Incredible video, thank you very much for sharing, I do not have anything you say but I follow you some time ago and now I know how to make a ramp for my bike! Thank you very much, keep it up! Blessings, Argentina!
Hey Sam, epic vid as always! Super helpfull, i will build my ramp in a few days! Can u do a bike check for your Slopestyle bike? I would build up my own Slopestyle bike but i don't now what parts i should choose. That would be SUPER NICE too! ; )
Thanks a lot, this will be helpful. I was thinking about building a ramp for some time now. You kinda readed my mind, haha. Cheers from the Czech republic.
just subbed in the last few weeks awesome content! keep up the good work thanks for the ramp build looked it up a while back and never did it due to the complicated radius stuff but for sure will this summer cheers!
black danzi thanks man. Yeah radius stuff is hard but mostly it's down to your eyes. But seems like if he radius is 2foot more than the length then it's good!
Sam Pilgrim thanks dude super helpful at first thought the ramp looked way too slim but I was wrong and or turned out sweet will do the +2 foot thing for sure
Thanks for making these kinds of videos ! It's really nice to see the pro's behind the scenes and i really enjoy your way making these :-) BTW: Do you see a chance to make a recut contest in the future ? I remember that they did this for "Life Cycles".
well, the moment of inertia of the 2x4 is 4 times bigger the way I propose (it will bend 1/4 of what it bends now), but being thinner you might need to put them closer so you might be right. Time to ditch the books and start experimenting!
Sam, What's the brand/name of the little black kicker ramp in your other vid? Would love a good one to take around the city with me. Thanks for the great vids! You guys got a place to stay if you ever hit the Midwest US!
Can you show us what radius works for a small kicker that you can carry around town for making street spots epic? I'm thinking like 1.5ft tall or something
Hey Sam nice video. I built a 4 ft tall ramp with an 11 ft radius and it's currently sitting in my garage during these winter months. It's all finished except for the plywood being attached, I was able to attatch the 12 mm play wood just to the top but it would not bend enough to screw it in. What kind of plywood did you use and how did you bend it?
nice vid i would like to ask how many feet (radius) for a 3 ft high ramp and 4ft long? thats the size of a ramp i can fit my van. i may have to watch you often for style (rotorua2017) thanks man.
Just Build it few days ago and Hit it First Time today, almost Shit my pants But this ramp is awesome- thanks for the Great Video;) greetings from Germany :)
Sam, nice one 👍I made one a few years back similar to yours. Yours was an easier build wish I'd done that. Do you find that when you are hitting the ramp at speed that the cross members hold in place just being held by the screws?
Cool I'm pretty sure you hammer yours way bigger than I hammered mine!! I'm 15 1/2 stone so a bit more momentum 😳 but happy to build your style. Cheers ps what happened to the window on the rv?
What program do you use to edit your videos? I would also recommend putting this, along with your shooting gear in the description of each video, as I'm sure you get asked this loads!
So If u wanted something exactly the same height amd length but not as steep the radius would be longer than 8 correct? And steeper than this would be less than 8?
Because its works perfectly. I tried 6 foot first and it was to tight and then 8 foot became the best option for me. You can use whatever radius you want.
great, thx brother !! thought there was some sort of math involved lol :D would you say the radius should always be longer than the ramp itself? i dont want to be shot into the moon !!!
I've watched like 10 ramp building vids and this is the first one that explains everything really well. Thank you!
TtopMusic no worries!
Yes I did as well, thank you soooooo much sam
best mountain biker out there!
During lockdown I have decided I want to build something. So why not come to Sam pilgrim and watch how to build a ramp! Thanks Sam :)
That bit with the rope to get the radius was bloody brilliant mate.
Shadow Walker haha thanks
Definitely gonna do ittt 👍🏼
Yes boss, get it done!!
This is the best ramp-building tutorial I have seen on here! Thank you so much Sam, I will be making one in the near future. Your content is litttt!
Yoooo thanks!
Incredible video, thank you very much for sharing, I do not have anything you say but I follow you some time ago and now I know how to make a ramp for my bike! Thank you very much, keep it up! Blessings, Argentina!
You Explained it so well I am going to build one my self and with my dad thanks Sam you are great👍🤘🏻🤟🏻
Great video Sam. I'll be making one of these soon!!
I’m 16 and I always new this vid would come in handy, building it with my best mate so we can shred jump bikes and bmx on it 🤙🏻
Hey Sam, epic vid as always!
Super helpfull, i will build my ramp in a few days!
Can u do a bike check for your Slopestyle bike?
I would build up my own Slopestyle bike but i don't now what parts i should choose.
