Holding thanksgiving in my home this year is very exciting but very sad. 3 months ago my wife lost her mom (80 yrs old). This lady was so special to me , we would do all the cooking on the holidays together and she would teach me all her tricks and all the things that only a experienced cook would know. This is my first thanksgiving without her and she will be missed.

Tom Siracusano I know I’m saying thus 4 years later, but Im sorry for your loss. Also it is a good thing to honor her memory doing what you think make her happy when she was here. I thought that was being in good company and enjoying good love soul warming food. I know cause Im going to honor my mom from here to the end of my life that way. Blessings

I’m hosting this year since I have many things to be Thankful. I had back surgeries last year and it’s been hard on me as well as my family. I lost my job since I was not able to go back to work due to my illness, but that has not stop me from being great full to those who are still with me. And I’m walking with a cane and not a wheel chair or in bed rest. Also my Son came home from The Army to help. Thank You God for everything. Thank You for my Family and Best Friends. 🙏

I want to continue the "family therapy" my amazing Mom has worked throughout our family this year. She became very sick right before retiring. She recovered, retired and moved back home to her hometown (along with many of her siblings). Her wonderful humor, laughter and belief in God are infectuous. Everyone is replacing old grudges and bad attitudes with her upbeat attitude. It's amazing! This Thanksgiving is the celebration of the family values she is reacquainting us with. Love you Mom!

Being a single mom for so many years it was so important to me to start traditions. I wanted my kids to experience a holiday where we could all really be thankful for our family and all we have in each other and sharing. A part of all this was to make all the traditional Thanksgiving recipes, well not all but their top favorite recipes. I believe I did that and I hope to be able to do this for them for many years to come. Peace and love to you and your family!

I am a newlywed who recently discovered her love for cooking! Whether I'm cooking for my husband or entertaining, I thoroughly enjoy the cooking process. With that said however, hearing the "mmmmmmm's" and "This is so good!" is what makes me want to prepare fun and delicious meals all of the time! Winning Beth's Thanksgiving cooking tools would make life a little easier for this Newlywed with a small, but growing supply of cooking supplies! Thanks Beth and Kin Community!

I'd like to host Thanksgiving to say thank you to my parents, mostly. Especially mom for always cooking for us even she was extremely tired after work. She never complained, but always cooked with love and I think this year it's time I step up and cook for her during this holiday season! I think it's a small way to show my appreciation for so many years of taking care of the rest of us!

I am the youngest in my family with 2 brother and 2 sisters and being that my family and i are immigrants, we haven't had much exposure to "american" traditional food in our daily lives. well, i like to change that and for the first time i would like to cook them the traditional thanksgiving dinner. Having the entire family together for a meal is something i never take for granted and i think that is why folks love Thanksgiving so much, it's time spent with loved ones. thank you!!

I know this is an old video, but have to say that even when I've been hosting Thanksgiving for the last 34 years I picked up a few tips from you. Having guests asking how to help is stressing for me, opening wine, lighting the candles seems like the perfect excuse to get them out of the kitchen and making them feel helpful Thank you for a great video.

I wish I had the tools to host our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. My husband and I are in school from Monday morning to Thursday morning then work Thursday night to Sunday night. We're thankful for our families who support us going back to school, and when you're booked week after week, there's just not enough time to let them know how much you appreciate them. So I want to have them over since school is out and work is only open for a little while. We both enjoyed watching your video!

    For the giblets:
If you simply cook it, you can give it to your dog/cat with some brown rice. It's a really great treat! And the liver and heart are really healthy for your pet! Yet you should ask the vet beforehand if your pet is a bit sensitive

I've never hosted a thanksgiving meal, being from the UK, but I think its a great idea. Everyone has something to be thankful for, even in these trying times. I'd like to start a tradition and host a meal for my friends and family to show that I'm thankful for their support and friendship over the years and, really, just for their being alive.

I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year because now that I'm a freshman in college and I've learned a lot more about cooking (because I live on my own in an apartment) I feel like I can finally show my dad how thankful I am for everything he does for me. He really deserves a holiday where he can relax and eat a delicious meal without having to slave in the kitchen or worry about the price. Thank you for this video! Prize or not, my Thanksgiving will be wonderful because of it.

Hi Beth, I’m a college freshman. I’m homesick, and Thanksgiving will be the first time I’ve seen my family in months. I would love to make Thanksgiving dinner this year to show my family how much I appreciate their unwavering encouragement, support, and love. I can't think of a better way to show my thankfulness. The best memories I have of my family are at the dinner table, eating great food and laughing. This holiday season I want to take over my mom’s job of Thanksgiving head chef. Thanks :).

