I want to continue the "family therapy" my amazing Mom has worked throughout our family this year. She became very sick right before retiring. She recovered, retired and moved back home to her hometown (along with many of her siblings). Her wonderful humor, laughter and belief in God are infectuous. Everyone is replacing old grudges and bad attitudes with her upbeat attitude. It's amazing! This Thanksgiving is the celebration of the family values she is reacquainting us with. Love you Mom!

Holding thanksgiving in my home this year is very exciting but very sad. 3 months ago my wife lost her mom (80 yrs old). This lady was so special to me , we would do all the cooking on the holidays together and she would teach me all her tricks and all the things that only a experienced cook would know. This is my first thanksgiving without her and she will be missed.

I was a stay at home mom for 10 years now.I was home raising my 4 year & 18 month old girls.I finally got back to work.I work from 7.30am-4.30pm, then I attend night school till 10pm.I had been almost out of touch with my mom, dad and siblings and my husband from his family due to our busy lives. So this year I want to surprise my husband by hosting a big family event on Thanksgiving as its his 40th bday. Our families had been a great support to me and my husband all through this tough journey.

I’m hosting this year since I have many things to be Thankful. I had back surgeries last year and it’s been hard on me as well as my family. I lost my job since I was not able to go back to work due to my illness, but that has not stop me from being great full to those who are still with me. And I’m walking with a cane and not a wheel chair or in bed rest. Also my Son came home from The Army to help. Thank You God for everything. Thank You for my Family and Best Friends. 🙏

I am a newlywed who recently discovered her love for cooking! Whether I'm cooking for my husband or entertaining, I thoroughly enjoy the cooking process. With that said however, hearing the "mmmmmmm's" and "This is so good!" is what makes me want to prepare fun and delicious meals all of the time! Winning Beth's Thanksgiving cooking tools would make life a little easier for this Newlywed with a small, but growing supply of cooking supplies! Thanks Beth and Kin Community!

Being a single mom for so many years it was so important to me to start traditions. I wanted my kids to experience a holiday where we could all really be thankful for our family and all we have in each other and sharing. A part of all this was to make all the traditional Thanksgiving recipes, well not all but their top favorite recipes. I believe I did that and I hope to be able to do this for them for many years to come. Peace and love to you and your family!

Hi Beth, I’m a college freshman. I’m homesick, and Thanksgiving will be the first time I’ve seen my family in months. I would love to make Thanksgiving dinner this year to show my family how much I appreciate their unwavering encouragement, support, and love. I can't think of a better way to show my thankfulness. The best memories I have of my family are at the dinner table, eating great food and laughing. This holiday season I want to take over my mom’s job of Thanksgiving head chef. Thanks :).

There is nothing that I used to love more than cooking & entertaining, until last year when my 2 year old son was diagnosed with autism. For past 1 year I secluded myself from everyone...trying to find whats best for my kid. Few months ago, I discovered kin community and I was instantly hooked. Sply Beth's entertaining menus. she is so warm and comforting, I want to thank my family members for being my support system through my tough times. Hence my thanksgiving meal will be dedicated to them

I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year because now that I'm a freshman in college and I've learned a lot more about cooking (because I live on my own in an apartment) I feel like I can finally show my dad how thankful I am for everything he does for me. He really deserves a holiday where he can relax and eat a delicious meal without having to slave in the kitchen or worry about the price. Thank you for this video! Prize or not, my Thanksgiving will be wonderful because of it.

    For the giblets:
If you simply cook it, you can give it to your dog/cat with some brown rice. It's a really great treat! And the liver and heart are really healthy for your pet! Yet you should ask the vet beforehand if your pet is a bit sensitive

I wish I had the tools to host our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. My husband and I are in school from Monday morning to Thursday morning then work Thursday night to Sunday night. We're thankful for our families who support us going back to school, and when you're booked week after week, there's just not enough time to let them know how much you appreciate them. So I want to have them over since school is out and work is only open for a little while. We both enjoyed watching your video!

This year will be my first thanksgiving in my first home of my own. In recent years my family has been too busy with college, work, kids, divorces, and life to have time to get together. This year we are making time for family! Getting this starter kit will make it a lot easier on me to make it happen. Having good food will help us forget about our problems for a while and focus on relaxing with family.

