  • Dropped the ducati off for repair and was handed the keys to a Fazer 1000, this is the biggest bike I've ever ridden.

Should have opened it up on a quiet road. Pootling around town at 4000rpm doesnt give you a true impression of how good these bikes are.Yes you can pootle along, enjoying the comfy seat and smooth motor but they have a160 mph top end and the same maximum torque as an early r1 at 1000 rpm lower. Roll on overtakes in top gear no problem and drop a gear for real speed. They have a following by those who know about them. For me the best all round bike for the money.

I totally agree, if it was my bike I would have tested it a bit more but I was so impressed by it, even at that mileage it felt like a new bike. You can't beat the Japanese build quality, thanks for watching and commenting, stay safe ❤👍

owned my 2004 fzs1000 fazer for 14 years now, they are only detuned by 6bhp over the r1 engine they are based on but actually have more torq on the bottom end and mid range, they have 143bhp stock, will do 0-60 in less than 3s top speed 160mph, and 1/4 in less than 11 seconds have ridden many bikes and its the best all rounder ever had so wont sell it that one you were on was a bad example as looked like it had been seriously neglected, we long term owners of them tend to do some choice mods which just makes better in everyway. you also had about 40 miles of range left in the tank on fuel. they will do over 200 miles to a tank quite easily

Was it weird being able to find neutral? 🤔😂
Wind noise probably from windscreen channelling it towards your head. Have a similar problem with my Z1000SX: if I adjust it to the tallest setting the air around my head becomes turbulent, so it's better to leave it low.
I've only ever owned Japanese bikes because "character" seems to equate to spending a lot of time riding to the garage to have it fixed. I just like my bikes to start every time 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Nice first impressions video 👍🏼

    Couple of points you raised......
Wind noise on a "Sports tourer", yep, I've had the same issues on a fazer 600 and gsxf750.
    Old bike, still going well?!
Most Japanese bikes are good for high mileage and long life.
    Smooooth!!
Again, yep, I'm lucky enough to own a Versys 1000 and an Aprilia Dorsoduro 750.
As great as the versys is, it lacks the character of the Ape (in my opinion).
Another good video, keep it up 👍

    • @wsmv
      @wsmv  3 года назад +1

Great feedback thank you, the wind noise really surprised me, coming from a naked bike i expected it to reduce but it seems to channel all the wind to my head area instead of the monster letting it hit my chest?? Very strange.
The bike felt so tight in every area (except trim) and felt good for another 52,000mls .
I do have a twitter account and Instagram but I dont reallybise Facebook other than following other pages. Never really got on with it 🙁

@@thedonnybrookghost8394 KTMs are among one of the worst bikes in terms of reliability and longetivity. I bought a new RC390 back in 2014. The bike ran fine for 1st couple of years, after that, it started giving me major problems ij engine every 6 months. Head gasket would fail, oil leakage, gearbox lost its precision, overall, the bike became complete rubbish. Glad I got rid of it in 2018. On other hand, I also have a 2010 R15 with 200 thousand kilometers on odo, still running like new without any problems(except for rattling in fairing at high RPMs).
