Fasting: 4 types of Fasts and How Often to Do Each- Thomas DeLauer…There are 4 types of fasting that you can rotate through and get different kinds of benefits, depending on what you're after. We're going to talk about types of fasting that boost metabolic benefits and body composition. We're going to talk about another kind of fasting that you can rotate in and out of that's going to help you with cellular rejuvenation and overall recycling cells. Then we're going to about another kind of fasting that's specifically good for the gut. And then, lastly, we're going to talk about another kind of fasting that is very extreme, known as dry fasting. This is your overall encyclopedia of the different kinds of fasting, and how you can utilize them, and how often you should be utilizing each and every one.
All right, let's talk about the first one. The first one is one you've heard of before, intermittent fasting. Now, intermittent fasting is doing shorter periods of fasting, relatively frequently. So, in this case, I'm talking about doing like a 16 hour fast, with an eight hour eating window, or maybe an 18 hour fast, with a six hour eating window, or somewhere in that general ballpark. This is the kind of fast that you should be doing three to four times per week, hence the word intermittent fasting. Some people like to fast every single day, but honestly, I'm a proponent of just fasting three to four times per week so it maintains its effectiveness. Intermittent fasting is best for body composition. Sure, there are a multitude of other benefits when it comes down to brain energy, when it comes down to autophagy, and all kinds of things. But, by and large, the standout benefit is body composition.
So, I want to reference a study that helps make some complete sense of this. This study was published in the Journal of Translational Medicine. And it took a look at 34 resistance trained subjects. What it wanted to measure was what happened when you compared subjects that were fasting, doing an intermittent fasting protocol, versus subjects that were not, that had the same amount of muscle, had the same amount of fat, and were eating roughly the same amount of food. The results were pretty crazy. What they did is, they took these subjects and divided them into two groups. One group consumed their food at 1:00 PM, at 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM. This was the fasting group, intermittent fasting. The other group consumed their meals at 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 8:00 PM. So basically, they were eating standard meals throughout the course of the day, like a regular diet.

😍🥰😁 Maaaan I'm so happy I discovered fasting... Before fasting I felt like I was dying. my body was rapidly deteriorating. High blood pressure, high triglycerides, arthritis in my knees and shoulder, Inflammation, depression with minor suicidal thoughts and I'm only 34... In as little as 4 months with a mixture of Intermittent and prolonged fasting I went from 225lbs to 185lbs(I'm 5"9 by the way) High blood pressure 100% GONE, high triglycerides levels 100% GONE, arthritis 100% GONE, Inflammation 100% GONE, depression 100% GONE, sucidal thoughts 100% GONE!!! My doctor said " whatever is you've been doing KEEP IT UP!!!" it's safe to say this fasting journey saved my life 😁🙌🏾
manninla congratulations!!!!!
Which one did you do? And where you on medication when you did it? If you were, did you drink it on an empty stomach? Sorry for my questions, it's just that I don't know how to start?
Love it
Great!!!! I do it too and have never felt better. I’m 59 and wish I’d done it far sooner.
Congratulations!
I am muslim and I've been fasting since I was six years old and I'm 39 now.....so it's easy and the benefits are real. when I was young during our fast we played basketball soccer etc after class for hours....no food or water from sunrise to sunset and it didn't bother me or my friends...and now I go to work and no problems....by the way I was a general manager at a chain restaurant for 10 years and all that tasty food didn't bother me me....fasting is more cerebral than visceral
@@crazykudii2230 the soft dry fast is from dawn to sunset. We have to finish eating/drinking by dawn and can’t break the fast until sunset.
Islam is great
True, consistently doing it makes it normal
The no water thing is stupid. It's why Muslim soldiers are so awful during ramadan.
@INID Bil Are you talking about fasting during Ramadan? If so, that isn’t really fasting, as it often lasts for only some 14 hours or so. Also, most Muslims eat quite voraciously in ‘preparation’ for the ‘fasting’, so, again, it doesn’t really count.
i did a OMAD style of fasting, since 30 days, i believe fasting has brought me a sense to understand my body.
