I live in a city where the maximum temperature does not even touch 35 deg C. Moreover, I'm not going to take my car around the entire country even if I get the opportunity to do so. Therefore, your opinion about sunroofs in our country is very self-centred.

I have Xuv500 W10 for 5 years now and let me tell you. Sunroof is a very useful and premium feature and should be a must have if you are paying 20 Lakh plus, no excuses. It never gets chocked or blocked over time as stated in the video (I haven't had any issues of leaves and other stuff choking it, etc) nor does it make cabin hot as roof blind is there. And when u go to hills or at nights, it's a very nice feature to have. Also, it enhances cabin feel and gives a sense of satisfaction of having a feature which u can use at touch of a button at your choice (or not use). So don't buy top model only for sunroof, but if it is there along with other things, then it's a sweet deal.

It's my personal experience and since then, I have bought another car, this time with a panoramic sunroof as I loved this feature particularly. Your opinion can differ, depending on location where you live and climatic conditions, etc. But I live in delhi NCR with frequent trips up hill, so it's a nice thing to have in a car IMO

I live in the green hills of Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast and the panoramic sunroof in the new Creta is a boon for me. Driving with so much natural light and fresh air is such a delight. Not to mention during rainy days, it feels so great with the sun shades off. So yes, it depends on where you live and how you're going to use it. Routine maintenance like lubricating and cleaning once a couple of months is very less effort in comparison to the complete feel it provides. I don't understand why would you buy a car with a panoramic sunroof if you live in a polluted area like Delhi or any other big city. For me, it's a delight.

My friend owns a MG Hector it been with him for about a year now he was one of those early buyer who bought the car just after its launch he said the main feature that attracted him was Sunroof Large touch info Internet car Now he totally regrets buying it(as new Automatic Harrier came along) He said he had opened sunroof only once, and touch screen became unresponsive and its annoying to use voice command 😑😑 adding to that driving dynamics is poor so is the handling Sunroof is a gimmick behind which people go crazy (Indian customers mainly) and they end up not using it our climate and dust is another reason why sunroof is less appealing.
That is the reason I didn't buy my mein with sunroof. But companies should provide top model with all the features with the optional sunroof or not. Because I didn't buy the sunroof model, few important features I had to miss.
We shelved out of new 2020 creta coz of panaromic sunroof....too hot inside during peak afternoon...needs to put ac in full mode... useful for very cooler areas.hill stations etc...

Cruise control is only for long highway use. But in our country even highways are not safe to use cruise control. For Last five years I have used this feature in my care for 4-5 times and that too during night time due to less traffic at highways.

Indian carmakers are selling sunroof as a luxury feature and people are falling for it, but basic features like the rear camera, folding mirrors, airbags, etc... are compromised in mid variants of cars just for a sunroof. xuv700 is the best example!

yes, is one of the most important features for a car. you won't feel Closter-phobic and can view the sky at night by driving out of city ofcourse ! baki users can care about mileage, but things like stick, superb-handling, rwd, sun-roof are my cup of team.

Cars with sunroof are not used for crash test. Because sunroof is not safe for passengers at the time of a crash. But if you want to enjoy outside views during a night ride or a rainy day ride go for it. Also cleaning a sunroof is a hard work. Many people wont open the sunroof after they lose their initial interest because of the dust and cleaning problems. Also if you dont like too much dust inside car avoid opening sunroof too much.
Its very useful in winters when u not want to open windows and just rise up sunroof. Its helpful from wind blast in city driving make sure ur speed will not exceeding 65km

My Volvo has all the features you would expect in a car Trust me we hardly use all the features Sunroof is is good during the rainy season. We just open the sun blinds and the glass is shut. It is a wonderful feeling. But that’s it. Rest of the year the sunroof is shut.
What if you need car only for hill station travel. Sunroof is quite risky at these locations. In total if I need a top end variant with all important features including airbags then I can't buy. Is there a way companies can be told about it?

Weaker build quality and leakage would be in outside fitted sunroof and it is getting serviced at regular interval in service centre

Cars with sunroof are not used for crash test. Because sunroof is not safe for passengers at the time of a crash. But if you want to enjoy outside views during a night ride or a rainy day ride go for it. Also cleaning a sunroof is a hard work. Many people wont open the sunroof after they lose their initial interest because of the dust and cleaning problems. Also if you dont like too much dust inside car avoid opening sunroof too much.

Its very useful in winters when u not want to open windows and just rise up sunroof. Its helpful from wind blast in city driving make sure ur speed will not exceeding 65km

Main concept of sunroof is to get some sunlight to body. Now a days people r not roaming outside in busy lives. Just AC home, AC office and AC cars. To avoid health issues then need some sunlight. So sunroof is partial solution.

Sunroof is is good during the rainy season. We just open the sun blinds and the glass is shut. It is a wonderful feeling. But that’s it. Rest of the year the sunroof is shut.
