I feel like we're already seeing it with Vertigo 2. Now that it runs smooth on PS5 Pro I doubt the og will get any performance patches (not that they were probably going to anyway)
1:55 exactly! I hope they bring a patch that removes the reprojection. It's insane how good GT7 looks in VR, but the only thing that keeps it away from the word "perfect" is the reprojection. Looking sideways while driving makes this easily visible and unsharps the image!
I hear everyone talking about reprojection, but I honestly don't know what to look for. Does anyone know of any videos that demonstrate it? What PSVR2 games have it, and what should I be noticing?
@@corefunstudiosgames will just look “framey” when turning with the control stick or seeing objects move across your view. Its 60fps in a 120hz container. Head movement is reprojected to feel like 120fps but the game and everything else runs at half that. The easiest way to see it is watching GT7 replays. You can see the cars judder as they drive past you
I imagine some gamecats are disappointed to hear that the Pro doesn't really do anything major for PSVR2 yet ... but I have to admit it's good news for me, as I can't afford to upgrade to a Pro any time soon! 😂
@beans4brekfest yep, but even then, only for games that are specifically patched to take advantage of it. It remains to be seen just how much of a boost we'll see, and for how much of the PSVR2 back catalogue. I'll certainly consider upgrading, if and when we start to see really significant improvements (I don't care about flat games, they already look good enough, imo).
I only want to know if the developer will enhance GT7 on PSVR2 with a patch..it's already fantastic in VR, and a pro-patch could make it even better! Hopefully the update next thursday will be the one...
Cant recall whether I posted about this on your channel before or not, but I tested Into the Radius, and Green Hell when i got my Pro. Can confirm that both games run much better in certain areas that I know struggled with framerate. So we can add them to the 'yes pile' too. And Bryan. I know you are pretty set against the PC adapter, but I just saw some videos on a channel called 'VRDad' that showcases Skyrim VR Mad God overhaul, and some AI mods. I just got my first PC a few days ago mostly for the UEVR injector, but after seeing these Skyrim mods, I think that has taken priority. It's almost unbelievable. 👊✌️
They patched RE4 so nicely, but didn't do anything for the VR version. Kinda annoyed. They could probably do 90Hz native now and that alone would be a massive improvement visually.
You are always right, but you have missed the improvements in kayak vr, the 8k texture improvement is really great and I urge you to look again, especially the trees distance.
Thanks for doing all this research and for providing your results! I'm looking forward to when PSSR is supported on PS VR2 because I'm sure this will make a tremendous difference while in the headset with your eyes being so close to the screen. I am curious to know more about Kayak VR though. Even though the game is graphically impressive, I've always noticed some strange ghosting issue in the distance that looks like it's due to a lower than optimal resolution. It's particularly noticeable with objects that move in front of your view--like the oars--while looking into something far away like a mountain or just into the sky. I'd compare this issue to some early PS VR1 games back in the day, such as the effect present across all of Unearthing Mars. Because I love technology, I may end up upgrading anyway in March after getting bonuses from work and my tax returns. I love seeing the natural ray-traced reflections in games like Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and the frame rate boost would always be a plus. My PS4 Pro has died and I may not be able to get it working again, so I'd probably end up keeping the OG PS5, and the PS5 Pro.
The issue is due to a combination of Reprojection (reprojected frames, aka artificial frame interpolation/insertion) and headset display persistence. The latter can be improved slightly by dimming the display brightness. Games need to be native 90 FPS or native 120 FPS to remove Reprojection. These two issues also contribute to VR sickness for those that suffer from it.
There was another yesterday patch for No Mans Sky with "Introduced a number of quality and optimisation fixes for PS5 Pro." as one of the notes so it might look even better now
would you mind checking pavlov? at the moment there are few places on the map datacenter night, that really buggin the PS5 and just feel really bad to play (middle of the map, near the ad posts and in some other places)
While getting rid of framerate hitches shouldn't be something to have to pay so much more money for BUT, that is definitely something. Call of the Mountain did have some hitches that were jarring, so NOT having that goes a long way.
Ovrdark did say a pro patch is coming tho. Really looking forward to seeing the pro improvements roll in over the next few months and yea obvs PSSR too.
Unless you've got plenty of money to burn it's not worth buying the PS Pro especially for VR as the thing is too bloody expensive especially nowadays as we are all counting the pennies
Also, Vertigo 2 on the pro is still a stuttering mess on [my] pro. I didn't even get out of the menu screen without drops to 20 fps. All in all, 90% of any possible enhancements falls on the devs. A pro isn't really magic on its own, unless a game is unlocked to run as fast as the hardware running it
You're the best! Thanks a bunch! (nobody deserves how fantastic Hello Games has been, being on flat or VR, NMS will always surprise me, they're just too good)
No Man Sky looks (chefs kiss) on PSVr2 the only problem that I have with this game is the flight controls. I don’t want use the virtual joystick to flight le the flight with the analog sticks damn !!
@@stratoshd9043 much worse, imo, are the Exocraft controls. The wheeled vehicles are largely undriveable, but what is unfirgivable is the stupid way the Minotaur controls. Just let me walk around with the left stick the same as when I'm on foot!
NMS is definitely much better and if you play it regularly I think this alone justifies getting the Pro. This game also shows what is coming down the line so get it now or get it later, up to you. I also jumped into Kayak and it was always great but the textures on objects seem much better to me, go look at a penguin in each version and you can see a big difference.
I checked out Into The Radius on the Pro and was very happy to see that the framerates are improved. But they're improved on the regular PS5 too -- which means it was patched since the last time I had played it.
The only reason I bought PS5 PRO and sold my original PS5 was to have better resolution in PSVR 2. Let's trust PlayStation that will bring us that improvement in PSVR2 With PS5PRO. Hope so 🤘😸🎸
I am still on the fence. I think it's super expensive if you take it JUST as an upgrade. Like if you own a PS5 already. For newcomers, I'd recommend the Pro over the OG just due to the fact that down the line, games will have pro only features, i guess.
About pssr, dont get your hopes high, its not proper tech for vr gaming. Even dlss that is league ahead of pssr is not best for vr with some exceptions.
That's really fascinating. I'm new to PC VR. Do you know why? I'm about to Google because I was planning to get an Nvidia card for DLSS over AMD, but it sounds like DLSS won't be useful for things like UEVR and standard VR games in that case. Many thanks in advance.
Hoping PS5 optimization doesn’t now take a backseat now that the Pro is out
This too was my concern
I think that's unlikely as 95% of the PSVR2 market will be for the base console.
I feel like we're already seeing it with Vertigo 2. Now that it runs smooth on PS5 Pro I doubt the og will get any performance patches (not that they were probably going to anyway)
Ironically ps5 pro will outsell vr2
I would not worry, it would not make sense to put the millions of ps5 owners to the side for a small portion of people that will own the ps5 pro
This is what I was waiting for too!!! Thank you! Yall never disappoint

If it's that easy to not notice it.....then it's not enough of an upgrade to actually matter.
So far, there are not enough reasons for me to switch for pro. Thank you Bryan! You have saved me a lot of money and hassle 😊

Will the mura be improved later from the extra power in the ps5 pro ?
Mura has nothing to do with PS5 Power. Its a hardware Thing only because the OLED Pixel are not equally bright

I don't know why everyone keeps talking about Gran Turismo 7 on the pro. It doesn't even have pro enhancements yet, so of course there's no changes...
For gt7 you should have stressed it with a custom race at night with rain and start at the back of the grid. On the base ps5 it definitely struggles.
