UFO is a great band..period. the music with Schenker and Chapman it's unbelievable..the amount of great yes GREAT songs that came out thru out the years..omg!!!! Yes all of you guys are great fans because you all love.. UFO!!!!
Quality hard rock band. What a smooth voice Phil Mogg has. These boys massively influenced what was to emerge as metal, especially in the NWOBHM but not really given the credit for their trailblazing contribution.,
It's a little disapointing how divided so called UFO fans are regarding the guitar players that have been in this band. I am a HUGE Michael Schenker fan, one of the best of alltime. No one on earth can fill Michaels shoe's. But I tip my hat to Paul Champman and the contribution he made to this band. They were still making great albums during his run. Thanks Paul!
I disagree, after Schenker left they were making good albums, but not great. The closest they came to a great album was The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent, but that was brought down by a couple of duds.

My hats off too all the lads! God bless them for still rocking me into my 56th year on this world. I must add the stRangers in the night drummer is the sound for me.big, rock solid sound.Merry Christmas y’all.
Just recently discovered this late 70's-early 80's period of UFO and love it! In many ways it seems as though they really perfected their soind in this era. Greet to hear and watch well written rock n' roll music performed well by musicians like this.
Hard to believe three of these gentlemen are no longer with us. RIP, Paul, Pete and Paul...we miss all of you! Only Phil, the singer, and Andy, the drummer, remain...
Tonka has his own style and just like Schenker, didn't want to copy a song note for note if it wasn't his creation. Nice Marshall sound, and filled the shoes needed to keep UFO in the studio and on tour.

Eddie money was Great that way. The songs you loved on radio, were before you live. Toto as well, but to see a band that large play together so flawlessly, is beautiful. " UFO cherry, Live @ the Coliseum" Best I've seen yet.....Can't match those vocals, my overall Fave. Lol #1 Led Zeppelin #2 UFO #3 #2 🎵🎶🎵🎶❤️
I remember going to see them at Hammersmith on the Strangers in the Night tour, and no one was sure if Schenker was going to walk out on stage or not. There was a physical sense of disappointment when he didn't, but by the end of the night, Tonka had one them over, A great player in his own right. Sadly fighting his own demons, but hugely underrated.
I never got to see ufo until 1983 your right about tonka Chapman he was very underrated but they still managed to do some great albums even after schemer.

UFO in my opinion are the best rock band in the world I first saw them back in 1975 and have seen them 12 times since I have ever album all the different line ups were excellent even the lesser known ones on albums like Misdemeanor and High stakes and Dangerous men they deserve with their excellent catalog of hard rock classics to be ranked with bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath and as Phil Mogg would say to all UFO fans Keep On Rockin.
Just a shame, the bass player trousers, hair and stuff's making it looks like Spinal Tap lol But,that was it...Where the hell's the great and so unique Michael Schenker? Just like Edward Van Halen, their clothes, guitars, guitar skills were never looked dodgy and hilarious, unlike so many...Hi from France :)
@@markullyett No dickhead, you do your fucking research, neither Schenker or Mogg have ever said anything like what you claim. In fact Schenker left not only because Mogg hit him, but also because Mogg was a control freak, and a drunken bully, and he was tired of his bullshit. There weren't any big problems between Schenker and Mogg, until Schenker began to understand English better, and understood the kinds of things Mogg was saying, then Schenker told him to fuck off.
