoholic) with cinnamon sticks and star anise. Garnish with sliced whole apples :)
Well, I'll definitely be throwing a Halloween party this year, just so I can do this entire menu. It's only January so I'll have plenty of time to organize it :D
I am sooo inspired and excited for my Halloween entertaining! I'm planning my husband's 50th birthday party this coming weekend and will be using your fantastic, spooky decorating ideas and recipes, they are perfect! Thank you so much for the awesome inspiration! Congrats on your own channel. Happy Halloween!
I love watching you teach us. i love to watch even though I do not really cook but I am trying to teach myself little by little and learning from your videos :D
@anniegirl216 yes you could definitely replace the rosemary with fresh thyme, or just omit it altogether. Either way, it would still be good. :) Enjoy!
This year for my Halloween Party i will be using your pumpkin punch recipe and your witches brew soup recipe. I am truly excited to make both, that Cinderella pumpkin is beautiful, and i hope i do not have hard time finding it. Great ideas honestly.
I absolutly love your menus!! I have just been married for almost 3 yrs and just learning how to really cook, and your menus have been so fun to practice with! The only thing is that my husband and I do not drink, and most of our friends do not drink. Do you think you could offer non alcholic drink options? Other than that.... Love this channel, and good luck with your other channel!!
I will be making the pumpkin punch and the cake this year :D thank you so much for these ideas. I am going to have my first Halloween party this year for family. I can not WAIT to make some of these menu items. :D
Everything looks super fun and delicious. Love it and want to make the chicken stew and cornbread asap. The salad and the cake, too! Love your segments and so excited you are getting your own channel. I subscribed.
Yes! I have a some great ones coming up on the new channel. A yummy Provencal stew and a great appetizer, that looks elegant, but is cheap, cheap, cheap! Stay tuned! (So glad you like the show!)
Hey Beth I just tried making the chocolate cake it turned out perfect! It's all sunken and cracked. I'm just waiting for my mushrooms to bake then I"ll ensemble them. I also made your delicious chocolate chip cookies they were to die for! Everyone loved them. My sis, nieces and I watch and love all your videos you are absolutely amazing!
I LOVE the game plan even more than I love the recipes- well, it's pretty close. I'm somebody who likes to plan everything out but it can be difficult when there's a lot on my plate.
Yesss....I love your videos, Beth. You are now my favorite RUclips's chef and yours is going to be my favorite cooking channel as well, I'm sure. Yuhuuuu! Way to go, girl!
Yeah, today we had our first ever Halloween 🎃! And boy, was it fun and festive, also thanks to your awesome meal ideas! I made the punch (swapped the wine for some lemon bubbly drink because of the children) and served it in a big glass kinda jar; it was even better than I thought it would be and everyone loved it! Alongside I served both of your appetizers and also some deviled pumpkin-looking 🎃 eggs. Both my little nieces and my daughters favorite snack was your spider bite. Btw, I bought the wrong olives (had pits, and I didn’t have the time to un-pit them, lol, so I used red grapes 🍇) turned out awesome! For our main we had pumpkin soup as a vegetarian alternative. And of course I made your fall-harvest salad and boy, was it good! The perfect combination of bitter, fruity, crunchy and freshness. Will definitely keep this salad and the dressing in my repertoire. Oh, because I always fear to have too less to serve, I also made a mummy- looking vegetables tart, which was also good 😋 And yes! As a grand finale I made the complete wickedly good chocolate cake and omg, how crazy delicious it was! Definitely a keeper! In between the courses we did some fun Halloween activities like Halloween bingo and monster bowling to keep it interactive and to have some time in-between the courses. This was handy for me to have some kitchen-time. And also for our guests to kinda let the food go down a bit before they got the next bit (if that’s a proper way to put it...) So yes, we can look back at a very successful party; we had so much fun preparing and the reactions of our guests were priceless! So thank you, Beth, on behalf of my family and myself for inspiring me and providing so many wonderful ideas and recipes! Big hugz from overseas, Desiree 😘 Ps: I will mail you some photos! Unfortunately it can’t be shown here...🙃 Ps 2: And yes, I did dress up as a witch! Which was also so fun to do!
This is by far my absolute favorite menu of yours, Beth. I haven't made it yet, but I watch it ALL the time just for fun. My last comment on this video was only four days ago, haha.
