I also own this film on BluRay, but the version you watched had scenes I had never seen before. Now I'm on a quest to find the extended cut of the movie that could NEVER be made today! 😁
One of the funniest films I've ever seen. The premise is fantastic, the performances are brilliant, and the script is stupidly funny. I saw this in the cinema on release and loved it so much I went back and took a girl on a date there, partly so I could see it again, partly to show her a great film. She didn't get it. 14 years later we're still together and I'm still not entirely sure how...
Another great movie: "The Last of the Mohicans" a beautiful historical drama set during the 7 years wars between France and the UK in the americas. The score was sublime. Should have won an oscar for that!
Actually the character is an extremely thinly veiled portrayal of a different producer: Joel Silver, to this day maybe the greatest producer of action movies ever but by all accounts one of the most unpleasant people in the film (on any other) industry who is infamous in the industry for his screaming fits and highly coloured verbal abuse.
When Ben Stiller approached Tom Cruise about playing the part of Les, Cruise said he loved the idea and found the script hilarious. He said he had only one request and that was he wanted to dance and he wanted fat hands. I'm not sure he has ever said the reason for that but I just love his character in this because it's so different from his usual roles.
21:20 - the best thing about that scene is when Les Grossman throws the phone back to his man and says "can you find out who that was?" 😅😂😂😂 He was talking ALL THAT SHIT without even knowing who he was talking to! 😅😅
Tom Cruise told Ben Stiller "if I'm going to do this part, I need two things: I need to have fat hands, and I'm gonna dance." Ben said "what? We were hoping you could just do it as you." Tom said "I'm sorry, I don't know how else to play this character! I need to have fat hands and I'm gonna dance!"
Fantastic reaction. Much of this movie is parodying/paying homage to classic Vietnam movies, primarily: Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter and Platoon. Happy to see you got the reference to Dog Day Afternoon! I didn't realize you guys had seen that one!
Watching Simone entertaining herself is wildly entertaining for us also. 🤗 Both of your reactions made the movie even funnier. Thanks for the great time!

Simone's reactions are absolutely precious... you can literally see her thinking "Oh my God they wouldn't! Oh my God they did!""
11:32 Fun fact: RDJ actually does the audio commentary in character. He breaks character during the closing credits.
I used to make references to this movie all the time, and my dad never understood them. One day I made him watch it, and he had almost the same reaction you 2 just did. It was hysterical laughter the whole time.
This is still one of the funniest movies ever made 🤣🤣 so many classic scenes that are always funny to watch over and over
Tom Cruise is hilarious in this movie. Him and RDJ are the best. Glad you guys found it hilarious too. I saw it in theaters back in 2008.
George saying "alright alright alright" at the end. Doesnt even realise how much of a genius he is!
Hello CineBinge, I've never seen you two laugh at a movie this much before. It was some kind of record set.
It was SO much fun watching you guys watch this. I saw it in the theater (where the fake ad and trailers came after the REAL ads & trailers and instantly messed with the audience). I also own this film on BluRay, but the version you watched had scenes I had never seen before. Now I'm on a quest to find the extended cut of the movie that could NEVER be made today! 😁
I love the Stormlight reference “Shallan” when he’s having the identity crisis!
yeeting Half-Squat off the bridge is one of the greatest comedy moments ever
I love that they let Tom Cruise go wild and gave him total control over his character.
Opposites attract?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love your humor
Another great movie:
"The Last of the Mohicans"
a beautiful historical drama set during the 7 years wars between France and the UK in the americas.
The score was sublime. Should have won an oscar for that!
My favorite Tom Cruise performance is Les Grossman. Also, the character was heavily based on Harvey Weinstein; I'm not joking
Actually the character is an extremely thinly veiled portrayal of a different producer: Joel Silver, to this day maybe the greatest producer of action movies ever but by all accounts one of the most unpleasant people in the film (on any other) industry who is infamous in the industry for his screaming fits and highly coloured verbal abuse.
the face of the youngling panda killed, i laughed so much in theater, my girlfriend was so embarrassed. 😄
The chunky hands and the dancing were Tom Cruise's requests for him to play that role. You're right that every character played their roll perfectly.
Just noticed the headline in the beginning that said the Pope blessed Les Grossman.