" Walk on Water " was the last tour that I saw the band with its original members and they ROCKED the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano that night !!!!! Got to meet the band afterwards and get all there autographs ....... thanks ~UFO~
@Ilton White Splitting hairs aren't you? That's like saying Gillan & Glover weren't original members of Purple. While a significant minority will cite Evans and Simper as "original" members of Purple, and Bolton as an "original" member of UFO (and in both cases technically correct), by far and away the vast majority will cite Mk2 Purple as being the "original" band and in a similar way (no pun intended) the 70's Schenker years as being the "original" UFO line-up. When one is playing the Force It album or Obsession at full blast who cares about the previous incarnation which in the overall scheme of things turned out to be a pre-cursor to the main show, same goes for when In Rock and Machine Head are blasted at full pelt, who cares about the pre-cursor to the main show that in effect was the Evans and Simper non-event. For me huge credit also goes to "Tonka" Chapman, the run of studio albums with him is up there too. And WOW and Covenant also colossal. Sharks competent but seems to lack a spark for me and 'dark' production, then YAH crunchy & crispy production but personally not keen on the albums with Moore, especially those after YAH and I personally rate Bolton ahead of Moore but the albums from 74' onwards I feel eclipse those before.
Andy Parker's drum sound is massive...that Ludwig snare cuts through like a shot gun...LOVE IT. Chapman sounds better on record than live unlike Schenker who kills on both
Deja vu. Like the first time I saw UFO in concert. I looked for Micheal shenker and saw Paul Chapman. Why the hate? Paul Chapman did a great job with UFO.
Not sure why all the hate on Paul Chapman. I’m a big Schenker fan, but my fave UFO albums were all of the ones that Chapman played on. Just as Schenker kicked ass on the albums he was on, Paul Chapman kicked ass that he was on. Didn’t like any of the Vinnie Moore albums. He doesn’t fit the band,IMO.
@@irvan36mm Hold on there..have you heard the song Baby Blue? Vinnie did the guitar..what a f...n great song..yeah he fits..as did all of the great guitar players who played...
@@irvan36mm He's the best guitarist they had. Not only does he improve the Schenker solos he brings his own virtuosity to UFO. He's also reliable, unlike MS.
Paul "Tonka" Chapman was a very tasteful lead guitarist!!!! Yeah I know he wasn't Michael Schenker, but he had some chops and he was melodic and had an old school feel to playing solos meaning play for the song with feeling and heart and less technical and flash🙂!!!! I 🤔 think Paul Chapman had more of a blues like feel in his guitar playing kind of like Angus Young of AC/DC!!!! RIP Paul!!!! Will miss ya! I loved his guitar playing on the "No Place To Run" album!!! Brilliant performance!!!! Plus! He played on a Waysted record "Save Your Prayers" with Pete Way in 1987!!!!!👍👍👍👍🙂😃😀😊😄
UFO had so many great songs songs throughout the years.. Not to take away the brilliance of Michael Schenker, who left and did his own thing with MSG. But the show had to go on.
Do not understand why these guys weren't more popular. In my top 5 list. I am in Canada and you never hear a UFO song on any classic rock station. I just don't get it. So f'n good!!!
KILLER..... Thanks for posting all of this..Schenker lover& UFO fanatic....very much appreciate the Chapman commitment to the force.....of UFO! Great set of live stuff..thanks for posting.
luv the 9:40 mk and the next couple of minutes - it's so cool to hear all these classic Gibson guitar's- Firebird 6 string/ Firebird bass & vintage SG Jr. on the same stage ~!
That was by far the best version of Too Hot To Handle I had ever heard. I always thought the song was on the light weight side, but man did they ever kick it up and rocked it!
+Mark Ullyett What Mark? Did you think that was a 29 plus minute version of Doctor Doctor? If you listen to it, there is like 4-5 songs. One of them is on it twice. I didn't go back and relisten to it all. Now go to the last song on this. It is the best version of???? Too Hot to Handle and the heaviest version of it. Thank you. Mark, check it out. It is great.
Sorry Thomas, but that is in no way the best version of Too Hot To Handle, not even close. The original album version is better, as is the Strangers In The Night version.
Mark Lol !!! " not even close... " ouch. In your opinion. The studio version is tamed. It is too popish. I like this live version a little better than the cut from Strangers and it is because of Neil Carter. I think his energy and his hard nosed playing out did Paul Raymond with regards to rhythm guitar. I think Chapman was stellar. Mark... don't get me wrong ......I loved Micheal Schenker I actually think his work on Walk on Water was outstanding and am I am at a loss for words for why was this record so grossly shoved aside? Peace Mark!
