Best mod for the scx6. Tied it on my completely stock scx and it was a night and day performance improvement, as well as a more scale stance…thanks for sharing.
In my tamiya days I put a filler inside the damper but that only lowers it a little. Doesn't solve the issue you have and probably getting more lowering out of it now. Thinking to buy one. Doesn't have to be for the best crawling so lowering is an idea so it's more stable cornering at speed.
Looks good lowered and looks like it handled a little better. But couldn't you just use softer springs to get it lowered? Will it work the same so this way there will be no putting the shocks on the lower axle mount and doing adjustments on the panhard mount.
@@nikpinet2745 Hey! On the Early Bronco I have 93mm shocks mounted to to link mounts and the 10.3s I have 90mm shocks also mounted on the link mounts on the highest level on the towers with 50% droop. Also, check your silicone weight with your particular shocks for performance gains.
@@kennethrobinson9008 thanks for the tip. What do you mean by the shocks being mounted on the link mount? They’re not attached to the axle? Sorry I’m not usually a noob maybe I’m having a brain fart
@@nikpinet2745 No worries. On the Bronco there is a mount on the axle for the shocks and another location lower on the axles for the links. I mounted the shocks and the links in the same link mount, which reduces the ride height. It will take longer screws and spacers to make the adjustments but is worth the time.
Do you want some washers at the top of the shock also so it matches the distance from the chassis at the bottom so the shocks aren't crooked or would it even matter for crawling? Just wondering i don't do crawling so i apologize if it's a stupid question.
It just keeps getting better! How much clearance between the Vitavon shock towers and the hood? It looks like they could have been taller, to provide more adjustability in the suspension.
3mins in, so I apologise if this was covered, but would you not just invert the shock and maybe add a spacer for the top mount instead? Puts the shock body weight lower to shift the COG and you don't change the preload of the springs?
I’d like to see some of the RC4WD 40 series tires on it with the suspension raised back up. Especially those 8 inch plus tires! Would look like a properly lifted big tire Jeep!
Got my Anit- Foams and got to test them out yesterday I got them in my Voodoo KLR/M’s and they are awesome got the dual stage no tuning rods, no tire rollover they are just awesome dude I love them waiting on another set for my 4.19’s
Thanks Joe! Another great tuning option. The 6th scale long wheelbase helps with climbing. Like the 10iii Gladihater. But makes high centering a problem. Probably not going this way anytime soon. If you get a 30 minute window, check out the Missouri Scalers Rigs and Coffee video! It was a great time at Elephant Rock in Missouri. I'd only had my 6 a couple weeks and it was box stock except for stickers. Got a lot of fat shaming. Big girl, SUMO, lol. And it was great! Set some vacation aside and join us for the next one. Bring some 10ths and your 6!
Hi i have question for you 😃 what Will be the best motor compo to put in my second X maxx wanna make it wide whit the new widekit also and what gears and gearing
First thing to do on a SCX10 or 6 is to cut The fenders trough the line that gives 1/8” clearance without doing anything to the suspension on an scx10-3
Joe: Back in the 1st gen, redcat gen8 days, WE overdrive the front AND under-drove the rear axles. Was about a 65 fr & 35 rear. WE also messed around with doing it the reverse. Wasn't good, except in reverse! 😜

My first tool no my second tool in my arsenal was shock pliers . My MIP’s My first set of tools
I just picked one up yesterday put a cup of Upgrades on it I'm looking for a trailer now waiting for my trouble hitch to come in the mail
What about overdrive? You need to try🙂
Have link to spacer for the shock or this custom made?
Man that is just bad ass, Want one every time I see yours maybe one day
Great solution 👍👍.
I kinda like it sitting a bit lower than stock, looks great

Doesn't have to be for the best crawling so lowering is an idea so it's more stable cornering at speed.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with
Great info. I'm really impressed with how your SCX6 is turning out. I'll work on getting one more towards spring time.
Heck yeah leaves are fun. Makes me feel like I'm nine years old again haha. Super slow-mo video of power sliding through them is fun too.
Yeah buddy!