I'm still on OMAD, and to be quite honest, it's the best thing to happen me. At 49 years old, I've not felt this great in a long time.
TerminatorXX, same here and I am 49 also
How many calories do you guys eat? I really like this style of fasting too, but I don't want to slow my metabolism by eating too low of calories. Wish he would have talked about this.
@@eyeamusic I eat around 1800-2400 a day. I know that's a big meal, but I do a good amount of weight training. My body had really responded to this diet.
I'm fasting for a week now and still wondering about this and that. Now this guy says not to fast every day. I'm doing 16/8 atm, so should I fast every other day? Or just keep doing it every day as long as I eat my BMR calories?
I understand Thomas needs to protect himself by telling people to talk to their doctors before doing this and that.
But most doctors still tell people to spread lots of small meal throughout the day, and weirdly most of them don't even understand the benefits of fasting, and will tell you that's bad for you.
Now imagine telling them about prolonged or even dry fasting, it's very rare you'll find a doctor knowledgeable enough to allow anyone to do that.
Pathebach the harsh reality.
Of course the doctors will say it's unsafe and or dangerous because if you're healthy they will lose patients. It's all about the money for doctors and the big pharmaceutical companies.
You're your own boss and have the ultimate control over your body. Tell doc what you're doing and he/she will have no choice (if they care about you as a patient) but to ensure blood work and all other vitals are good during your fast.
This is most valuable comment on this or any other diet related matter, kudos,
People be advised doctors have prevented many people getting on Keto and Fasting thus have caused so many desperate good people who needed to lose wait from this amazing life style of keto/IF, just start slow adapt to it and experiment with your body by listening to it and you will literally Taylor it so it precisely suits you and your lifestyle, good luck on your journey Keto/IF is the only and true way!
Yeah he has to tell people to be safe and that he isn't a doctor. You can choose to do what you want until something goes wrong and you go to the Dr and tell them you were fasting so that's the reason when really it was the metabolic disorder and your body wasn't able to adapt fast enough but with some smaller fasts before working up to a prolonged fast you would have been successful and cured your metabolic disease
On Saturday I did a 30 hour hard dry fast I feel absolutely amazing!
How's ur skin post fast
I've been fasting for the past four months and lost more than 50 pounds, that's why I've created my own channel to teach people how to fast as well. Let's do it guys
I fast every single day, intermittent fasting eating in a 2 hour window and fasting 22 hours and it has cured me of all my metabolic issues that i had and i shed 40kg...thank you Thomas for these wonderful videos..you inspire me so much, so much so that I also have created a channel on these same issues. We need to spread the word in keto and fasting..all the best to you!!
I started doing that same and faster boxing class for cardio....16 pounds down in 3 weeks
Thomas says he thinks its not best to fast everyday to keep the metabolism up so you burn more calories in a rested state during the day. Whats your opinion?
2 hour window? So you only eat once a day? OMAD?
@@johnkap5740 yes
@@nailezoupani Must be a real big meal right? And do you do OMAD Every single day? Or 2-3 times a week?
Thomas, loves the videos. I lost 120 lbs in 5 months and I believe 80% of my success was due to a prolonged fasting period followed by OMAD lifestyle change. The prolonged fasting period changed how I think about food and it became a smaller part of life. I didn’t stress about when are what I was eating anymore. I just tried to eat enough at the end of the day. Sometimes skipping food until lunch the next day. It feels nice to have control of your appetite and stabilize your ghrelin. Luckily I actually enjoy healthy food, but when I was struggling with life, I ate fast food once a day. 4 McDonald’s burgers, a large fry sometimes two, and a coke/Diet Coke, and still kept all the weight off and actually continued to lose more. I truly believe fasting, and hormone control is the backbone of health and energy utilization. Everything between only stacks the benefits or nullifies them. I also paid attention to what I ate for a while. I ate less carbs, much more Capsaicin, I watched a lot of your videos about food and nutrient utilization which helped me understand the basics of eating, metabolism, and overall body health. I smoked a shit ton of weed too. Sometimes an O a week, which studies have suggested increased your metabolism. It doesn’t make me hungry. I guess it helps me feel balanced. I have a bit of a mood problem lmao I used it to motivate myself and keep myself disciplined. I enjoyed hitting the gym high af. I’ve never enjoyed cardio until I did it high. Your videos also helped me understand how I wanted to train and further my health by using fasting, and a dedicated gym strategy. You’re awesome dude. I appreciate your videos and thank you for sharing the knowledge. You’ve helped change my life.
