I knew of Kripp from D3 launch almost 20 years ago but didn’t watch much because I stopped playing games after D3.
Now that I listened to how he introduced these classes to us, I realized how good of an ARPG player and content creator he is. This video is packed with information summarized in a very clear manner, and done with a lot of passion. You can tell he truly enjoys discovering and playing this game just from the way he talks. This video earned my full respect for Kripp. I look forward to seeing more Last Epoch content from you, Kripp! Great job!
For real dude, I'm 41 now (ugh) and when D3 launched I learned of Kripp and Pox (from POE). Wild to see him, looking like I do (grey hairs!) still doing what he loves and being passionate about games.
Kripp, i am glad you enjoy Last Epoch. If you see this comment though, i see a lot of people on your LE videos asking for you to add gameplay to your build guides and I agree. With them.
The newest classes (Runemaster, Warlock, Falconer) are so interesting and unique. They've really stepped up their game with the class design. Can't wait to see the new masteries or even classes they add in the future.
They also planned (if they stick to it) to revisit old classes, like sentinels and primalist. Can't wait for it.

@@AnuwielPrimalist, Shaman was my first pick. While I sort of enjoyed it, playing other classes and then going back to my Shaman feels like a night and day difference.
Haven't played Sentinel yet but I'm excited to see what may get done with Primalist.

The builds in LE are amazing
I don't know, it's a mixed bag for me. On one hand there are a lot of possible builds, on the other they feel very limited in how you can customize them. It's a bit like a little more complex Diablo 3.
@@wurzelbert84wucher5not in my experience. My void knight differs greatly from other builds ive seen. My alt is a swarmblade primalist, which focuses on storm synergies, which can just as easily be respecced into a powerful bleed build, a permafreeze aoe version, or a dodge heavy poison variant. Thats 4 completely different valid builds that are focused on different range, aoe vs single target, physical vs spell dmg and play very differently when it comes to movement and management.
@@cirescythe Void knight seems to be well designed. My Falconer is really straight forward and there are two very obvious builds with very minor customization.
He didn't have the single point in the crit multiplier skill in vk 😮
@@wurzelbert84wucher5 well vk has alot of build and every build works completely differently, for example I make a Rive&healinghands whit str build whit bleed axe whit bleed convert to ingite mechanic to stuck lots of ignite work good for me . Every build uses diffrent stuff:/
The axe is for applying bleed and extra void dmg plus to raise chance from helm affix chance to bleed on hit whit axes and ignite on neck and weapon +ignite from rive skill tree +ignite chance from Pala tree 💁♂️
I actually love how Paladin can be played thematically, he doesn't have to heal, just apply the aura. I literally became lightning god throwing hundreds of thunders from the sky, anywhere in sight. You can throw javelin? You can change it to lightning. Then you can make it apply electrify - damage over time ailment just like burning. Also all your bleed and ingite chance becomes electify chance*. With one click you throw 5 lightnings, each of them applies electrify, each of them can cast random smite nearby, no need to have it on 5 skill bar. Whole screen is covered in lightning strikes, if something doesn't die instantly, it gets 100-200 stacks of electrify, bosses love that. Feels like some Dark Souls Dragonslayer, but on steroids - Praise the sun. \[T]/

Love to see Kripp being so genuinely excited about LE. This game has such a strong foundation to build upon. Also, D4 bad.

Been having a great time with echo warpath VK. A mostly one button spec that fits my monkey brain playstyle.
This game is awesome in all the different mechanics feeling unique and impactful.
As a Hunter; I played Falconer and it was the chill, long-range experience I was expecting (even if I had remarkably bad luck in the gear and my Falcon out-damaged me for most of the middle run, the crafting system is so good that I overcame luck).
Then I played Spellblade which was completely the opposite and I have done dirty things with that.
Then I played Druid and once again, it's different because you do so many things with it.
It's a strange, good feeling when playing a new class, I find myself thinking "Oh, this is broken" and it happens a lot in this game.
I've been playing Runemaster and it has been the most fun I've had with an ARPG class.
Runemaster is crazy. All 3 mage specs is very good.

