I have to hand it to Chef John, he really has his finger on the pulse for the holidays. This is a really handy idea. Thanks for the pointer, Chef! Thumbs up! 👍
I worked for a lady whose friend gave her a homemade birthday cake in the form of a kitty litter box. Complete with box, litter, scoop and yes, edible cat poop 😱😂🐱🎂
That last part may have beaten the "Who cares? He's dead" bit in your Salisbury steak recipe as the hardest I've ever laughed during one of your videos
Hey, John. Next time, pipe the room temp. mixture into a latex- free kitchen glove before freezing. Place the frozen glove on spiked platform and remove glove with a razor. Quickly wrap it up like a meat Mummy before it thaws. Happy Halloween!🎃
Oh my lord, I made this yesterday for my Halloween party, and it was a huge hit, tasty and hideous. I used one tub of garlic and onion cream cheese and one regular one, and I added a little minced rosemary instead of parsley since that's what I had "on hand." The steps of chilling and cutting off the fingers is a must if you want it to look good. My guests were very impressed. I added extra lumps of filling on the knuckles for a more striking look. Also, I added a lot of extra sriracha on the stump of the wrist so guests could grab an extra swipe of spiciness if so inclined.
Chef John, you are truly the Michelangelo of cream cheese and ham. This is 'hands down' one of the most interesting cheese spreads I've ever seen. I think I will take a 'stab' at making this for Halloween, and maybe for my lunch bunch kids at school They'll scream over it! Thank you so much for the video and recipe! 😊💖🙏
That would be a great prop in a horror movie, with the benefit of giving the crew something to chew. Every Halloween you continue to impress me even more!
Chef John has haters?? Who in the world could hate him!? He gives us delightful videos of yummy food, and has the best puns/dad jokes. That’s just madness and I won’t hear any of it…..
Hilarious! Always the CCFO (Chief Chef of Food Online) and now you're also Chairman of the Board. Definitely a must for the party. Will be sitting right next to the devil's dentures and the ghost bones. (Will be serving with fingers pre-cut for added effect).
You know, I usually have no interest in “themed” food, but this looks both easy and fun. Thanks chef John. Once again you prove yourself a hand above the others. 🖐
you probably don't have to worry about the pencil marks! :) pencil "leads" are really just graphite (which is just carbon) and clay, nothing really toxic in there. granted, I guess it isn't exactly food grade, either... but it's probably fine LOL
I made this for my work potluck today and it stole the show! Not only was it visually appealing but it was delicious as well! I got plenty of compliments and requests for the recipe! Thanks, Chef John!
Little tip if you want to make this a lot easier. Put the cheese spread into a piping bag/plastic bag, cut off the tip and just pipe it out into the hand shape. A lot less messy than having to finagle each little scoop with your fingers.
I have been watching you for years and not only did you get a theme that is spot-on awesome because I'm a huge fan of Halloween food decorating and the more macabre the better but also the ending with the finger... You are my hero! This is epic!! Thank you!! ❤❤❤😂😂😂
This reminded me of the still living "surgically" severed arm shown 25 minutes into Frankenstein: The True Story (1973), with Leonard Whiting as Victor Frankenstein, Jane Seymour as Prima, David McCallum as Henry Clerval, James Mason as Dr. Polidori and Michael Sarrazin as the Creature. I'd use Black Forest Ham for the flesh. And the foot would be infinitely better served at a Monty Python themed party, but you knew that already! Just sayin'... 😂😉😎 Thanks Chef John! Happy Halloween! Boo! 😎😈🎃👻🧙🏽♂💀😂😎
The way he leaves the middle finger till the end 😀 Gotta love Chef John.
He's likely the only RUclips I'd happily allow to flip me the bird, because we know the bird he's flipping is likely cheese-filled, yummy insults! :)
"to all the haters out there" ... perfect timing. TY Chef!
@@greencanofbeer "Talk to the hand"
yup, I am laughing over here!!!!!
This was awesome!
I’ve learned to love the corny Halloween recipes chef John posts every year
Are they candy corny recipes? 😂😂😂
Well done on the not-so-subtle ending Chef John.
I have to hand it to Chef John, he really has his finger on the pulse for the holidays. This is a really handy idea. Thanks for the pointer, Chef! Thumbs up! 👍
5 whole puns! Well done!
@vkiperman see what you did there. Give 'em a "hand." 👏
My sister is a cake artist. She also works in the medical field. One year she made an anatomically correct heart cake. Disgusting but interesting.
🤢
Give me the ❤ shaped heart any day! 🍰