“Be sure to talk to your doctor before dry fasting.”
Me: Hey Doc. Thomas DeLauer has some good info on dry fasting and I want to incorporate it more in my life.
Every doctor everywhere: You need to eat 6 small meals a day if you want to lose weight!
Otherwise you will wreck your metabolism.
He still has to say it for legal reasons. Even though doctors know nothing about nutrition.
lmao as if Thomas DeLauer has more superior knowledge about health than all doctors out there
@@Inkill2009 doctors know shit about nutrition...shit
Lol, most Docs know crap about nutrition and what they tell you is the idiotic "Food Pyramid" crap and look at the majority of people. Need any more proof? Now look at Thomas.
Finally!!!!!!!!! Someone who can answer all my fasting and healthy lifestyle questions...I am so happy I could cry honestly. Thank you I truly appreciate your existence💪👏
Yesterday I was on the BEER fast. I'll be waiting for that video, thank you.
Bro I accidentally did this and I see big improvements in my skin always happens when I drink beer 🤷♂️
Atta' Boy!
Why don’t all RUclips videos describe what they’re talking about like this guy?!? Great video!!!
I've done water fasting on and off in the past ranging from 1 day to 21 days. I then started 16/8 intermittent fasting for the last 2 years while eating a ketogenic diet. I tried dry fasting last year and lasted 2 days. Today I am done with day 2 and going on day 3 of dry fasting AFTER water fasting 2 days. I want to go 2 to 3 more days dry fasting then start drinking juices and switch to smoothies, then back to a normal diet.
Thank you for posting all of your references. So many people talking like experts but not doing the full expert job.
You show how it should be done
What about embarking on a Dry fast first, then after the desired amount of hours reached, only incorparating water again ? (So keep on fasting, just not dry fasting ?)
Thanks for your video(s) man, i love your content.
There are people who do that. But I would advice caution, if you feel ill - stop and eat/drink. Work your way up from fewer hours :) and also don't do it more than once a week?
I really love your channel Tom. Yours is one of the best health channels on the internet because you really know your stuff. You have helped my wife and I to immensely improve our health.
that new background you have is making me trip during my fasting, Thomas
OCD people will love this channel!
Dry Fasting isn't really that extreme, it's actually easier than water fasting. I know it's hard to believe, but if you just try it you'll notice you wont be thirsty all day (like you are during a water fast).
Agreed. I've tried dry fasting with working out though and I don't recommend that.
How's this possible
Agent K Tom explains it in the video, your body creates its own water.
24 hours?
boteza. Agree. I dry fast twice a week
I have started dry fasting every Thursday night to Friday night. During the day on Friday I go for a 2 hour brisk walk that includes very steep hill climbs, down hill and level walks. I've done this for the last 2 weeks and tomorrow will be my third. I'm almost 60 years old. My aim is to fix my fatty kidney, reduce middle belly fat and overall fat and loose weight. I look forward to this each week.
Wow. Good work. What benefits have you seen so far?
@@viviankingasia1857 Thanks for you interest, My heart rate and beats per min are the same as a fit 40 year old. I'm a steady 80Kg now which is good for my stature. My overall body fat has greatly reduced and I fit into size 82 jeans now easily. I can also lift 160Kg to waist height. Basically I feel fit and healthy and believe me, females notice.
I basically did my soft dry fasting when I was in my online-gaming days without even knowing the real benefits. Haha Good video always Thomas! Thank you for sharing.
