The dead panda bit wasn't originally in the script. At the time, Jack Black was fresh off of Kung Fu Panda, which was projected to make all kinds of money, and apparently, he wouldn't shut up about it. So, Ben Stiller decided they had to work in a way for his character to kill a panda.
The really crazy thing is he actually killed a Panda on screen in a single take. Neither China nor PETA were thrilled, and the production had to pay many hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines as a result. Still, well worth it - the movie just wouldn’t be the same otherwise
Robert Downey jr actually does the commentary in that voice throughout the whole movie….the man is true to his word when he said that about dropping the character

This movie shows why so many other parodies fail: it fully committed to what it was trying to do, and didn't pull its punches to avoid criticism. Just comedy gold.
Aside from his roles in The Last Samurai or the Mission: Impossible movies, Les Grossman is my all time favorite performance by Tom Cruise. When I first saw this movie, the scene of him going on that rant against the kidnappers made me laugh so hard and for so long I nearly passed out because I couldn’t breathe.🤣🤣🤣
The funny thing was half of this stuff was his idea. He read the script and said I have some changes also I need a fat suit with a tonne of hair. NVM they just read that.

It didn’t click for me until he called Bill Hader’s character a nutless monkey. I finally recognized the voice. I couldn’t figure out who it was in his earlier scenes, but I knew the voice from somewhere.
Fun fact at the mtv movie awards as promotion and a bloody good time since this movie was nominated Tom Cruise came out in full makeup and the outfit and did a whole performance and even danced with Jlo. bits and pieces can be found, but I can't find the full performance start to finish.
Both these Ladies are so lovely but as far as emotion goes I have to say that Kristen is on a level of her own,this reaction is amazing..I recommend watching their reaction to "ARMAGEDDON". These two pair up so well I would love to see them with a channel of their own. Lots of love from N.Z.

This is the greatest role Iron Man ever played bruh....I still remember the fact that he literally didn't break character until the end of the actual DVD commentary on the film. Hilarious. RDJ really is one of the greatest, he has all time great comedies, indies, blockbusters, romance movies etc. I'm crying laughing every time he is on screen.
So glad Steph and Kristen enjoyed this, what a great movie and I’m glad they got that it was satire, recently saw a reaction to this that said it aged poorly and they were offended by it. Tell you this, I’ve worked in “the biz” doing lighting in Hollywood for 20 plus years, and we ALL (the crew members) share/exchange stories and experiences of working with different actors. I’ve never worked w/ him, and The Scientology aside (gonna leave that alone) but every person I’ve worked with, that has worked with Cruise has nothing but nice things to say about him. And that’s rare in this business to not have heard a bad story/experience about an actor that’s had such a long career. That says a lot.
Also Tom Cruise is NOT just an action star. He is a movie star that does action movies OCCASIONALLY. To me, action stars are guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan, Michael Jai White, etc., where if you think of them, all you associate them with is action movies. I'll add there is NOTHING wrong with that, I am just saying that Tom has far more range than people give him credit for.

Now THAT is a film I have yet to see anybody react to. I never saw Action Jackson back in the day but I want to see these kids react to his awesomeness.
