    Mate I'm with you 100% on the mining and same with logging. It is horrid to see and to think what it does to the natural environment but we know it is something that is necessary. Love the little Beardie, sucks about the camp you wanted to show us. Just kicking back at camp doing absolutely F.A but taking in the peacefulness is the way to go. It is nice to explore and do walks but for relaxing nothing beats that.

    The spot you stopped at the 6 min mark is one of my personal favourite little camping spots. I've been going out there for years and years, just gotta be careful in winter like you said haha. I also agree with your opinions on the mining industry around the area too, It's good for the economy but they're really starting to take the piss as of recently. I grew up in Boddington and i'm starting to get more angry with the situation, seeing how much of my childhood stomping grounds are being closed off and stripped out.

    😂😂 The level made me laugh out loud! When I park the lorry (truck) I sit a bottle of water on the dash to get it level 😂🤣😂 I’ve been known to drive around the parking area, (just park Mom! my son used to say when he’d come with me when he was young) trying to find the right spot 😂🤣 Nope! nope! nope!………if I just get that wheel up a bit……..1/2 hour later…….that’ll do 😂🤣
    Can’t sleep with my head down hill and sleeping with my head the other end of the bed confuses the hell out of me in the night & when I wake up 😂🤣😂🤣

    How bad are the flies in WA this season ?!! They are crazy persistent little bastards! I just came back from a weekend up in Sandy Cape, and the only reason it was devoid of flies, is because the wind was an almost constant 35 kph minimum, gusting to 45. Windyest camps I've ever been on ! Great Video btw, and I share you sentiments completely when it comes to Alcoa down there raping the bushland. They will never get it back eactly to how it was before it.

      All mining companies have an obligation to rehabilitate their mines. If have ever worked in the industry, you will see that they actually don’t do a bad job of it. While it may not look the same way instantly, it will over time. Remember, all those trees you see out there were small seedlings once too! People are quite happy to bag out mining companies, yet they still use all the down stream products they produce. From the car you drive to your camping spot, to the roof top tent you sleep in, to the all the things you use to cook your food, to the device you use to watch this legend go about his adventures. Don’t believe everything you hear in MSM. Matt - you are an absolute legend. I had the pleasure of bumping into while doing a bit of shopping. For someone to take 10mins out of their day to chat to a stranger rates high in my book. Keep the adventures coming legend, love your work!

    • @destnations5588
      @destnations5588 Год назад

      I worked in the mining sector in the first half of my life, and I am still mates with people that are assigned to plan the rehab of sites, and even they admit off the books, that the places they rehab are never the same, certain fauna still haven't returned to sites from before the mine started clearing forest, 25 yrs on. So if Rehab is to return the topsoil and revegetate the area, while crossing their fingers that displaced species of birds and mammals " may " return to the area, then it isn't worth a spit if the place looks mostly the same. It clearly isn't the same as it was before. My rant is over, Sorry Matt, for the long reply to this comment, I'll shut my mouth now. @@thatsrite4918

    • @thatsrite4918
      @thatsrite4918 Год назад

      @@destnations5588but you still drive, use a tent, cook etc which come from mining. I’m not so sure the land your house is built on looks the same as it was before it was cleared and the animals are still there. Not to mention all the stuff in your house. More chance of a mine being rehabbed I would think. Any way, I’m not trying to go tit for tat. Just have think about what you use and enjoy before you rag out on mining. Peace out

    Shutting down Hoffman Mill is really disgusting. There is no excuse for that. Odds are that it will never re-open now because that is what seems to happen when they shut people out. Goorolong Park got shut down 'temporarily' and never re-opened. I'm sort of amazed that they haven't shut down free camping at Logue Brook, I think they were trying to close it down at one time.