That would be SUPER NICE too! ; )
Thanks dude!!! ruclips.net/video/SJ4bBEB2cLo/видео.html
Thanks mate!,
and your frame is a NS Bikes Majesty? Or not?
No its the NS decade!
Ok thanks!
Sam Pilgrim what is the prix
Great vid Sam, no wonder you were boosting so well off it, 8ft radius on a 3ft ramp is some kick 😎 Keep up the good work 😀
Yeah i though it would be to much but worked well! :)
Sam Pilgrim You and Tom made it look easy 👍
Thanks a lot sam ! Do you advise me to change something to do it with my downhill bike ?
Yeah you should change the radius, Try 9ft radius instead so its a little flatter!
Sam Pilgrim thanks
Thanks a lot, this will be helpful. I was thinking about building a ramp for some time now. You kinda readed my mind, haha. Cheers from the Czech republic.
you are the best. I am soo motivated from your videos
Super cool ramp.
I'm going to build one by my self 😅
Cheers Sam your method is sooooo much simpler will defo give it a go 👍😁
Excellent. Simplicity teaches best!
You deserve way more subs. Your video quality is amazing. Honestly

Do it!!
Watching your channel made me want to try dirt jumping (including the digging and building) :)
next lesson : how to build a surf board with the leftover piece of plywood
Awesome video (as always) and nice wood working project! I build a similar one a couple days ago!
Your vids are great
Glad to hear that!
Great vid! I’m building my ramp today. 👍
Belting ramp Mr Pilgrim!
I'm amazed 12mm ply bends so much.
Stu Houchin with my heaviness on there it was easy haha
Great ramp and video sam!!
Super!!! That what I need to do on this weekends, build a ramp!
Yeah man do it!!
I'm going to do this now. Always inspiring me to ride!
Yeah man do it, its well fun!
Your the best Sam pilgram

ive not long subscribed and love your videos.
Awesome thanks!
sick ramp man I'm definitely going to try this
Rad!!
dude that's an epic ramp! do you think you could make one with as much kick but way more portable?
this was great! any advice to build dirt jumps?
Awesome one!!! :D
I´ve already built some ramps too but none of them was that tidy and big!!!🤔👌🏼🤘🏽
This is small ;)
Does that mean you are planning bigger ones? =P
I have big ones at my field!
Good detailed instruction. Thanks
that really did help Sam thanks
Glad i could help mate!
brilliant videos sam
Really helpful man. Thanks!
Awesome glad you think so!
own up. you only own plant pots to assist you in creating sick projects!
Yet again another epic video!! How much does it cost ??
About £60
Thnx for the upload.. gonna build my first ramp soon :D
Thanks for making these kinds of videos !
It's really nice to see the pro's behind the scenes and i really enjoy your way making these :-)
BTW: Do you see a chance to make a recut contest in the future ? I remember that they did this for "Life Cycles".
Whats that? Where people edit my stuff?
Sam Pilgrim yeah ! they had tons of unused clips and opened a competition for the best 2min edit !
#Sam_Pilgrim
Thnx For the Video This was Of a Great Help for Us Folks in India
Great work Sam :)
really helpful this on dose the same construction apply when building dirt jumps (take off and landings) 👊👊
No obviously dirt is completely different mate, So its a way different thing altogether
Sam Pilgrim true, you think you'd be able to do a how build a dirt jump vid??
Sam i am from spain and you introduced me on the slopstile 😝
Awesome, good to hear it!
Thanks for that sam much appreciated bro 👍👍👍👍👍👍👊👊👊👊
As a mountain biker, this is gonna be helpful
muy buen video!! gracias sam!!
Definitely building a couple of these
How much did it all come up to ?
Prob. Not much it was cheap wood
I would recommend drilling pilot holes into the wood before screwing so the end grain doesn't split during use👍
DJ Linksed ok! These screws apparently are made not to do that, and piloting takes longer ;)
That's cool! Thanks for that video. PS: I'd like to see more Trial-Videos :P
Yeah they are coming!
sweet video, if you put the 2x4 the other way around (short side supporting the plywood) the ramp will be stiffer.
Doesn't make a difference and you need double the amount of wood.
well, the moment of inertia of the 2x4 is 4 times bigger the way I propose (it will bend 1/4 of what it bends now), but being thinner you might need to put them closer so you might be right. Time to ditch the books and start experimenting!
Hey Sam,
Can you make a video where you show us your mercedes sprinter ??
would be great to see what you have done inside.
I'm selling it now, so look out for it on eBay ;)
Sam Pilgrim why would you sell it?
Would you use a the same radius for a taller/larger ramp?
