    Your' statement "Who has ever thought to themselves 'I wish I could take my sim with me'? No one" or something like that shows your point of view as a single young man. :D As a father of 4 and a full house I can tell you having the ability to fold that sucker up and get it out of the way so others can play their titles is a life saver! And the base plate bar can be made sturdier by using the included strap. If done correctly, it's stout enough for CSL DD.

      @@bobbyosborne2375 absolutely. NLR have tips on how to make the rig sturdier, but as you said, placing an extra strap from baseplate to bottom rail makes it rock steady.

    After spending $1700 on a Fanatec setup (around the CSL DD) I foolishly planned to desk-mount it since my desk takes up about half the space in my room. This was a mistake since the DD desk mount is a flimsy piece of plastic and using a load cell pedal on the floor just wasn't happening. Not wanting to spend another $1700 on a rig that wouldn't fit in my room I bought this. It's way larger than I thought, which is a bit annoying since I'm tight on space. On the other hand that makes it way more solid than I thought- I honestly expected something akin to a lawn chair size-wise, but it's significantly beefier. I haven't had any real issues with flexibility using my DD, though I did have to adjust how I break to stop the chair from tilting back. I'm very happy with how this cockpit has worked out for the price. It's a great entry-level design.

      @@trollswan_0226 I said $1700 on a setup, not just the CSL DD wheelbase. I don't remember exactly all the prices, but throw together the wheel base, the boost kit, the universal hub, the steering wheel, the pedal set, the load cell brake, the shifter, and the... I think that's it but I'm probably forgetting something, and it all adds up. Plus the desk mounts but those didn't quite work for me so I bought a budget cockpit which I might have included when I said $1700. Also I accidentally bought a second quick release, which I've since gone on to use on another wheel.

    I have found that it is better to attach the buttkicker at the top of the seat. you will feel way more vibrations when its installed there. Also, I have mine set up in a bedroom with shag carpet which soaks up some of the buttkickers vibration. Once I mounted the seat up on 20" x 4" x 3/4" boards, I got much more vibration. I use a t300 wheal on it. I store it on the side of my desk and pull it out when ever I want to drive. It takes about 5 minutes to set up. I remove the pedal mount when I fold it up - since it is a little easier to maneuver around. I am very pleased with my GT Lite.

  • @kalebasphalt

    U can use the TS-XW on the GT-Lite with minimal flex by using the strap included. The strap mod can be used on the wheel plate to make it a tiny bit sturdier. And for the brake problem, the seat's just trying to give you the effect of the car lurching forward when you brake hard - next level racing thought about this to replicate their traction+ motion simulators!
    P.S. The 2nd statement is a joke.

    I looked at one, then looked at a wheel stand. I got the wheel stand, added a decent beach chair, bolted them together with some square pipe off an old keyboard stand, and filled the downtubes with concrete. It's solid as a rock considering it's size and portability. I travel for work so being able to bring my rig with me is important, and I'm not sure if I made the right choice, but after watching this video and seeing how much that moves and flexes, I do feel more confident in my decision. I'm also running a Moza R5, TLCM pedals, TH8A shifter and an ebay handbreak, so I think the GT-Lite would have cost more and been less stable. Good to know. Great video.

    I had one. It's pretty decent, but it really is just a lawn chair with a wheel deck, pedal plate, and shifter mount attached to it. The foldability aspect of it, though, wasn't that great. Getting it to fold up like they market how it can fold up ended up being more trouble than it's worth to me. And the foldability was the main reason why I got it. I was looking for something that I can pull out at a whim, race a few laps, then fold it back up and put it away with a minimal of effort. This thing wasn't it.

    • @shanehawke5643
      @shanehawke5643 8 месяцев назад

      Yep 100% I bought it and it's an absolute PITA to fold up and put away and it's not that compact. It's really quite large and beefy and tbh really fiddly to setup correctly. The chair isn't uncomfortable but it's not particularly comfortable either. There is annoying flex in the rear of the seat which really irritates me as I would prefer it to be fixed and rigid instead of moving around all the time. Not worth your time or money imo.

    2:18 I've used this thing with about 10 - 12 hours over a week now and the seat is not comfortable. They should have put a bar on the back between the back and seat because the way the seat curls up it pushes against your ass and it has no cushioning making it feel hard. Also it puts you in an awkward position with the way that there's no lumbar support and you're sitting on it king of curled up. If they put a bar on the back between the seat and back like the playseat challenge has it would make it much more comfortable.

      In theory, yes. However, it’s important to keep in mind your height, posture, width, etc. If you’re seriously considering it, I would consider reaching out to NLR’s support team for clarification. Or I would also recommend looking at their other offerings which may be better suited.