Well it may sound a little silly, but this year I've convinced my family to let me cook for Thanksgiving. My grandma usually cooks for Thanksgiving, but this year I really wanted to show my family that I CAN cook, and that my food is edible! So we've made a deal. Both my grandma and I will make two seperate Thanksgiving dinners, and we're going to have a contest to see whose food tastes better! I have an advantage over her though, because I know what she cooks every year! Goodluck to all! :)

I'd love to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for the two most important people in my life, my wonderful mother and father! They're both at work from 9 am until 11 pm, 7 days a week, and for the last 10 years have missed Thanksgiving at home. They get a premade "meal" at work, and I asked them both to take the day off this year so that we can finally spend it together. It's my way of saying thank you for all of their support, and to just give them a day to relax and eat something delicious!

Last year around October, my aunt passed away because of cancer. She was the one who hosted Thanksgiving at her house all the time, and she was such a joy to be around. After her death, my relatives and my family kind of split apart -- we don't celebrate together as much anymore. I can never replace my aunt, but I want to remind my family that we're still here for each other. I don't cook, but with your help Beth, I think I can do it. Thank you for and KIN so much! xo

My reason to host Thanksgiving this year is for my grandmother. I'd like to make this Thanksgiving a memorable one for my grandma. She has been through a series of serious surgeries this year & at 85 years of age she has decided to give up. She doesn't want anymore cancer treatments nor any treatments whatsoever. She is a strong woman & we don't know how much longer she has therefore I would love to be able to give her the best Thanksgiving she has ever had.

For most of my life, it's just been me, my mother, my father and my fathers adoptive family. We don't see them, because they live on the other side of the country, so it's usually just our little family and my god family. This year has been amazing. After living his whole life thinking he was given up, my father found his family. We are rushing over to meet them and get to know them as quickly as possible, and it would be amazing to share Thanksgiving dinner with the family we finally found.

She was the main chef in our family and even though my pops gives it his best effort, it's just not the same. It would be so nice to host a family dinner trying out some of your great recipes paired with some of my mom's go-to dishes and bring my family back to the table, where we have so many fond memories of her. I know she would be so proud of me :)

The marshmallows on the sweet potato would not count as vegetarian, since they contain gelatin

You can make your own (vegetarian, obviously) marshmallows. Or buy them vegan/vegetarian! I've found a packet of these in my vegan friend's kitchen.

I would love to host my first thanksgiving because I have always had such a troubled time with my own family, but now I have finally found a loving family with my friends and they have truly saved my life. Nothing on this Earth would mean more to me than showing them how much I love and appreciate them by giving them all what I wished I could have had growing up.

I'd love to host Thanksgiving this year (for the first time!) mainly for my mom. She has faced a year of challenges- from breast cancer to a family member's close-call car accident to financial troubles, and now she faces the hardship of caring for an ailing parent. I'd love to host Thanksgiving not only to give her a chance to relax, but to show her just how appreciative I am that she has been there for me (and my entire family) every day, no matter what.

ThatOtherKid Vegetarianism is a diet that doesn't consume meat or other animal byproduct including bone shavings, they only consume dairy products from animals. Marshmallows contain gelatin which contains BONE MARROW - an animal product (which you must kill an animal in order to derive it). There are definitely vegan ones out there, but just because it doesn't have meat, doesn't mean it's vegan.

I made the candied yams this year. With this recipe, it came out way too bland. Sugar is a must. No one liked them.

This past year has been especially challenging for my family and I. We normally travel to be
with family for the holiday, but this year.. for many reasons, we will be staying home. Over the past few years, my inspiration has come from shows I would watch on cable tv, but to save money, we cut out cable (along with many other things) & I really miss it (sniff, sniff...)
Until I recently came apon your channel - I almost cried tears of joy! I am truely inspired again!
    Thank you, thank you!!

My family hasn't ever been especilly close, but I feel like this year we've really started to come together for the most part, and I feel like solidifying our coming together this thanksgiving is the best way to do it. So having a starter set for my first real family thanksgiving would be amazing. People can't find things to argue about when they're too busy eating good food!

