Great trick, CM! I love your handling and variations on it. Sometimes instead of a key card, I will either use a marked deck or use a card peek as there is always that possibility of something happening.

I love that trick! I used to do it all the time back in the day. A can of soda was always the wager. Let me just say that I never had to put money in the Coke machine in High School. I mean, this was 35 years ago and it was a different method, but it is amazing how confident people get when they see you pass their card and you bet that 'the next card I flip over is your card'. I could probably own souls right now if I had played my cards right (no pun intended).

What do you do if the very last cut the spectator does happens to separate the key card from the selected card. I know it is very unlikely to happen, but a million dollar bet is risky 😢

What if spectator will do a cut just between his card and a key card? In that case key card will be on the bottom and spectator's card somewhere in the middle
If the key card is cut to the bottom the spectator's card will be on top. So after the spectator cut the deck you need to take a look at the bottom card to see if this situation happens, and reveal the top card as the selected card.