Great stuff Thomas! Thank you for sharing all you share with those trying to sustain better health! Bless you sweetheart! 😊
Msjae00 thank you for watching!
5:2 dry fasting (with intense workout) is the best option. I did Keto for 2 months, results were amazing, shed off around 50 lbs real fast, then switched to 5:2 dry fasting when I reached the weight I want. Still losing fat, feeling really good, and actually got used to it so I don't feel tired. True, I do lose water mass gained by the carbs I consume. The 5:2 fast I do is not for 24 hours, but 18 hours then I do REALLY low carb (1 or 3 dates, then a chicken breast or steak with veggie salad). And don't forget sparkling water.
PS. You can remove the intense workout part and it still works, I stopped working out for a month and still losing FAT mass, my muscle mass is (almost) intact.
i Just finished my 48 hrs of dry fasting o my Lord!!.. It was the hardest think I ever did, I was able to lose 4lbs I just start eating light soups blended with some nutrition on it like Lentil or Quinoa soups. I am planing on doing the Intermittent Fasting.
if you managed to do 48hrs fasting, intermittent fasting should be a breeze.. you can do it!
This was a really good video! I just did a 2 day soft dry fast. it was quite effective except on the third day i had to eat something. I didn't binge but I spaced out my meals. I never thought about rotating the different fasting plans.
3 days without water will kill you.
I enjoy your chanel. As a visual person I feel like a written, visual outline of the information you are giving would be helpful👍
Hi Thomas, I've noticed in a few of your videos a few inaccuracies regarding autophagy. Autophagy is a process by which individual cells recycle their intracellular organelles, hence the name auto (self) phagy (consume). The way you're describing it makes it seem like it's some sort of paracrine or endocrine process, which it is not. The great thing about autophagy is that in essence it rejuvenate permanent post-mitotic cells, like neurons, by breaking down and recycling dysfunctional organelles. Anyways, big fan of your content!
Thanks for clarifying. No Pacman effect, then, I guess ...
Palle Kjær Laursen :’(
The wat you explain things is excellent bro, you're a very smart dude. I know this is 4 years old, but i had to say this.
4:00 min marks explains cells eating cells
Thomas is a G. Straight up. Comes with the knowledge every clip and knows how to deliver a msg in terms of video content, flow, and length. Definitely an inspiration and really opened my eyes to a variety of different nutritional strategies. Appreciate you dude
This is the kind of video that makes you realize how powerful and insanely complex our bodies really are.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints and we do a soft dry fast on the first Sunday of every month and have no problems.
You can induce autophagy even with daily intermittent fasting if you deplete yourself faster
Siim Land how often would you recommend doing a long fast (24-48hrs)? Have you ever tried a dry fast? If so did u notice any big differences?
Talking about topics that have not been researched extensively is silly.
There is plenty of research on fasting...
Oh there is? On human subjects? No there isn't.
@@Inkill2009 Yeah, there's a lot... You should try researching, just cause you can't Google it doesn't mean there isn't research... SMH
Hey Thomas, I do intermittent eating only from 12-6 each day for 5 days a week then I do 2 days just water. Works well. What do you think? I love your channel thanks so much. Cheers
I enjoy doing a soft dry fast once a month for 24 hours for religious reasons. It isn't very difficult, as long as you're not doing something that will get you dehydrated. The important thing is that you pay attention to your body. I had to cut it early a few times because I really sweaty and starting to get dizzy due to walking around on a hot, humid day.
This is your best vid yet! I grabbed your references and I'll read them all word by word. I'll be back with comments if any. Thanks!
Brian Cane thanks for tuning in!!
Dry Fasting...from everything you stated it seems to be the ultimate way to fast. My way of thinking is this: how can dry fasting be "extreme" if it's something we are already doing every night while asleep? Just extend your nightly fast a few more hours after awakening and do it as a 16 to 18 hour intermittent fast 3 to 4 days a week as you've recommended for water fasting. What's the harm in that?