I just hit 100 on my RM. Breezing through Corruption 300+ (didn't have time to push higher yet, still farming for items). Some runemaster build is so conplicated to play, I don't even dare to try it. Some are 1 button, but the mechanics to get there are very in-depth.
Ghe design of the classes is insanely good.
The amount of options Runic Invocation gives is just insane. Also the hardest part of the class. You have to pay attention and concentrate all the time on what runes you build up. Every spell cast matters and can fuck up making you useless. Setting up automatic rune generating is such a relief. I'm pretty sure there are only a few people who can play it decent enough to even use multiple Invocations in the right time to utilise the insane kit of Runemaster.
The class can become so complicated sometimes, it scares me xd
I'm so stoked that you are enjoying LE! I am so happy that many more content creators with credentials, (Kripp S Tier Creds), are getting a good look under the hood of this gem and singing its praises. It will be fun to see where EHG takes this exceptionally well built ARPG!
Turns out Last Epoch is pretty good
The void knight was the third character I've built in Early Access. And I fucking loved it! It's still my favorite class. It literally wrecks the battlefield!
Totally feeling how each class feels so different. I've leveled 3 characters so far and each time its felt like a new game almost. really fun actually lvling in this game, probably its strongest trait atm. To know you can build something that is unique just for you is very compelling. D4 for example you just feel ur one in a million barbs with the same build for example.

Volatile Reversal is easily one of the most creative skills I've ever used in an ARPG

Your guides are always great and I have fun with the builds in LE. For the first time ARPG history I haven't had an issue finding a fun and good build to play - it's been more of what build is less fun and not necessarily bad! kkkkkkkkkk eita! And that's great! It means there are options for so many different playstyles and letting players enjoy their own class fantasy!

My main is a Squirrel Beastmaster and it is insanely fun. I didn't think I'd enjoy the game as much as I have. It was fun and interesting leveling up, but once I got the squirrel helm it takes the game to a different level.

The Runemaster's call to fame is that you can combine your 3 elements into 39 different skills, so there are a LOT of options there.

Fantastic video. I'm loving LE as well. The one thing that surprised me (as someone who supported them early on) is how much better the game got EVERY TIME I came back to check it out. The devs seem passionate about ARPG's and (unlike D4) actually know what they are doing. I continue to find new things and have so much fun playing the game.

You can also use the Forge knight that deals damage based on your shields block chance etc. It's pretty crazy in the many different ways you can play each class.

Every class Kripp builds: strongest class in the game. I think that shows how balanced and good LE really is.

Sure every clas has options to be good, but also a lot of bad and janky picks
And Warlock is confirmed to be overtuned because of a typo and clearly smashing the leaderboards
@@knavenformed9436 that's true, but the foundations are very solid, I'm sure with some fine tuning these problems will be solved
@@knavenformed9436it is very balanced. Using an outlier in warlock as an example for it not being balanced due to a bug is null. Also using an example of there being “bad” or “janky” picks as a reason for it barely being balanced is unrealistic given that every single ability and pick in the game can’t be 100% on par with each other. The point is though, that every class and mastery can perform roughly the same. There are always going to be outliers, and that is why we have balance patches.
Realistically, this games balance is very well done for a 1.0 release without any major balance patches thus far.

I loved how in the first interview i saw with Kripp where someone asked him if he'd be trying LE, and he was like yeah i'll give it a go for like an hour or so. Then the next few streams he did after his first try he was putting in like 3 -5 hours longer than he'd normally stream just to play LE longer. I like how he gets just how in depth LE can be if you want it to, you can absolutely min-max down to the smallest detail, or you can just hurr durr play through if that's your preference.
I think that was the only thing about Asmon's "review" of the game he just didn't get, while he said he really enjoyed playing it he didn't think it was that deep. Not once did we see him in a planner working out his class, or really crafting he just D4 brained his way in the game.
I am always looking forward to playing the next spec. This game has me HOOKED!
In addition to the more interesting gearing; Void Cleave -> Erasing Strike build just feels SOOOOOO good. That huge cleave slice, followed by a huge crush effect. Lunge from pack to pack and give em the 1-2 punch.

