  • @Mr850man
    @Mr850man 7 лет назад

    sweet video, if you put the 2x4 the other way around (short side supporting the plywood) the ramp will be stiffer.

    • @SamPilgrim
      @SamPilgrim  7 лет назад

      Doesn't make a difference and you need double the amount of wood.

    • @Mr850man
      @Mr850man 7 лет назад

      well, the moment of inertia of the 2x4 is 4 times bigger the way I propose (it will bend 1/4 of what it bends now), but being thinner you might need to put them closer so you might be right. Time to ditch the books and start experimenting!

    Would you use a the same radius for a taller/larger ramp?

    • @SamPilgrim
      @SamPilgrim  7 лет назад +2

      Gruff Rowlands no because it would become vertical. How big you going?

    • @gruffrowlands1135

      Thinking about 6 or 7ft tall... Loving your vids btw, keep it up!

    • @SamPilgrim
      @SamPilgrim  7 лет назад +1

    Hey Sam nice video. I built a 4 ft tall ramp with an 11 ft radius and it's currently sitting in my garage during these winter months. It's all finished except for the plywood being attached, I was able to attatch the 12 mm play wood just to the top but it would not bend enough to screw it in. What kind of plywood did you use and how did you bend it?

    • @SamPilgrim

      Because its works perfectly. I tried 6 foot first and it was to tight and then 8 foot became the best option for me. You can use whatever radius you want.