I think UFO were intended to a experimental project in order to create a unique sound that could evolve. Not really sure but the music from the line ups was exceptional over some years where live music dying out. Schenker was outstanding and UFO are the best exponents of melodic rock from another dimension. Keep them whatever they evolve into.
I saw UFO at The Checkerdome in St Louis 🤔 I'm thinking 1980 or 1981, I was maybe 13 or 14 y/o. I think it was Chapman on guitar, and there were only a few hundred people who attended but it was a great concert. I would have given anything to have seen them with Schenker though. He's on the short list of my top 5 guitarists of all time. Also Terry Kath of Chicago. Both are totally underrated
Love Pete Way...not the most technical bassist and he'll readily admit it, but man, the guy had style and energy to spare. A lot of future stars copied him, for sure.
Tonka absolutely a beast in his own right. Unfortunately just had the misfortune to follow Michael. And to correct the guy below The Wild Willing & Innocent isn't just the best Chapman album it's one of the best UFO records period. The solo on Profession of Violence is absolutely Schenker-worthy. Mechanix was good but TWW&I was classic.
That's actually Paul Raymond on (left-handed) rhythm guitar and keyboards, Neil Carter made his debut with the band in 1980 with the album 'The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent' and Carter is right-handed, that's the easiest way to tell them apart. I've been a fan of UFO since 1979, thanks to my older sister.
If Michael Schenker Did Not Leave We Would Not Have MSG.. That Being Said Paul Chapman Got His Turn And What A Great Job Paul Did, He Had To Keep Up With Pete Way... What A Great Line Up!! Nice Upload Thx...
Big fans, they go on to doctor doctor. Talking of influences I hadn't realised before just how much we belong to the night sounds like a lost lizzy track.
I completely absorbed Force It, Phenomenon, Obsession, Strangers, Lights Out, and all the early Scorpions, MSG... Michael, Herman Rarebell, Francis B., Ted McKenna, Rob M., and Gary Burden, Graham Bonnet... These guys are lucky to have the grace and harmony of Michael as far as touring is concerned.
It's a damn shame this band wasn't more well-known. They were awesome. Whether it was Michael leaving or lineup changes, or no support from label. I have no idea.
Neil carter the start of a revamp and sort of new sound from them.classic ufo they found there new sound songwriting at there best marketable.wild willing and the innocent, mechanix album ufo,s new breed of English hard rock at its best.

UFO had so many great songs songs throughout the years.. Not to take away the brilliance of Michael Schenker, who left and did his own thing with MSG. But the show had to go on.
Wild , willing & the innocent was a great album ..I thought the guitar work on that album was fantastic..
Great set of live stuff..thanks for posting.
my first rock concert, a classmate who worked at a local radio station scored 2 tickets. iron maiden; and saxon opened for them.
luv the 9:40 mk and the next couple of minutes - it's so cool to hear all these classic Gibson guitar's- Firebird 6 string/ Firebird bass & vintage SG Jr. on the same stage ~!
I really like the work Andy Parker did here. A very underrated drummer.
waubrowns1 one of the most underrated drummers of all time.
Totally Great Drummer !!! Andy Kills It...
If a drummer can keep at beat, Their great
hes fabulous
These young men rocked me !
They were a good hard rock band! I always liked Too Hot to Handle! That was their only hit basically but they could rock live!
Completely underrated
That was by far the best version of Too Hot To Handle I had ever heard. I always thought the song was on the light weight side, but man did they ever kick it up and rocked it!
its Doctor Doctor not Too hot to handle
+Mark Ullyett What Mark? Did you think that was a 29 plus minute version of Doctor Doctor? If you listen to it, there is like 4-5 songs. One of them is on it twice. I didn't go back and relisten to it all. Now go to the last song on this. It is the best version of???? Too Hot to Handle and the heaviest version of it. Thank you. Mark, check it out. It is great.