I have never done a Thanksgiving dinner before,my family has been through so much this year and so many dark times. I wanted to take this time and get them all together for this special occasion. It would be great to have all of us together saying thanks for the great things we still have. However, I am a college student and this starter kit and gift card would help me a lot. Thanks for the opportunity and happy holiday to you and your family, watching your cooking always brings me so much joy.

Thank you very much.

I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year because with my grandfather now gone, my family appreciates each other now more than ever. Since we live all across the country, we never know when it'll be the last time we'll spend a holiday together. So I'm making it my mission to make this Thanksgiving the best ever! :)

The past 3 months have been months of New Beginnings. I recently made an impromptu move from NY to Texas with my daughter, to find work after being unemployed for 2 years, Not easy but it finally feels like the tides are changing. I've never been one to host ANY family events & would love to show my family the changes. Nothing would say that more than me cooking a whole Thanksgiving meal. Utter shock! It would also be a thank you for their constant support & make it feel more like home for us.

This is the first Thanksgiving In our new home. My husband and I were married 3 years ago. We have not be able to gather at our place before, because we lived in a small one bedroom apartment. This year on Thanksgiving my husband’s children and grandchildren will join us for the best Thanksgiving ever. We will be Thankful for the so many blessings that God has given us. We cooked a turkey twice before, this is the 3 time, but I had never cooked prior to this. I learned how to cook the turkey by looking at RUclips, but your is the best video I looked at. I was a bit concerned if everything would come out good, since I’m cooking for our family for the first time. The kit would make everything so much easier just Like you said. Thank you for your video, I’m so much more confident now after watching it. I know it’s going to be delicious. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your. Most importantly, don’t forget to give thanks for all of the many blessings God has given you. God bless, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
*Question, why is can yam better the roasted fresh yam?

I just started cooking last year as a stress relief from vet medicine school and was so excited to cook this Thanksgiving. This year I found that our traditional place to go to for Thanksgiving will be closing down. I have gone there my whole life and so sad that I won't be able to go my favorite place on my favorite holiday after this year. I want to make it the most memorable and best year yet! Winning this kit would be wonderful and a great way to celebrate with my family for our last time.

I would love to host thanksgiving this year, because I come from a family of 10. We have never really had a traditional thanksgiving, just a humble Asian Styled dinner. It would be nice for me to really get in the kitchen and do what I love - which is to cook. I would love to allow my family to come together and celebrate a wonderful holiday. We may not have much, but I'd like to show them what I'm thankful for. Cooking allows me to bring people together, and show my appreciation for them.

Thank you for inspiring me and giving me the courage to cook this year and to host thanksgiving at my house.

I'd like to host Thanksgiving to say thank you to my parents, mostly. Especially mom for always cooking for us even she was extremely tired after work. She never complained, but always cooked with love and I think this year it's time I step up and cook for her during this holiday season! I think it's a small way to show my appreciation for so many years of taking care of the rest of us!

I am a college student going to a culinary school. I've always helped out when it came to Thanksgiving. My family has never fully gathered on Thanksgiving until this year. This year all my aunts, uncles and cousins will be attending. I'm uber excited. Since I am on my 2 quarter of school I took the challenge on making Thanksgiving dinner, with some help from my cousins, mom and aunt of course. I'm the one that usually helps them but not this year. I hope this will be a great Thanksgiving. Thanks

Since I came to the states to study for my degree in 2007, my advisor and his wife have been inviting me to their Thanksgiving dinner every year. It's not homemade Thanksgiving dinner though (they don't have a child, who would cook turkey for two people!?), I've been enjoying spending time with them every Thanksgiving! I won't cook ever even if I win the kit, so I don't care about the prize. But I want you to know how awesome my advisor and his wife are! I am grateful for knowing them!

Having the entire family together for a meal is something i never take for granted and i think that is why folks love Thanksgiving so much, it's time spent with loved ones. thank you!!

Since my family and I moved from Korea when I was 6 years old, my momdoes not know much about western cuisine. I love taking the initiative to bring bring different types of meals onto the dinner table whenever I can. I want to host my family's thanksgiving dinner this year because we usually end up going to a family friend's house for dinner. However, I want to make this year extra special because I want a more intimate thanksgiving dinner for my sister who's coming home from college.
