I've been using this feature on my polo tdi manual variant since past 3 years... I'm in love with this feature n feel it a necessity by now. I have mixed city n highway use and I'm so used to it now thay I even use it in city on lesser congested roads. Big plus is the extra fuel efficiency it provides... U need to get used to it to know how to get the best out of it even in a manual car. Also polo can do as low as 40kmph at 5th gear, so once u're above that speed in 5th gear, it works as good as an automatic. When u're out on a relaxing drive in the rain at 30kmph, u can just put ur car on cruise control n enjoy the drive. Another advantage is in hills, just put it in 3rd gear and a speed of 30kmph and u will see a noticeable reduction in motion sickness to the co-passangers...
Same here man. The only change, I have a diesel Rapid with the DSG and on that , the cruise control experience is taken to another level because of the automatic gearbox.
@@akshayjuneja1987 okay. Thanks. Clarification- in automatics if the speed is set at say 70kmph we can release our right leg and if we apply break when necessary, it returns to the same speed? Similarly this can be done in 60 kmph, 80kmph etc ? If yes that is really useful in highways or relatively free roads
I really appreciate how wonderfully you've described cruise control & how impractical it's for Indian roads. Yes it's true what you said at the end that for most cars, the facility of cruise control is used merely couple of times in a year.
It makes more sense in automatic than in manual but I use it on highways sometimes and get 16-17kmpl from turbo petrol of Seltos. Quite useful for empty stretch of roads.
Kaafi achcha presentation kiya bhai saab aap ne. Some features like cruise control, DRL etc are just for show off I believe. Because, the utility of such facilities are not suitable on most of Indian roads. Even LED headlights are not required for cars. This is a hurdle for IRVM. accident chances are more with cruise.. normal driving me pata hai ki accelerator se leg hata ke brake marna hai.. But during cruise chances are there to accelerate instead of braking as foot is away from both &in hurry may land on accelerator
Saal me sirf ek aad baar hi kaam aaega. Kya baat karrhe ho bhai. I am using it and I use it often and it's really convenient. When I drove another car with no cruise contol I felt the emptyness
aapne jo jo bola bilkul sahi bola...cruise control ka bahut advantage hai but sabse bada disadvantage hai ki neend aati hai long drive pe..aur reaction time bhi kam ho jata hai..
Its very helpful feature, I use it regularly in my city automatic. As CVT is not good at maintaining speed. This feature comes very handy. It saves lot fuel as well.
It's always useful in highways and long drives. I always use it. U don't feel need of automatic car. Also it extracts best mileage from ur car. No more leg strain. If Indian truck drivers maintain their lane, this feature is very effective.
Cruise control on polo engages at speed of 21 kmph which makes it useful even in city drives. This feature is better than the Japanese cars like honda and maruti who have cruise control at more than 40 kmph and then they say what is the use of cruise control in city. Cruise control increases fuel efficiency along with a comfortable drive experience.
I use cruise control in my automatic car in even in my daily drive in the city. I have mastered the art so well that i hardly use the accelerator and brake pedals.