Sorry mate didnt listen to all of it. Too hot to handle is a classic.will play it again now :-)
Sorry Thomas, but that is in no way the best version of Too Hot To Handle, not even close.
I was 10 yrs old when this came out. WOW!..and my first album ever was Who's Next...and that has has made all the difference.
Every version of this band was great in its own way!
I saw UFO at Oakland Coliseum in the 70's. They were awesome!!
Day on the Green, they kicked ass, blew REO, the headliner away. I remember the Rich Bitch guitar. Gamma, Kansas..
I first saw them back in 1973 or 1974 on the old Tom Snyder late night show on US broadcast television. I never forgot.
Great compilation👈💪👍
Loved Tonka playing, even if it is only Shcenker remembered.
Saw Rush. UFO and Max Webster opened. Schenker was there. Whole show was insanely good. Had to have been 78 or so.
I saw that show!
Indeed, UFO found a very adequate replacement for the great Michael Schenker in Paul Chapman!
Love Pete Way...not the most technical bassist and he'll readily admit it, but man, the guy had style and energy to spare.
A lot of future stars copied him, for sure.
nice set! Thanks!
UFO, fantastic British band. Paul Chapman so underrated, better than Van Halen. Titans of Rock. UFO, true, pure, genuine, no bs authentic rock.
Mechanix was good but TWW&I was classic.
my all time favorite UFO album
Paul (Tonka) Chapman era was Great he was a killer guitar player 🎸
Awesome band!!!
Neil Carter is such a great wing man, really carries the rhythm through this.
@@imacmadman22Neil appears on the last 4 songs in this segment ! Check out the entire 29:55 minute video.
chapman rose to occasion. nobody can take that away from him.
If Michael Schenker Did Not Leave We Would Not Have MSG.. That Being Said Paul Chapman Got His Turn And What A Great Job Paul Did, He Had To Keep Up With Pete Way... What A Great Line Up!! Nice Upload Thx...
I have never been to a ufo concert before I could check it out sometime 😀
Man you really hear where Maiden was influenced!!
Big fans, they go on to doctor doctor. Talking of influences I hadn't realised before just how much we belong to the night sounds like a lost lizzy track.
UFO should be on the same pedestal as Zeppelin and Sabbath..
Totally. Sadly bad management and record labels insured they would remain a cult band.
MS,one of the best to ever Sling it...great band too
I completely absorbed Force It, Phenomenon, Obsession, Strangers, Lights Out, and all the early Scorpions, MSG... Michael, Herman Rarebell, Francis B., Ted McKenna, Rob M., and Gary Burden, Graham Bonnet... These guys are lucky to have the grace and harmony of Michael as far as touring is concerned.
Holy sh!tt! Young Blood might be the best video in this collection.
Neal carter breathed a fresh breath of air into U.F.O. Playing the saxophone which slightly altered their musical style.
UFO - одна из Великих рок-групп, голос Фила очень приятный. ❤❤❤
Se 2023 já é muito som "imagina há 45 anos atrás ""..... bons tempos.....
This is a super band!!!!
It's a damn shame this band wasn't more well-known. They were awesome. Whether it was Michael leaving or lineup changes, or no support from label. I have no idea.
awesome
This is original Phil Moog..... When he had to prove that he can take the ban on without Michael🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ahhh - the unmistakable sound of a Thunderbird...
The UFO song I can hear it the best on is Lights Out. The damn bass sounds positively evil. Awesome sound.
Neil Carter was great.also in Gary moore.very talented and underrated
Agreed. Also something of a ringer for Barry Manilow back in the Gary Moore period. Head of woodwind and brass at Brighton college now apparently.
@@richardblake9103 Neil Carter is fantastic
Neil carter the start of a revamp and sort of new sound from them.classic ufo they found there new sound songwriting at there best marketable.wild willing and the innocent, mechanix album ufo,s new breed of English hard rock at its best.