Very helpful. Welldone and thank you for sharing
Here are some other benefits to those fasting protocols:
1. It will help a person increase their will power.
2. Become more sensitive to insulin.
3. Become aware of how foods affect them when breaking a fast.
4. Getting more done in their life, business, housework, ect. since digestion will not be taking up energy and time.
5. This is related to will power but it will take a person out of their comfort zone, like a cold shower in the morning or muscle confusion in body building.
Happy fasting everyone! I think the government should declare a day out of every month as a national fasting for health holiday since fasting is in all (if not most) religions.
Amazing video...best one yet, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing all this info with us.
Sarae Bernal glad you enjoy the video! Thank you for tuning in!!
Really really good video and explanation. Thanks Thomas
megaexidor glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for tuning in!!
I just hit the 72 hour mark with my EF and saw this video. I am playing it by ear so I will probably make it a 96 hour one. Thanks for discussing the dry fast. I may give this a try next month but I don,t see how I can go 2-24 hours with a dry mouth.,
Great video again Thomas. You are the Guru of Keto / low carb.
Prolonged fasting and liquid fasting, what is the difference?
Surely during a prolonged fast, the person is only drinking water/tea/coffee/maybe broth, so how is a water fast different?
Confused!!
With liquid fasts you can have liquids with calories in them, like fruit juice and milk in coffee. Prolonged fasting means that you dont have any calories in your drinks, so only water, black coffee and black tea. Hope this helps
The best explanation on youtube, thanks for this informative video
SLDavis -Nutrition&Health so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for responding😊
Hey... don’t know if anyone can explain this.
I have been fasting 20:4 (6pm to 2pm) for a week now and apart of the weight loss (4.5kg) I wake up all pumped up every day and my mornings are immensely productive.
Is there any science behind this or I am still in the motivation period???
Carlos Filipe
It’s both, but also scientifically.
I do OMAD since 2 weeks.
I feel so much different.
Light, fresh, very active, ...
Not much sleep needed.
Are you still fasting?
6pm-2pm?! So you fast from 6pm until 2pm the next day?
Fav video so far! I was just going to do a video like this for my channel but your team executes them so well! I'll send peeps your way

Whats the difference between Prolonged and a Soft Dry?
Hi Thomas, it will be great if you can talk about resveratrol. Thanks
It's supposed to support autophagy, I take it a 2-3 times a week on days that I'm doing fasting periods of 20 hours or more.
I usually start my fast around 5 pm. Having a small snack before my workout and then have my next meal the next day morning. Works great for losing weight and I sleep like a baby
*14 day cycle!!!*
(Please correct me if I was stupid or made some BIG mistake)
Day 1/3/5/7/9/11: 22/2 fast (not using antioxidants, using autophagy stimulators)
I do first one small meal and after one hour a very big meal
Day 2/4/6/8/10/12: not fasting (lot of antioxidants and autophagy stimulators, things like black coffee and green tea)
If on keto some fat at the beginning of the day, some proteins at the middle, and more fats at the end of the day (the sandwich theory)
The amount of calories should be regulated conform if I want to lose, gain or maintain weight
PS: Days 4 and 10 are actually also liquid fasts (using that marvelous 4 stylish coffees and the bone broth as nutrition)
Day 13: not eating at all (no antioxidants and a lot of autophagy stimulators, things like black coffee and green tea)
Day 14: after waking up, you are whit between 30 to 40 hours of fasting, so you need to start first having a small meal whit some proteins in it (if on keto I put the same amount of fat or a little more, but very low to no carbs), after 1 hour I then eat a bigger meal. After I regulate myself, I do as a normal eating day, but eating a lot more (since we want the total calories you eat on the 2 days be the same as if you never fasted the day before)
Hey bro! Thanks for Inspiring me to make my own keto channel man. Keep up the awesome content!
😂😂😂
I am enjoying it. Thanks for doing it.
Great video, this is the DeLauer I love!!! Your videos have inspired me to do prolong and try a dry fast in the past thanks so much for this great info it has done wonders for me at 45.