Well it may sound a little silly, but this year I've convinced my family to let me cook for Thanksgiving. My grandma usually cooks for Thanksgiving, but this year I really wanted to show my family that I CAN cook, and that my food is edible! So we've made a deal. Both my grandma and I will make two seperate Thanksgiving dinners, and we're going to have a contest to see whose food tastes better! I have an advantage over her though, because I know what she cooks every year! Goodluck to all! :)

There is nothing that I used to love more than cooking & entertaining, until last year when my 2 year old son was diagnosed with autism. For past 1 year I secluded myself from everyone...trying to find whats best for my kid. Few months ago, I discovered kin community and I was instantly hooked. Sply Beth's entertaining menus. she is so warm and comforting, I want to thank my family members for being my support system through my tough times. Hence my thanksgiving meal will be dedicated to them

This past year has been especially challenging for my family and I. We normally travel to be
with family for the holiday, but this year.. for many reasons, we will be staying home. Over the past few years, my inspiration has come from shows I would watch on cable tv, but to save money, we cut out cable (along with many other things) & I really miss it (sniff, sniff...)
Until I recently came apon your channel - I almost cried tears of joy! I am truely inspired again!

I always been over my aunt's house for the last 3 years for Thanksgiving and her food is always delicious. However, for this year i plan to change the mood up and making my family a nice decent meal for just the four of us to celebrate and give thanks for being born into this world (: I find this meal that you posted up is very delicate and elegant. So i decided to host Thanksgiving this year for our family using some of your recipes. (: Thank you for taking your time and share with us viewers!

I came to the US in 2008 & have attended Thanks Giving every year since.I was student then and I always wanted to host one on my own, being a student it was just not possible.I always used to tell my selves, that one day I'll get married, have a family, a job & can host a Thanks Giving Dinner.I am very glad that 2012 is the year that I got married, graduated, got a job & now it’s that time I have to host the dinner.I already tried your French party & was a huge hit.

Natalie Baker Actually, they are vegetarian. If you mean VEGAN, then that's a different story.

ThatOtherKid Vegetarianism is a diet that doesn't consume meat or other animal byproduct including bone shavings, they only consume dairy products from animals. Marshmallows contain gelatin which contains BONE MARROW - an animal product (which you must kill an animal in order to derive it). There are definitely vegan ones out there, but just because it doesn't have meat, doesn't mean it's vegan.

I made the candied yams this year. With this recipe, it came out way too bland. Sugar is a must. No one liked them.

I just started cooking last year as a stress relief from vet medicine school and was so excited to cook this Thanksgiving. This year I found that our traditional place to go to for Thanksgiving will be closing down. I have gone there my whole life and so sad that I won't be able to go my favorite place on my favorite holiday after this year. I want to make it the most memorable and best year yet! Winning this kit would be wonderful and a great way to celebrate with my family for our last time.

I am a newlywed who loves to cook. This will be the our first Thanksgiving as a married couple and my in laws are coming from out of town. My husband brags about my cooking to his family so I have to really bring my A game on that day. This starter kit and gift card would really help our first Thanksgiving be a success. Thank you very much.

    Hi Beth! Love your videos!
My reason to host Thanksgiving this year is for my grandmother. I'd like to make this Thanksgiving a memorable one for my grandma. She has been through a series of serious surgeries this year & at 85 years of age she has decided to give up. She doesn't want anymore cancer treatments nor any treatments whatsoever. She is a strong woman & we don't know how much longer she has therefore I would love to be able to give her the best Thanksgiving she has ever had.

BETH! Oh you wonderous human. We made this turkey and the gravy yesterday. It was just delightful, my husband said it was the best turkey he has ever had. I have to admit it was just stunning to eat and look at! Thank you for always coming through with an amazing recipe for our table. You, your mom, and your dad, have outdone yourselves. ❤❤❤

As the grandma that comes into town for celebrating holidays with my children and grandchildren it would be great to have this Thanksgiving starter kit to help in the ease of the preparation of this dinner this year as it is my turn to cook the dinner! I love this simple but elegant menu and will indeed give it a try this Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for sharing this menu and for your generosity to whomever for the starter kit and gift card! I love this channel! Happy Thanksgiving!

My family hasn't ever been especilly close, but I feel like this year we've really started to come together for the most part, and I feel like solidifying our coming together this thanksgiving is the best way to do it. So having a starter set for my first real family thanksgiving would be amazing. People can't find things to argue about when they're too busy eating good food!
