64 here. And, umm...hear, hear regarding their superb-ness. Our band played four UFO songs - their songs (with our energy, and a good deal of up front practice, applied) proved to be real crowd pleasers at the parties and nightclubs wherein we gigged. We played Cherry, You Don't Fool Me, Too Hot to Handle and Lights Out [in] London. Also, although we never brought it to our set list, we toyed around with their version of 'Alone Again Or'...a great cover by UFO. To this day, with my brother then playing lead guitar and singing backup vocals - I still - virtually - get chills thinking of the simple (yet well placed) backup harmony lines in Cherry and You Don't Fool Me. I loved singing to the tone and range of Mogg's voice - as we played a lot of other higher-register songs (which, on some nights, were tough for me to get to - especially with vocal cord fatigue and/or without vocal rest). In any event, before signing off, do you remember which UFO songs you played? Cheers.
I'll look elsewhere for Schenker. And Paul Rodgers & Dio not withstanding male-wise I'm with you. Lots of talent out there,; none should go unappreciated.