The part where RDJ breaks character for two seconds actually works because he’s a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude
Jack Black going through withdrawal is one of the funniest things ever. 😅
Les wasn’t in the script, it was made up by Tom himself
You both continue to be a riot during comedies. Exceptional sense of humor!
tropic thunder reaction is the best reaction of all time. no movie/ tv show can beat tropic thunder for reaction videos.
The "I'm a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude" line has been remixed into a pretty great song. Worth checking out!
Y’all damn near killed me during that scene with the kid stabbing him in the back 😂😂
21:20 - the best thing about that scene is when Les Grossman throws the phone back to his man and says "can you find out who that was?" 😅😂😂😂
He was talking ALL THAT SHIT without even knowing who he was talking to! 😅😅
True to his word, Robert Downey Jr. stayed in character through the DVD commentary.
This is the best reaction of this film on youtube. I have been chasing the high of this video hahah
Oh, this was a great reaction. Although for a second I feared for George's life during that bridge scene. :) Keep up the great work, guys.
RDJ does the DVD commentary for this movie in character and as soon as the movie is over he switches to the Australian accent. He's so great.
Possibly the single funniest thing made in my lifetime. No one is prepared for just how hilarious this movie is.
i also loved that Tom Cruise as Lester Grossman did MTV commercials with Robert Pattinson
Not hard to imagine why this was my favorite movie as a high school senior when it came out
Tom Cruise told Ben Stiller "if I'm going to do this part, I need two things: I need to have fat hands, and I'm gonna dance." Ben said "what? We were hoping you could just do it as you." Tom said "I'm sorry, I don't know how else to play this character! I need to have fat hands and I'm gonna dance!"
Fantastic reaction. Much of this movie is parodying/paying homage to classic Vietnam movies, primarily: Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter and Platoon. Happy to see you got the reference to Dog Day Afternoon! I didn't realize you guys had seen that one!
There’s a hard to find video of Tom in the Les Grossman costume dancing to fly like a g6.
Watching Simone entertaining herself is wildly entertaining for us also. 🤗
Both of your reactions made the movie even funnier. Thanks for the great time!
I LOVE how you mentioned THE Shallan Devar from Stormlight when RDJ was talking about being nobody! Such a cool and unexpected reference
I still lose it everytime RDJ says, "That word.. has been bringing us down for 400 years." And Pachino's face
*mouths* "WHAT THE FUCK?"
I've watched several reactions to this absolute classic, but this is the best one. The joy was palpable and Y'all included pretty much all the best parts.
Great job. 👍❤
It was nice to see Alan Partridge doing something that wasn't graveyward shift radio for once.
They need to see Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa
@@PeverellTheThird I worry it might not work without the context of the shows. Michael the Geordie might be particularly confusing to the uninitiated.
One of my favorite comedies. Such a perfect satire of Hollywood and the acting is so great
The huge hairy hands were Tom Cruise's idea, by the way. They talk about it in the commentary.
I'm pretty sure Les Grossman was based on Joel Silver or some other mega-producer that Cruise had worked with in the past, who had big hairy hands, and that's where the idea came from.
@@jculver1674 they say he based his appearance off of a producer friend of Ben Stiller named Stuart Cornfield. His picture on Wikipedia is pretty damn close.
@@Sitter007 that dude looks like an older Louis CK
My all-time favorite comedy. And it was amazing watching it in the movie theater when it came out. Went in with college roommates and friends. None of us had any real idea what we went in to. The fake previews caught everyone off guard. And no one in the cinema really realized it was Tom Cruise until the end. Amazing.
To this day meme material and the only movie i can quote word for word.
Such an amazing meta commentary on film-making, all the while making us laugh hysterically.
This might be my favorite reaction of yours. Great work!
How many young people that watch this now miss that it was actually Lance from NSYNC...😝🤣😂
The same procedure that Kirk Lazarus used was used by the actress that played "Vasquez" in Aliens.
Still one of the funniest action comedy movies ever made!!
Tom Cruise read the script and told Stiller it needed additional work. He wrote the part for himself as the studio head!!
I can't decide what was more entertaining ... the movie or you two cracking up!!
Peep how peck is on the G5 at the end, mf agreed to les’s deal so he’d have a ride down to save the homie, man’s is a real one
