- Some days ago I've had the wonderful opportunity to play the incredible Kern-Organ of the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg / Straßburger Münster! The great acoustics of the church as well as the position of the organ console made this a really great experience - I hope you will enjoy this recording of Carpentier's famous Prelude on 'Te Deum'!

That building just by itself is jaw-dropping.
Easy to understand why Bach called the organ the king of all the instruments. One of my favorite pieces played on one of my favorite organs in the world. Thank you Paul.
Thank you so much!! 😀😀
The heavenly sounds of majestic French music on a majestic French organ, by a fantastic German organist! Like this so much! 😃
Thank you so much, Johan! 😊😀
Simply wonderful, this brilliance of sound in Strasbourg, a great instrument, and a great organist!👋👋👋👋👋
Thank you!
Magnifique ! Majestueux !
Merci !!
Thank you for watching! 😀
Listen to that historic fiery reeds❤️❤️❤️, you can’t help but fall in love with it endlessly. Much so they seems like to have awakened from a deep slumber to announce their majestic arrival & presence. Truly, you give so much joy & enjoyment also big justice to the historic instrument and to other organs to
highlight & showcase their beauty & innateness.
So true! Thank you so much for watching 😀
Watching this nonstop for hours while gazing at the full moon and wish to experience this in person
Das freut mich sehr zu hören! Vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen! 😀
Fey, you're just great! 😍
Found you on Instagram and cannot get enough! Majestic pipe organ music is such a tribute to the Glory of God!
Thank you so much for watching! Welcome to the channel 😀
Einfach nur wunderbar 🎵🎶. Göttlicher Klang
Dankeschön! 😀
WOW WOW WOW Paul this is incredible.
Thank you so much! 😀
Wonderful!!!
Thank you! 😀
Always love hearing this great organ. It should be on every pipe organ enthusiast’s bucket list.
One of the most joyful tunes of all time, beautifully played on a noble instrument. Thank you, Paul.
Thank you so much for watching, Roderic! 😀
Magnifique cathédrale. Superbe Te Deum. Bravo à vous !
Thank you! 😀
Bravissimo Paul!! Thank you.
Thank you for watching, Jack! 😀
Moving and lovely. I once climbed the bell tower there, but what stands out in my memory is the astronomical clock. During my visit, the grand organ was silent.
Thank you for watching, Jim! The astronomical clock is really impressive, I‘ll make sure to incorporate it in the next video 😀
@@PaulFey Wouldn't it make great b-roll for a new 2 or 3 subject fugue? 😁😁😁
@@jimshaw899 Haha, well - I‘ll see what I can do 😀 Sadly we didn’t have too much time on the instrument so I only got to record 3 or 4 pieces.
Oooh, that‘s interesting! We were there when the cathedral was closed, but I‘m sure that someday I might be playing a concert there 😀
Great organ and great selection to play on it. Played at the perfect tempo too. Very well done as always Paul
Thank you so much, Eric! 😀
Magnifique! Il joue avec esprit!
Klasse gespielt und sehr schöne Aufnahmequalität. Danke.
Vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen! 😀
Brilliant times two, both you and the instrument
Thank you so much!
Wow ! c'est tellement beau ! So happy you have played this organ. !
Thank you for watching, Yves! 😀
One of my favourite organs - great to hear to you and the Charpentier having such a good time!
Thank you so much!! 😀
Absolutely magnificent Paul. Thank you for sharing. This is Tte only way I can see these great churches and organs and of course especially to hear you playing. Take care!
Thank you for watching, Alun 😀
Great.
Thanks for this lovely performance. The reed pleno was perfect for this piece as was the reed solo.
Thank you so much for watching, Ralph! It sounds wonderful on this organ! 😀
Ich bin begeistert
😀
A magnificent instrument in such a historic place, and piece selection and performance appear particularly befitting. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! 😀
OMG!
😀
Awesome!
Fantastisch!! Das hast du wundervoll gespielt!
Dankeschön! 😀
Great job!
Thank you 😀
Your welcome!
Toppie😀
Thank you! 😀
Wow! Spectacular! Thank you, Paul!
Beautiful organ! Quite a hike to get up there
So true! I imagine it to be quite uncomfortable when it’s raining 😂
Wunderbar!!! You've done it again, Paul! Thanks.
Te Deum sounds really great.
Thank you!! 😀
What a fantastic Grand Jeu sound. I hope you recorded some more French organ pieces!
Thank you so much, Ralph 😀
Super gespielt, as always!
Vielen herzlichen Dank! 😀
Mega! 😀👍🏻
😀
👌
Willkommen in Frankreich, Paul. Fantastisch 👏
Vielen Dank! 😀
Thank you for recording this wonderful piece and for playing it so beautifully. You brought out the majesty of the music and the superb acoustics of the cathedral. You are a very talented young man.
Well, I‘m loving that piece. While studying options for piano and classical guitar (not being an organ expert) I have consulted lots of interpretations. This one is the best found to give it the right speed and majestic glance, while on solo guitar you need to hold the line by tricking around. Well done - thank you!
Umwerfend schön, ihr Spiel und die Kirche. 🙂👍👌
Vielen Dank! 😀
That thunderous bombarde :) Glorious
Oooh yes!! 😀
Excellente, very good, bravo once again, organiste me too à Strasbourg I know very well this organe with Marc Bauman et Robert the thing you play very well and you respect Marc-Antoine Charpentier i knowing in the chapelle royale of Versailles rue Chapuis once again bravo very very good interprétation Philippe Dubois
Hey, lieber Paul.
Jesus Christ! THAT is the EXACT organ and the EXACT piece that Ms.Diane Bish played! She played it on D major with Trumpet but I love your solo version too because this shows more taste of the Silbermann organ. BRAVO!👍👍👍👏👏👏
Did she?? I skipped through the program on RUclips when I was looking for pieces to play but didn’t hear that one! I‘ve played the Handel though 😀👌🏼