Oh NEAT I wish you could share that picture. That sounds awesome I love A & P
Why disgusting? That's freaking cool, imo!
I adore the annual scary food tradition.
First viewing
I kept thinking "Holy Cow Chef John, slow down, save some for later" until you got to the middle finger. You fooled me!
Has Chef ever brought his cream cheese to room temp? 😆
That last part may have beaten the "Who cares? He's dead" bit in your Salisbury steak recipe as the hardest I've ever laughed during one of your videos
Off to look up the Salisbury steak video
@@stacyrynd7110 it's the part at the end where he is talking about the inventor of the dish. It's hilarious
Wow, This is certainly the best Halloween recipe/display Chef John has made....and his prior ones were all very good.
You are the Ed Gein of your treats for Halloween
Donner party pot luck.
C’mon man, that’s in bad *taste*
Hamd & cheese board. 😂 Thanks for sharing your recipes with us, Chef. You're the best!! 😊
Chef John is a national treasure! The Bob Ross of cooking!
I don’t know if I will get around to making this, but this was the funniest video I’ve seen on RUclips in quite a while.
that cheese hand was shockingly life like!
The Banshees of Inisherin! Great movie! Creepy hand Chef John, well done!
Hey, John.

@@EarthNeedsHeroes Oh yes!! I certainly meant that! Thank you for the correction! ☺
I’d love to hear Michelle‘s reaction to your Halloween recipes like this.
That would be a great prop in a horror movie, with the benefit of giving the crew something to chew. Every Halloween you continue to impress me even more!
Good idea @DonPandemoniac
You have NO idea how much I needed this video today! Thank you!!! :)
That finisher was impeccable. Much appreciated!!
I love seeing Chef John’s Halloween recipes every year. We actually did the meatloaf a couple years ago, and it was hilarious!
Mr. John....your seasonal awareness is off the hook.....this is way too cool....
I believe it is one of your top ten culinary masterpieces

Love you Chef John! As an ex-chef and ex-pastry chef, I always admire your creativity and attention to detail, this is so fun! Thanks for the idea!!!!
This is the best Hand and Cheese board ever!
Gotta hand it to Chef John for all the cheesy puns....
Was that middle finger left there intentionally?🤔🤣❤️ Love it! I will be trying to make this for sure. 👻🎃👽☠️
"talk to the hand". Yeah, sounds quite intentional.
um, yeah ...
Chef John does nothing unintentionally! 😂
Well, if you wouldn´t know it was a hand, it looks a little strange to me. Could be a body part which is slightly more oriented to the south 🤣
Oh yes, very intentional and very very funny!❤
That's so terrible , its brilliant.
I wasn't expecting a Banshees of Insherin reference, but this looks great
You know, I usually have no interest in “themed” food, but this looks both easy and fun. Thanks chef John. Once again you prove yourself a hand above the others. 🖐
Chef John missed his alternative career as a sculptor 😁

Ahhh... this takes me back to my early days as a fine, young cannibal.
I know the sriracha was just used for the blood, but I feel like this would benefit by using it in the cream cheese.
Great execution, solid construction tips, an an unmistakable bit of sign language to the haters at the end. Excellent!
Plot twist, that is an actual severed human hand... Chef Hannibal John
I made this for my work potluck today and it stole the show! Not only was it visually appealing but it was delicious as well! I got plenty of compliments and requests for the recipe! Thanks, Chef John!

John, I've been tuning in ever since you told me I was the Bob Dole of my tuna casserole. And I think this is your best video yet.
Love your videos, Chef. Thanks!
"Talk to the hand." Hysterical. Thanks for the laugh, Chef John!
“The ability to make fake thumbs out of cheese and ham is what separates us from all the other animals.”
Under quoted line from Origin of the Species.
I made this for my work potluck today and it was a huge success! Not just visually satisfying but delicious as well! Thanks, Chef John!
You're fantastic John
Chef, your humor never fails!
This is AWESOME!!! One year I did a meatloaf foot. Never has a coating of caramelized ketchup been more appropriate.
this is hands down my favorite thing you've ever made.
I always look forward to your halloween recipes, John! It is the most fun holiday.
You gotta hand it to Chef John, he's the best!
He is the best chef hands down 😁
Chef John, you're videos make me happy. Thank you!!

Chef John, your halloween recipes are the best, I love entertaining guests for Halloween to freak them out with your creations 😂😂😂
Oh Chef John! That ending was "hands down" the best I've seen.
Very cool, I love it. Thank you.

This is the first time i am serious shocked for the method of preparation. Using the ham is ingenious!
Terrifying and Delicious!!

That was awesome! I have to try it!
"Make this ahead"
No Chef John, you already did that with the zombie meatloaf, I thought we were doing a hand?
Oh, this is just awesome!!
youre off the chain with this one!!!!
as a home haunter, i would like to add that you can use thinly sliced almonds or garlic for finger nails. just a dash more creep factor.
I love it! I'm going to add pickles. Very clever!!
LOL you ROCK Chef John!! Love this so much 😂❤✋
That is simply awesome
Chef John!! It's been a while since I've watched a video that's truly given me a gut laugh, so thank you, I loved that! Talk to the hand indeed 🤣🤣👍👍