Gruff Rowlands no because it would become vertical. How big you going?
Thinking about 6 or 7ft tall... Loving your vids btw, keep it up!
Gruff Rowlands try a radius two foot longer than the length of the ramp and draw it on and see if it's good. If it's to steep add a foot
Cheers!
Sam, What's the brand/name of the little black kicker ramp in your other vid? Would love a good one to take around the city with me. Thanks for the great vids! You guys got a place to stay if you ever hit the Midwest US!
kraisy dave it's a rampage ramp i think
Sam Pilgrim Thanks! Ride on!
Can you show us what radius works for a small kicker that you can carry around town for making street spots epic? I'm thinking like 1.5ft tall or something
Finan 7 a 4 foot radius should work quite well. check out pinkbike's building forum, there's hundreds of treads about this there. Hope this helps :)
Luke Nichols bend it harder then :)
should ride and a film at southsea skatepark sam
nice ramp!!
Nice plates on your car. What radius should I build for dirt ramp?
Alex Malibu 15ft
Thanks man.
How much does it cost to make? great video
awesome SAM Im building it!!!
nice vid i would like to ask how many feet (radius) for a 3 ft high ramp and 4ft long? thats the size of a ramp i can fit my van. i may have to watch you often for style (rotorua2017) thanks man.
cool vid bro I might make one
You gotta!!
Sick video
ohhh that coach looks like a nice place to stay. .
Nice
From
Baghdad
Iraq
First time Sam used the right tools not a hammer
Just Build it few days ago and Hit it First Time today, almost Shit my pants But this ramp is awesome- thanks for the Great Video;) greetings from Germany :)
I'm trying to learn a backflip would this be steep enough also What dremel did you use to cut plywood?
Sam, nice one 👍I made one a few years back similar to yours. Yours was an easier build wish I'd done that. Do you find that when you are hitting the ramp at speed that the cross members hold in place just being held by the screws?
Yeah man its fine, the sis how i build my huge ramps too!
Cool I'm pretty sure you hammer yours way bigger than I hammered mine!! I'm 15 1/2 stone so a bit more momentum 😳 but happy to build your style. Cheers
ps what happened to the window on the rv?
Dad is doing some work on there and if that wasn't there the water would get in!
Ahhh yeh that would be a bit pants getting wet pants every time you drive. 😏 Cheers dude 👍
Ideal radius for learning to backflip??
What program do you use to edit your videos? I would also recommend putting this, along with your shooting gear in the description of each video, as I'm sure you get asked this loads!
I use final cut 10, And for this video i shot it on GoPro hero 5 black!
Thanks so much man! I'm just looking for a good editing software to make some MTB edits and such.
awesome!
So If u wanted something exactly the same height amd length but not as steep the radius would be longer than 8 correct? And steeper than this would be less than 8?
If i am going to be learning 360 of this into a grass landing should i change anything
Think I might try and make one soon hope I don't fail
Hi Sam. How can i choose ideal radius? :) For exzample whats good for Dirt jumps? Btw nice vid ;)
What size ramp do you want to make?
Maybe 2 meters tall? Samething like that. For average dirt jump :)
Awesome👍👍👍👍👍
How thick was the plywood on top??
Possibly make a vid of building a landing?
Well its easy, just pile dirt up
Yea, meant like a wooden one though, like in a skatepark?
Idk if ur gonna see this or some one but is 8ft a good radius for mtb bikes? To be exact full suspension 27.5
Notice me Sam Pilgrim ! 😂😂✌
What street bike would you recommend for beginners?
www.nsbikes.com Any of them!
Best mountain biker but good skater too
would a 10ft radius be right for a 8ftLx6ftH kicker?
mt bmx sounds right. But you will be able to tell after you draw the line. Maybe draw 10ft and 11ft and see the difference
nice build dude, just one thing why do you have plastic sheeting on your windows of the motorhome
Joe Westcott my dad is doing some work on the windows and we don't want rain inside!
Is putting a grip tape or wire on the ramp bad idea? When wood gets wet it becomes super slippy. Would it effect on normal "dry" riding?
No it works fine, i just try not to use it in the wet so i don't need the extra things!
you are a pro jump maker
Hey Sam, any particular reason why you chose an 8 foot radius??
Because its works perfectly. I tried 6 foot first and it was to tight and then 8 foot became the best option for me. You can use whatever radius you want.
great, thx brother !! thought there was some sort of math involved lol :D would you say the radius should always be longer than the ramp itself? i dont want to be shot into the moon !!!
Awesome
Legend
Would you need to change the bottom bit for a scooter to go up it
Maybe add a bit of sheet metal at the bottom