The newbie video I was waiting for.
It's honestly insane that even builds within the same actual subclass can be so drastically different. Heck Forge Guard alone has 5 totally different build that I know of, and that's likely the most rigid class with the least amount of uniques.
My main is now actually a lightning bear that clears monos just by walking at brisk pace and raining like 16 lighting bolts per second (6 of which are concentrated near the werebear and the others hit random mobs all around the screen) - as you can guess, that build is half autocast bomber, half melee fighter. Now I'm trying another form of werebear build - this time Ice bear (which is purely melee cold brawler build)... but since Ice Bear only really gets the needed items at some high 60s, right now it's a physical werebear, which is, you guessed it, yet another variant.
And that's STILL not even all the bear builds. You have a bleed bear and frostbite bear as DoT bears, then you got the true shapeshifter (which uses other druid forms as well and shifts between them at intervals, and that's not even going into pure Spriggan or pure Swarmblade builds.
It's honestly insane.
I'd say every subclass has at least 4 viable builds, and some even drastically more. Ofc, basically anyone with 2 brain cells can make a build in last epoch to run campaign with (e.g. Asmongold breezing through the entire campaign purposefully not using a single ability as it should be used or scaled as it should've been scaled), but every build does differently in the higher corruption levels. Or different content. Like Lighting Bear is amazing at trash clear but pretty average to bad on bosses. Manifest Armor forge guard is great at bossing but struggles with high mob density monos. Etc
God I’m having so much fun with this game. Each mastery feels fun and I keep wanting to build them all
Allie has a wonderful falconer build that uses 'gain ward per a shadow created' and its a banger.
I know it's preaching to the choir, but Volatile Reversal really sold me on the game. The same skill can be used for debuffing, movement and resource recovery - sometimes all of them at once - depending on how and when you apply it. Really clever and top notch game design.
I like to see Kripp geeking out like a little kid
LE has a foundation here that is amazing. Even if they did nothing else, EHG should be very happy with their product. Remember....all of this creativity in...a $35 game by < 30 people. It's just so much fun.
D4 has a good foundation I've been told, hundreds of times lol.

Warlock so far is my favorite. I dont use the broken skill for huge amounts of ward but I do use the golem to keep aggro while I melt things with Void bolts. Super fun deleting mobs this way.
Idk about other base classes but the Sentinel's Rive/Healing Hands build, a strong tanky build, work well with all 3 Masteries. Its primary Pally build but VK and FG can add more atk speed, added damage, damage reduction, crit bonuses, and echos/minions. You do lose out on movement speed, clense, autorevive, frenzy, and some heal increase.
If you've ever played DOTA2, The runemaster is basically Invoker. Different spell types create a combo of runes (3) which can unleash certain spells. Very fun!

The build diversity is amazing. I made a bleed warlock and a spellblade. Both are melting in 400 corruption but I wanna try more builds. The squirrel beast master is my next build. To be honest I don’t think there is a mastery you can’t have fun with.

I wanted to make a character called Wildsoul from Heroes of Newerth inside of last epoch. Bear man with bear pet basically. Last epoch facilitated this fantasy basically perfectly.
I know what class I'm rolling next.
I'm looking forward to playing Void Knight as well. So far the Runemaster has been the most unique, because it's basically like the Invoker from Dota2. You cast different combinations of your other skills and get a powerful combo finisher of sorts.
That means you have to pay a lot of attention to what you're doing and you get a way larger set of attacks than all other classes.
Personally I would have liked it to be a bit more like Magicka, where you can quickly tap to get the combination you want before firing, but beggars can't be choosers.
i've been having a blast with LE so far, i'm going 1 class at a time and leveling each subclass to low tier empowered monoliths, so far paladin and void knight up to 90 and 85 respectively and it's great. i'll push the void knight a bit more and then making the 3rd sentinal Forge Guard, which i have absolutely no idea what's in store for me with that class, i expect soemthing really tanky but we'll see. After sentinal ill probably give rogue a try and play those 3.