Great all around solution. Best of both worlds.👍
Love this build. Joe your educating every video. Thank you so much🤙
Thank you buddy. I try
Also do your shocks bottom out sooner now and have shorter stroke? So less articulation? Sry trying to get it right in my head. Lol
The lowering has worked well on all of my 10.3 based crawlers. It really helped the Bronco significantly. Nice Work Joe!
Hey man, I’m interested in lowering my 10.iii aswell. Did you do this mod with the stock shocks?

Nah the top is fine.

Maybe a bit of room but the axle begins to interfere with the chassis
man! I NEEED that setup where its fast 2nd gear and it could crawl at the same time too! Do you have any videos on how you built it that way?
They come stock with a very large difference in 1st and 2nd gear which is awesome.

that might work, will have to try it

Roadside rc had rc4wd 40 series on his. They don't look right
Awesome video. Thanks for that Joe. Id like to know what castle motor you have in that thing now?
1260kv 1717 motor with Monster X 8s esc

And yes, foams. My finger nails have been chewed back to my wrists and 3Br still isn't selling us anti-foams!!?
I am thinking about upgrading my electronics on my LMT. What do you recommend? Monster X or Hobbywing system?
Monster X
You mentioned dif gears? Who makes them ?
By adding those 5mm didn’t you also lose 5mm of shock travel ? Not that it’s a big deal, especially on a 6th scale
Yeah it did. I didn’t really notice anything. Now if I was to continue to jump and bash I’d set it up different.
Every setup has a compromise, depends on how you are using your rig.

A how to vid on modifying panhard links and servo horns from hitting axles and stuff would be nice I have the same problem with my sxc10ii
Awesome dude appreciate you sharing, I’m learning something new every day thank you, this is why I love your videos.
I appreciate that!
Leaves are better than mud I swear it takes days to get all the mud off the rc
Where do i buy these vivaln upgrade parts?
Have you seen berm peaks direct powered stock servo mod it’s nuts
Yeah I have. I’m amazed it’s surviving that
@@ExocagedRC will you test a cheap hv Amazon servo on direct 2cell for us so I don’t have to blow mine up

I can make them I have a file somewhere email me exocagedrc@yahoo.com
Is that motor as loud in real life as it sounds in the video?
I can’t find the 5mm spacers!!
He 3d printed them
hi do you have vitavon links for scx10iii
No sir sorry
I don't get the rc crawling but you sure makes it look like fun
Wats the inner diameter of spacer?
6mm
You know vitavon made high clearance links too
Sure handles a lot better Lower down
At 9.03 does anyone else see a new line, down the vee notch there? Driver side on the bridge, passenger on the block ...
Awesome
ANYONE who dont have shock pliers NEED em b4 doing ANYTHING to their shocks!

yeah, this thing is so big and heavy it may just add to much load to the system, don't know yet
for how much vitavon charges for their shit there shouldnt be ANY clearance issues.
Why can’t these huge companies with their massive R and D budgets, spot these simple issues?
👍
And the battery 10 pieces
#1😁👍
Your first comment
11:10 you flipped it and it landed on its side. that wasnt a save, lmao
Can you give me some of your SCX 6 pls
You still lose 5mm of travel
overall yeah but I really don't notice it, besides the chassis doesn't have clearance for it all when lowered
Just not a fan of the scx6
Same here, it's cool but not very practical
I'd buy one, but can't support the price point.
@@Art-zs6sl Same here man
I felt the same way, until I got it and started driving it, its different and really good.
I thought the same until I got one! Now the others sit😆

1st comment! I win the rc give away!!
Nope someone else is
WAY 2 late! 😁 As in 14 minutes ago to YOUR 3 minutes ago.
LOL
Vitavon stuff is just so overpriced!
