At this time the lucky bastards that were there for this show had no idea this band was tracking for worldwide domination. Incredible musicians and a virtuoso guitarist.
@@Mike-aka747 I agree, these are all bands that were Destroyed by MTV when that came out Pretty Boy bands with hairspray and girls makeup, Looks became more important than Substance!!!!

Clearly the audience was not ready for this kickass hard rock at that time. Their reaction or lack thereof shows that UFO was much ahead of their time-except for the few guys who looked possessed, they probably time traveled from the future. Undoubtedly one of the best riffs of all times.
@Steven Vacco, they got better each year up until 76, when they peaked by adding Paul Raymond and his guitar/keyboards/backing vocals, and while his playing and songwriting helped in the studio, it was live onstage where it really took them to a higher level.
this is definitely the fastest version of this song i ever heard. I see we have some old school 1973 headbangers in the crowd. great video. thanks for posting this.
This has to be right when Michael Schenker joined the band. They didn’t have it down at all. Still cool. Makin up lyrics on the spot. I’ve been there! just hope people aren’t trying to make sense out of them. What a great band though saw them 2 times with Schenker. Both on the “Force it” tour. Once with Chapman. And MSG 3 times. I got some bootleg stuff on here. It’s under UFO- Tower. Thanks. This is cool!!!
Was this ever broadcast on German television? I'm pretty sure I've seen at least a part of this on Rockpalast or that same channel (NDR/WDR I think it was) in 1975. I was blown away, first thing next day I went out and bought 'Force It' and even bought me an identical Gibson Flying V a couple of years later 🤘😎🤘 or it was part of the Don Kirshner 1975 live gig that I saw.
@@georgemaranville3305 That's what I thought, the Kirshner show. Schenker looked about the same as he did in this recording. Phil Mogg made up his lyrics on the spot, over any guitar riff jam, until the song was actually recorded.
It doesn’t sound like Seek and destroy? I’m sorry. It’s timing. Pattern. Nothing really about it. What part of this do you hear it? You must think all heavy music sounds the same. Michael Schenker
🙂
Different lyrics before the song was fully developed. Great riff and great solo.
Maybe the most underrated band of all time, along with BOC!
Greatest Band of All Time!!!
UFO
Thin Lizzy
Golden Earring
All too underrated.

Such a great comment. So funny, love it 😂😂😂Also probs correct!!!
Saw that one guy writhing on the floor and taking off his shirt, and I figured something must be going on!
I have watched Michael perform this recently. He still has it. Truelly a unique player.
The early beginning of seeing the best guitarist and band to take over the rock world.Period....
I love this song so much... great band! Cheers!
This is the best band I've ever seen live especially in Chicago
Chicago's always been a UFO town.
@Steven Vacco, they got better each year up until 76, when they peaked by adding Paul Raymond and his guitar/keyboards/backing vocals, and while his playing and songwriting helped in the studio, it was live onstage where it really took them to a higher level.
Lights out lights out Chicago!!
Ahead of there time. Such a classic riff.
Totally different lyrics! Great fid!
Michael Schenker only 18 in 1973
Andy Parker: Drummer and now maker of great wood products.
Got a link to what he's doing now? Andy still rocked on their 50th anniversary tour a few years back 🥁
@@80sRokker He is selling his wood products on Etsy. I bought a wood dish and it’s great. I learned of this on his website.

4:26. Some early headbangers 🤘
bon scott loved these guys, ac-dc toured with them, great concert.
That guy in the white shirt has the time of his life 😁
I don"t know what version of this song i know, but that has an entirely different text! 😊
What? Different lyrics - I'm intrigued and puzzled.
HOT under those studio lights! 😅
odd this is before the phenomena album interesting
Fantastischer Auftritt!Unvergessen. Ich glaube, die sind damals im Studio alle positiv "durchgedreht ".
Рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍

The track must've been brand new, lyrics not written yet. You could do that in those days.

UFO [ ROCK BOTTOM ] [II] LIVE GERMANY,1973
thnx for sharing!
Dang this a hyper speed version
Muy buena música 🎶👌👍👏
And about 10 years later, Metallica used this as their launching point, with “Seek And Destroy.”
Is that what it sounds like to you? Hmm. Been awhile. I got to hear it again I guess
That's a ridiculous stretch.
Blackfoot “Too Hard to Handle” go listen to that riff
It doesn't get any better
Makin up words always makes me laff. Ozzy did it in Sabbath many times. Before the albums came out.

How come the words are different from their more popular version?
I guess it was before the recorded the LP and they were still working on the song?

Pete Way was a maniac. I wonder if he inspired other players ?
Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, for one! 😉

Was this video sped up post-production, or did the band actually play at this speed?
Yes this was the right speed. This was an early version as per Moog ad libing the words.
