We all gotta start somewhere. If that's more difficult for you there's nothing wrong with that. Do a couple sets of that just body weight If you want. You'll have much improved hip mobility when you're ready to add heavier weights to your deep squats.
I was a dancer, and I’d always do this same warmup before every rehearsal/class/show. It feels incredible just having the hips stretch out. Another stretch we’d do is having partners go into a straddle split, and they pull each others arms until the one stretching was touching the floor with his/her belly.
Would have respect and watch this channel, if they had the decency to credit the original video creator. I have seen several of the clips from here where I was looking for it to find the full video, just like this one. But it is not here. Not nice
Thank you so much!!! I just started squatting again after a long break, and i was getting this tightening pain in my hamstrings that made me afraid to do more weight. Going to try and do this every morning along with my other stretches.
I did this with a band around my ankles as a warmup. Not only did I squat deeper; but I squatted my comfortably than ever. My true barbell squat Pr was lowered when I started squatting properly. But I actually feel my legs working properly. Now when I’m bored I do this warmup for fun at home
Good stuff! I've been doing that deep squat and knee spreading since about 2015 almost every morning. It did wonders for getting rid of occasional knee pain I was starting to get in my 30s. I also lean side to side to stretch the calves while I'm down there. From there, I go up to a big full body reach for the sky stretch. I've been doing it prior to squats for a while now as well. I'll try adding that half-squat part too.
warm ups like this have actually reduced some of those knee sounds i have in the gym. i noticed if i don’t do any decent warm ups on leg day, my knees will sound like firecrackers 🥲
What I didn't believe was true is holding a weight in front of you actually makes squatting easier. I was messing around with my boyfriend's 25 pound weights and squatted with it infront of me and I was amazed at thr amount of balance I got just doing my regular body weight form but with a weight. Definitely going to keep going that direction.
Can you make a short video on athletic calfs. Some people say that stretching them will reduce the strength explosive movements. If yes, are these long- or shortterm effects.
I can deep squat (naturally flexible /double jointed ) . but now in my late 20’s ( never thought I’d be saying that ) , I have this uncomfortable feeling in my left front hip when trying to deep squat .. I also feel the front hip uncomfortable tightness when trying to squeeze and engage my left glute and thigh . I’ve attempted that Pistole squat move countless times and I can’t lift myself up past my knee without immediately standing on my top toes and falling over( I can’t keep my feet flat on the floor and lift using my heel ) 😅 I feel old and broken down , can’t bend and move the way I use to .
"Mobility" is just a combination of flexibility and strength. It is not a separate aspect of general fitness. Furthermore, for people who do not have an existing injury, there is no need to perform any sort of warm-up when *properly* strength training. Most people have been led to believe that warm-ups are important because they have never been taught proper strength training principles and protocols. Once someone understands proper strength training, the appropriate resistance will be well below the range that would warrant any preparatory activity. (Note this does not apply to the practice of strength training activities for *competitive* purposes, such as Powerlifting. Such activity is sports-specific practice, not strength training.)
Would you recommend this movement for someone who had suffered a hip labrum tear? That was like 4 years ago, and I am trying to recover, but looking at the video, it scares me a little bit
Aside from the deep squat to hamstring stretch, a lot of those exercises look like a yoga routine especially pressing your elbows into your knee. That one gave me deja vu. Just put your hands in prayer position, and you have your chillax pose. 😂
You should tag these people that yout posting about so we can see their page as well.

Exactly

You’re not slick 😂
Yeah asking for a friend 🤣
My squats have never been deeper than what they are now thanks to you👏🏾

Thank you for all the great info. I love these
You should include the link to the original video as credits as well as for us to check it out. Thank you
Agreed.
I think its cuz he usually stitches videos on tik tok, so the link to the creator is there. But he just reposts the videos here without the stitch

Me too!!
The lunge to hamstring stretch is something I need to add to my own warm-ups
Holy moly that looks cool
I need her full warm up? Link or @? Please start tagging them

Man I remember seeing your original video on this when I was still in college and still implement it occasionally when I squat.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!!!
K but who's the op, because she's the one actually teaching this.
He's also teaching this, he even gave more information.

Yea this mobility drill has helped my squat depth tremendously. Always a go to on leg day.
All stretching should be proceeded by some form of steady state cardio to warm up muscles/joints prior
TY!!
She got that last move from Tom ‘The Bodyweight Warrior’
Thanks for uploding that's very good 😊
thank you sharing this I'll try this later.
I'm trying this!🔥
I love this channel 💀
Smart woman. New stretches added
Your vids are interesting and can Help Thanks to this 👍🙏
I'm super jealous of her depth....
Can you make a video about what to do to fix knee that cracking when you get to a full range of motion in a squat?
He has, there is no fixing it. We will rice crispy knees for life srry
To be fair, I've seen a video that claims to fix it so don't give up. I think this guy has a ton of knowledge but he doesn't know everything.

Ive been doing the plate drill for about a month now. Definately helping my squats and oly lifts.
This is also best for pain the next day after legs workout
Watching this on leg day 😂
I'll do a similar thing but I'll hold the bar in front for stability but only for stability, it is pretty awesome
I’m literally doing this movement all day😎my coworkers look at me crazy😂

It is so easy for me because of my hypermobility. But getting stronger is so hard 😢

ayyy that first movement is called the frog squat, i used to do these in middle school as a little kid lmao
Do you sell workout routines ? I can use the videos for form and the routine to get in shape. Thanks

what about walking dumbbell lunges? Could you kindly recommend warm up drills for those?
That's not a warm up. That's the whole workout.
Azz2grazz 😂😂😂😂
So basically weight is a counterweight, which allows you to squat deeper without falling onto your backside.
Me an indian laughing at the train tracks
Woah. So streatches can be dynamic even within a deep squat? Nice
Dude, that's not the warm-up. That's the whole workout.😂

2. Do those
3. Back to home

Yo can you do this with hip replacement
Is it ok do this mobility drill even with a knee pain?

Is this recommended if you have hypermobility in your joints? Or an FAI?
Aside from the deep squat to hamstring stretch, a lot of those exercises look like a yoga routine especially pressing your elbows into your knee. That one gave me deja vu. Just put your hands in prayer position, and you have your chillax pose. 😂
On the weighted squats do you need to also squeeze the hips inward on the way up? Or is it just flexing at the knee?
Yessss, squattttt 👹 gotta love the small fit women.
What if you have separate stretching sessions and already have good mobility? Is it necessary to do as much stretching before squatting?
