If you get the M4, do the crank hub before adding power. I have one and did a Stage 2 tune, e85, downpipe and a few other things. I'm just under 600whp.
Love the M4 idea but I'd try to find a cleaner one unless the smell and salvage title doesn't bother you. I like the R8 too, can't go wrong either way.

I myself am in a position where I’ll be purchasing one next year while I wait for my Z06 corvette to come in, and it’s been a dream of mine to own since Iron Man came out. The 2nd gens have come down to the 130-140 range and in 6-12 months I feel they could easily drop another 10. A 2nd gen will be my holdover car for sure

Looking at a new motorcycle and keep thinking that the one I want is a little out of my range, but I feel like if I got it, it would be a motivating factor to do more so that I feel like I would really deserve it and feel comfortable with the price and payments. But definitely don't buy it if the finances don't make sense currently, only buy it to push your comfort zone out a little bit more so that it forces you to level up, but not hurt you if you if things don't work out.

The R8 would be perfect! As for the M4, I know my profile pic is still my old 435i but I’ve owned an M4 and I honestly hated it. It was stiff and it was soulless. I ended up selling it for a b9 s4 and I love it! You should get an rs3 or an rs5 to go along with your new R8!!

there really is no reason to be nervous about the gen1 r8. Why not go for the middle road option and get the v10 gen 1?

I rented a Red V10 R8 from Houston at Royalty quite a few years back, amazing car.
The R8 is of course more expensive BUT the smile on your face is 100% better with it. Go forward and buy something you really want ;)