Hello. Thank you for all the great information. I have a question about what I think is called intermittent dry fasting. 20/4 or 22/4 whatever combination. I am curious, if I break my dry fast at 20-23 hours, and "feed" for 2-4, then jump back on the dry fasting, is it like staring the process all over again? or what is happening? thank you
I am on Omad 3for now on ( I eat over 2 hour only now) I fast 18 hours at least. I do keto (very low carbs) 5 day a week. I do calorie deficit but 50 grams of carbs other day) . I do one day dry fast weekly. I feel much better losing the weight now
Can you please make a video on the different body types: mesomorph, endomorph, ectomorph ?
They're not real
It'd be nice to a video on what to do if you did intermittent fast, kept the calories too low (by not doing it correctly) and then gained weight when you increased your calories :(. Happened to me and sadly now I'm scared to reverse diet due to already gaining weight... either way, it'd be nice to get some sort of video of reverse dieting if you kept calories too low in intermittent fasting doing it wrong. Your videos are awesome!
Dry fasting sounds pretty much like Ramadhan fasting to me tho. 🤔
except ramadan is like 14 hours and dry fasting is 24hrs up to a whole week
Durden Soap dry fasting for a week is insane and retarded
@@iProFIFA Depends on where you live and what season holy month comes in, but it's more like 18-22h. Many ppl don't wake up for imsak therefore the duration is pretty much around 20 hours a day. Oh and it's a soft dry fast according to the definition in this video. Hygiene is important.
Mehmet Not showering for one day isn’t going to make you anymore filthy or make you sick or anything. Sure you might get a bit smelly towards the end of the day but you can make sure you brush your teeth and take a thorough shower the day before but a hard dry fast isn’t bad lol
in hindu culture, traditionally, fasting is very much part of life, research 'ekadasi', it is done in different ways depending on the date, sometimes it is a version of dry fast. ancient cultures were very wise.
Great ! Info! Bro! I recently went five day fasting which made me feel superhuman and trained in the process keeping potassium and electrolytes up which is key...of course i've been IM fasting for couple of years..wouldn't recommend for beginners or those who aren't consistent with IM fasting. Then broke it with kettle bone broth and rice cakes and progressed into more nutritious easy foods to digest.
I only give myself an eating window of one hour each day, and every few weeks I might fast for 48-72 hours. I have not felt any repercussions from this. My cognitive functioning is crystal clear, dropping plenty of fat and gaining more definition in my muscles. I also do the ketogenic diet.
Hello sir! Thanks for all the info you provide. How do you take your everyday vitamins that require food if your are fasting 24 hours
I'm sitting here listening to your video and on my second day of a 48 to 56 hour dry fast. No water no food. My teeth got whiter and lost a ton of weight and my skin got tighter. I started with water fast and OMAD first.
Wow that's awesome
I've done an 8 day dry fast in the past along with many shorter ones. Don't forget to eat your electrolytes! Don't put them in water, obviously, but eating salt and potassium chloride as dry powder in little pinches throughout the day will really help your body feel after the 2nd-3rd day.
No jizz for you then if your on a dry fast.
How are your energy levels? And any side effects or other things you notice about your body that you feel the fast helped with?
Omar Gutierrez . Well I did work Thursday and Friday so I would say my energy is pretty. I can feel my energy is starting to deminish. I also got some acne but nothing to worry about. I also experienced some brain foggingnes at times at work. My body's temperature raised on the second day. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth but I think is normal because I'm on ketosis.
New video format, interesting! Edit* I like it! A lot of quick information that is easily digested.
There are more than 4 types of fasting. The most important type wasn't even mentioned.
The most popular (before a couple years ago) was fasting for several days (5 days, 15 days, 40 days, and even 70 days). Many people fast 40 days every year, and have been doing so for decades.
IF is popular now, and I'm happy about that just because it gets more people fasting (even if only for 12 hours), but a 5 day fast is ten times more powerful--and a 15 day fast is a thousand times more powerful.