Imagine if Last Epoch was a triple A studio, with access to the latest graphical tech and high budget on cinematics. This game would be the best ARPG for sure no contest. The ideas that they have on skills, systems like built in loot filters, itemization are just perfect.
I think it's a good thing they are a smaller studio. Look at this game, look at Helldivers, Battlebit, etc. These smaller game studios are making banger after banger. While AAA studios make poo games because they are monitored by investors that want to get their investment back. They are not allowed to take risks. Look at "ActiBlizz" and World of Warcraft. It's been on a downward spiral for years now. And now when they are finally free from Activision, and are allowed by Microsoft to do their thing, they are slowly starting to come back. Look at Season of Discovery, a spinoff of Classic WoW. It's a huge success. Why? Because they take risks, and try new things. And communicate with their players, just like EHG does.
I'm glad they arent some AAA studio, it wouldn't be what it is, if they were.
I completely understand your point but I had to agree with this guy above. I think being a smaller company give them the freedom to make decision driven purely by enjoyability.
As much as I dislike the current D4, I actually think it’s not entirely the devs fault, because they don’t always have the power to make independent decisions given the size of the company and the fact that it’s completely revenue driven.
If EHG were a huge company with much more resources, they likely acquired those resource from multiple places, in a way losing the freedom of independent design choice.
Not only that, for example (Diablo 4) Blizzard under Activision which then under Microsoft means that they need to price up to satisfy the corporate ladder. Probably the reason why it costs twice as much for the base game compares to L.E and a mount that costs as much as the game itself.
The larger the company the greedier they are.
i think LE drew a lot of inspiration from Lost Ark regarding class and subclass diversity and independence.

Switched from AutoBomber to Echo Warpath. Shades are much easier to deal with. Pushing 400. Void Knight is one of the most unique classes that I've ever played in any game. Love the game and I'm glad Kripp enjoys it, that will mean great content for us.

Man, I looked through all the HS videos to find the LE videos. I don't know how he still finds the motivation to still crank out so many HS videos. But it's nice to see how much fun he has, I've also really been enjoying LE. Life is getting too busy to still enjoy PoE and LE fixes so many of the things I find annoying about PoE.
Does the builder auto populate or you need to fill in every affix, skill, and passive?
Its truly a fantastic ARPG. Been playing since early closed beta a few years ago. I think not even half the subclasses were done at that point. It's come a long way, but sadly the endgame is a bit lacking. I'm sure they will sort that out in the next big update. But for the time being, I'm having a bunch of fun with trying out new builds just like you are doing now. I'm not the kind of guy that makes my own PoE builds, it's too complicated for me. But with LE being so forgiving when it comes to respec and trying out new things, I can by trial and error figure out a decent build that clears 500+ corruption.
One thing I found in 0.9 patch which I thought was so cool, was the paladin. I used hammer throw for leveling, and that's decent. You can make the hammers faster, make them spread out more, make them orbit around you, bunch of things. But Paladin also has Smite, and Smite does big damage. I found some large idols that gave my hammer throw a certain % chance of proccing Smite on hit. I could fit 4 of those idols, and they had 10-20% chance of proccing, or so. So i dumped all my stats and damage modifiers into making Smite strong as hell, and even found a unique sceptre i think it was, that made me do % more damage based on missing mana, and it also drained my mana slowly to 0% before regening back to full. And hammer throw has a talent where you can throw it whilst being out of mana. So you could essentially just gather mobs, let mana drain from the unique, while you pop a few buffs and drain mana some more, and when its down to sub 10% mana, you spam your hammers and it would just oneshot everything on screen. Even bosses died in seconds.
For me this was very cool to figure out. Pretty basic stuff, but it gave me so much joy to figure this out by myself, without any buildguide or anything. I had a blast. And I'm currently going through some new (to me) subclasses with some ideas in mind.
I just think this game is fantastic for this specific reason. I've gotten my moneys worth before the game even released into 1.0. EHG really nailed class fantasy and diversity in this game.

Runemaster having 40 abilities in a single skill button but atthe same time being able to create different builds around them is quite amazing at showing last epoch's class design, you could use one out of the 40 or try to cycle through all 40 of them without repeating a previously used one, although that might give you an aneurysm but the point still stands.

Hearing this makes me miss Marvel Heroes even more, the character and build variety in that was amazing. Sure it had no end-game and the licensing was always going to be problematic, but the code game and class mechanics design was top-tier.

but I can do more damage when enemies are close on Thursday between 9:05am and 9:09am!

Having a tough time deciding if I want to play a sword & board Paladin or a two-handed Void Knight. So you would recommend the void Knight as a good class? Thanks. My first class was a Shaman (Level 71) and I'm no expert but the class felt very weak to me so I think with my limited skill I should reroll a heavy armor class.