Here's the link that she played with Stacy Blair! Hope that it helps^^ 👋
@@chamadeJJ Oooh, thats it! Thank you so much 😀
Truly magnificent Paul! What a wonderful opportunity for you to play this amazing organ.
Thank you so much for watching, Paddy! It really was a very special experience for me! 😀
Bravo à vous magnifique musique paradisiaque
Wow! How cool and impressive is that! Perfect organ for that type of music! 👌 Nicely played, with a wonderful video production too!
Thank you!! 😀
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bravissimo
Dankeschön 🌸

... erst jetzt entdeckt ...
DANKE 🙏🏻🐧👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧
Sie sind gewaltig in Ton und Bild. Einmalig schön. Herzlichen Dank Paul Fey 👌👌👌
Dankeschön 😀
Nice. Love the building and the organ.
Wonderbaar ! 😊 🙏
Your skill and talent on the organ shines through and also in videography and sound editing as that film was very beautiful.
Thanks for shining a bright light of joy with that piece.
Thank you very much!!
@@PaulFey Thanks. Listening again to this upload I was struck by how similar this organ (which is essentially a 1716 Silbermann rebuilt and updated 1981 by Kern) sounds to the 1770 Clicquot organ in St Roch Paris which was rebuilt updated in 1842/1881 by Cavaille Col. If you ever get to play it again please consider some Balbastre as his grand bombastic music would sound so good in that acoustic. St Roch was were Balbastre was titular organist and his music and playing style was so popular people all over Paris stopped going to other churches and came to St Roch. Eventually the Archbishop forbade him from playing at St Roch.
Absolutely amazing Paul!🤗👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀😊
You're so welcome my friend!🤗👍
It's ALWAYS a great joy to hear you play my dear friend! YOU'RE THE BEST!!❤️❤️
I know that I have said it to you many times but I really mean it!!🤗👍👍👍👍 I'm so proud that I have you as my friend!❤️
Thank you 😀
Such a grandiose sound from this organ today, Paul. I enjoyed your videography outside the church too. Beautiful sound and video today. I'm glad you had the opportunity to visit this cathedral.
I‘m very happy to hear that, Gene! Thank you for watching 😀
Beautiful performance Paul! Cathedral and pipes are beautiful as well.
Thank you! 😀
Wow, what an amazing place! It's sandstone construction means a rather dry acoustic. But what get from that is very prompt, clear speech which you've captured very well.
And mechanical action, that's an instant win in my book.! I would love to see you in the UK some day.
Same here! Thank you so much for watching!! 😀
great ambiance and well played!!
Thank you so much! 😀
Da hätte ich dabei sein wollen. Gott segne Sie Paul Fry 👏👏👏👍🏻
😊
I didn't read the title of the video, and as soon as it started, I thought, those buildings looking very Alsatian! Magnificent introduction and video filming and editing. It's like you took us on a visit with you. I particularly loved seeing the bellows movement (I think that is what that was).
That’s exactly what that was! Thank you for watching 😀
Super und einzigartig schön lieber Paul ❣❣❣
Vielen Dank liebe Evi 😀
@@PaulFey großartig 🌞👌
Cette version est absolument splendide ! magnifique
Thank you so much! 😀
Belissimo!
Eine phantastische Orgel, die des Strassbourgerdomes!
Fascinating. It feels / sounds as though Charpentier - here - has composed in the Fey style with reeds and chunky pedals in martial procession. Good for him. A good time had by all. Urlaub?
Haha, thank you! No Urlaub yet, but next week we‘ll take some time off 😀
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you!!
One of my favorite pieces of music, and you played it flawlessly!! It's a good thing that you and I are NOT neighbors because I'd be a real pest always asking you to "play something for me". You are such a joy to listen to. I have very little musical talent myself so I have to depend upon people like yourself for my "daily fix" for music. Although I can't play much, I have been professionally restoring reed (pump) organs since I was in High School (centuries ago now) and wonder what you could do on such a "lowly" instrument. I'd bet you could work miracles on a two or three rank, one manual foot pumped organ too. Would love to hear that. Thank You for sharing your talent with us.
Thank you so much for watching! Haha, well - we might find out some day! 😀
@@PaulFey Oh, I hope so. That would be a joy to watch and listen too. Hope you have a great day.
Te Deum einfach super 👍, Te Deum fantastique vraiment super 👍
Thank you, Robert! 😀
😊 merci
Beautiful
Superbe !!! Merci !!
Super Video, dickes Lob. !!!!!!
Dankeschön 😀
Boah Respekt, tönt grossartig! 🤩👏 1A.. 🫠🥰 Grosses Kompliment!! 🏆 Grüässli aus der Schweiz 👋😊
Vielen Dank!! 😀
This gonna be great Paul!🤗👍
😀👌🏼
👌

Indeed Peter. I’m pumped too! 😎