IF is now all over YT, but I remember in 2001 reading books on the amazing benefits of fasting (for 15 days)...books that were written in the 70s and 80s. If it weren't so natural, you'd think the results are miraculous.
Even before the 70s, all the studies confirmed the life-extending benefit of fasting.
I encourage you to learn more about fasting--not just watch popular RUclips videos, but dig deeper.
Brainbuster sources or you’re talking out your ass
👍Thank you. I appreciate all of the effort that you put into making these videos and dispensing good helpful info. 💞

Hey Thomas! Thanks so much for the video. I noticed you are now doing the green screen with background graphics. Perhaps it's just me and my opinion is not the majority, but I think it feels a bit cheesy compared to you being in the studio with stock clips thrown in separately. Maybe it'll grow on me and I know you're legit and not cheesy. It may throw off new subscribers though. Just something I wanted you to be aware of. The one where you're in an everyday environment like a home/outside are the big ones. The medical stuff going on in the background isn't as bad. Have a good one Thomas! Thanks again
I prefer the studio kitchen as well.
Ditto. And keep the shirt on bro. This isn't your fitness channel.
I am sure his studio will be back up again.
Have it in the corner not whole background
Agree. I felt the same way.
Fasting also helps my sleep tremendously. I fasted Saturday night for 24 hours and it was the only time during the week, I didn't wake once. I'm 58 so waking during the night is common, but when I fast, it helps.
Hi Tom loving your videos mate. Just a question - while dry fasting you said the body removes hydrogen from fat cells to use with O2 to make water well does this effect how that remaining carbon/oxygen is used? As in does it change how it's stored or change how it's used after hydrogen has been removed? Or will the Fat cells absorb hydrogen ASAP after to make up for it being taken
watch his video on "how to break a water fast"
You always explain stuff in a very clear logical manner, though pretty fast...😍..
So I need to watch each video more than once
Thanks for sharing
YT has an option to slow down, real good for fast speakers like Tom and anyone else who English might be their 2nd language. Find it under settings.
Where's the kitchen?
Maybe it's post-robbery
SHUT THE FUCK UP SIIM!!!!!
Monday-friday 14-16 hour fasts. Saturday eat whatever when ever and sunday 24 hour fast. My monthly routine
Universal Powder are u still doing this? If so, how effective has it been cause I kinda like your protocol.
When intermittent fasting 3-4 times per week, are there extra benefits to doing the days consecutively or does it matter?
Wondering the same. I'd rather do it all in a row....the first day back's always the hardest for me.
Do it 7 days a week
Great video... Amazing work... They don't ship internationally .... Really appreciate your researching
Chamanlal Sharma thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video!!
can you elaborate more on a break fast meal such as the bone broth an hour before your actual meal, is it needed for a 16-8 intermittent fasting regime?
You don't need to break your fast slowly or in any special way with 16/8... 16/8 is most likely just skipping breakfast..
Rock Heiland Or skipping dinner. I like my food in the morning.
Useful information, Have a nice day!!!!
Health Honest Review glad you enjoyed the info! Thanks for watching!!
love you videos, vey interesting! I'm fasting 8/16 every day, I will start to fast 24h couple of time per months and intermitting fasting 3 times per week. But honestly, I think the last 2 type of "water" based fasting you're describing here in this video are just to finally push a product that works with fasting. If you're fasting, you don't consume. Period. No need for anything extra. If you want to make a "liquid" intermitting fasting, just drink water during your fasting. Period. Fasting equals no spending money during that period. It's also the beauty of it. Do not push your products for fasting man, you're selling yourself.
You may have covered this already, but I'd love more information about how to deal with mood whilst fasting! Great video as always.
dry fasting is one of the best ones, I think
Awesome. Will definitely share!
Thomas, I dunno why your background of new video, especially this one, looks so weird lol.
I like the natural background not the photoshop background, in my opinion.
Spectacular video Thomas, especially in respect to dry fasting. Dry fasting is the ultimate secret to a healthy body and mind.
I am Muslim and we do dry fasting for whole month of Ramdan 29 or 30 days once in a year and its compulsion on us by our religion. its duration 14 to 17 hrs depends on in which month of calendar year Ramdan comes. It has too much health benefits and I think if someone do dry fasting in routine 2 days in a week will get most of health benefits.
Thanks for making this!! Definitely subscribing!! Spreading the word...
1:16 So eating plates won't break your fast??
Orange Man bad
Great post Tom! Thanks for keeping us lean!
The Hamptons butcher glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for tuning in!!
When people say intermittent fast 3 to 4 times a week, can you do them in a row or should you do it every other?
Dr berg says is not good to fast like this
Just do IF daily
Hey every nite you do a dry fast when you are asleep.. Why can't you just keep going thru out the day?? Also you can do a 12 hour dry fast too.. Thanks Thomas DeLauer for all the info.. Love your RUclips..
I fast 23 hours every day. Aka, i eat once per day
OMAD. One Meal A Day. Not bad.
@Nuclear Redfield i also started the "carnivore diet" though i hate the word diet. Meat, eggs, butter. Fuck loads of water. Yum
@@Demortixx I'm eating a lot and getting them love handles on a carnivore/keto diet. But then again I'm bulking so that ends up happening. I am getting stronger and adding muscle. Once new years comes I'm eating once a day again. It's just water retention.
@@Demortixx me too man.. Ive been goin with 'eating strategy' instead
@@GFlow111 i go with "eating lifestyle"
Wow. Thanks for explaining. Now I want to try 24 hr dry fast just because it's equal to 3 days normal fasting.
At 54, 'old, decrepit cells' are something I am familiar with.
@Tony Cliffton I'm in my early 40s. Things seem bad in your early 30's and then much better in your early 40's. Sounds like they get shit again in your early 50's. Maybe it's cyclical
I must say at 66 yrs I now feel better than I did at 45. But it's clean keto, no drugs, and ACV/lime drink b4 every meal. I'm just starting prolong fast (42hr) 2x month.
Great video. Love the science behind everything.
I started intermittent fasting. Down 10 lbs in 1 week....probably mostly water. Found out how much I eat when I'm bored.
I made my mind my bitch!!
Dear Thomas, nice video thanks. Can you enlighten us on whether it is possible to continue building muscle after the age of 50?
So people could do the 16/8 every day
But if I do the 16/8, but only eat one meal at 4.30 pm every day, is that also a 24 hour prolonged fast?
Cause. Honestly. That's all I have time for. Work all day, eat once, schooling in the evening.
Yes, that's OMAD. Not 16/8, bc 16/8 means you just eat lunch and dinner, no breakfast. Or breakfast and lunch, no dinner.
that’s what i’m doing currently
Thanks for your videos, Sir! Just subscribed.
Honestly I hate starving myself but I want to live healthier and longer.
Not a fan of the new green screen method. Understand you can record form anywhere, not just your studio, but would keep to a minimum. Just looks kind of cheesy. Imho.
Great info.! Thanks for yet another informative video!
flossarella glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for watching!!
No kitchen, no credibility!
Stankin' Thankin' lol
No real photo....no credibility from you stinky thankless....

I honestly can’t go without eating for at least once a day. I love fasting but I exercise on the daily and I’m on keto as well. The longest I’ve been able to go without eating since starting fasting is 22 hours. I do want the best for my health but I don’t know how so many people can go days without eating! Kudos to you seriously!
I just did 5 day fast 😂
@@tanyaa2327 wow that’s incredible! 😃👏 I seriously don’t know how y’all do it but that deserves major stars ⭐️
@@healthhollow7218 thanks that's what my mom and dad said! My friend did it too and tbh I don't know either but was worth it lost 9 LBS!! 😊
@@tanyaa2327 I wish I could do that! Congratulations!!! Maybe one day I’ll get there 😊
@@healthhollow7218 yaaa this. Was first looong one, most was 3 days did that. Once! I got really mad at my body for not Losing while intermittent so that's how I managed 😂😂😂
